Last time on SmackDown: Michelle and Eve did battle, with the Women’s Champion coming out on top. Meanwhile, Maria’s untimely chair stealing cost Dolph a match and the both of them their relationship.
This week: To say that Monday’s “Diva Draft” put a different spin on things would be an understatement. How will SmackDown two newest Divas–Beth and Mickie–fare on their new show?
I usually won’t do a Redux unless there is a match, but this backstage segment was interesting enough to cover on its own. For one, it features Mickie James and Beth Phoenix‘s SmackDown debuts, but it also features Chris Jericho interacting with Michelle McCool and hinting towards a possible match at Bragging Rights:
Backstage, Team Smackdown co-captain Chris Jericho is talking to Michelle, expressing to her how important Bragging Rights is for their brand. Teddy Long stands nearby, listening in. Jericho says that there will be 3 SmackDown vs. Raw matches, and he has faith in himself to lead his team to victory, but has no faith in John Morrison to defeat the Miz in his match. He asks Michelle if she is capable of getting SmackDown that crucial 2nd win. Michelle tells him that he can count on her, and she realizes that he is the best at what he does, but what she does is make history. She can beat any Diva on any show at any given time.
Mickie pops in and wants to tell Teddy how excited she is that he chose to draft her to SmackDown. She tells Chris that if he wants a Diva who can win at Bragging Rights, maybe he should choose someone who has already beaten every Diva on Raw. Michelle isn’t pleased with Mickie deflating her ego balloon, so she departs.
But, before the can exit the room, she runs into Beth Phoenix–literally. Beth eyes Michelle’s Women’s Title and tells her that she shouldn’t plan on holding that it very long. Showing a wee bit of intimidation, Michelle leaves.
Now, this whole scene was pretty much just a sloppy way for Mickie and Beth to make their debuts, but I liked that they both got to interact with Michelle. It wasn’t much, but I liked their interaction with Chris Jericho. I’d love to see an inter gender storyline that wasn’t based on melodramatic relationships, but that’s another matter.. I’d say they’re definitely planting the seeds for an upcoming feud, but what will it be? Heel (Michelle) vs. Face (Mickie) or Heel (Michelle) vs. Heel (Beth)? Who will wrestle at Bragging Rights? I suppose we’ll get a hint at both of those questions next week. And hey, maybe we’ll get an actual match too..
What do you guys think? Will Mickie get the first shot at Michelle’s title, or will they go for a more unique heel vs. heel feud? Perhaps a triple threat? Sound off in the comments!

is it just me, or does anyone else have an inkling that mickie and beth might team up to unite against michelle (turning beth face in the process) ? I would like to see a michelle and beth feud first, but preferably not as heel v heel!

I’m no fashion expert but I think Michelle was going for the semi-casual look. She does looks nice. Another thing I picked up on is that when Beth enters & gets in Michelle’s face, Michelle looks almost frightened to see her, unless that’s just me.

The one great thing about this trade is that the brand won’t be Michelle McCool dominated as it has been for the past three years having the show revolve around her makes it boring what WWE needs to realize is that she is not a Torrie Wilson and a Trish Stratus she does not have that star power, charisma and that type of fan base for fans to support her hopefully Beth and Mickie will become the next champions because McCool so far has not been a really good champion.
Mickie and Beth will help the division to higher heights

The show has revolved around Michelle for three years because she’s awesome. And she’s getting better and better at the charisma thing. I love that Beth is coming over, they need to finish that feud they started when michelle slapped her last year. But if they sent Melina back, they could have at least brought back Maryse. I LOVED when Michelle and Maryse went at it all last year. They work so well together.

While her wrestling has improved, I think her speaking and acting have the same issues she’s always had. That’s a knock on Michelle, though, as charisma is not learned. If you have it, you have it, and if you don’t, you don’t.
As for Maryse, either her or Jillian probably should have been moved as the heel Divas on Smackdown really could use of them now. It seems like overkill to have Maryse and Jillian on the same show when they’re probably the most entertaining women in the company.

I Can See Mickie Turning Heel && Beth Turning Face. They All Looked Amazing Tonight, Esp: Beth && Michelle (Shoot Please
). Michelle && Beth Need To Finish They Feud Off From Last Year, But Knowing WWE Hey Wont Do It. So Lets Just Hope That They Do.

Michelle’s improved just slightly in her promos,I still don’t see a huge difference,love the way she talks like she’s better than Jericho,though,like she’s scolding him for questioning the ‘queen’.

This was pretty nice to me it caught my attention. Michelle look scared when she bumped into beth. Mickie sounded a bit heelish when she was talking to jerhico and michelle or maybe that is just me.
I dont really care who gets a crack at michelle first Im excited to see Michelle vs Beth as well as Mickie vs Michelle…Hell do Mickie vs Michelle vs Beth

I know how to get Natalya champion:
Current feud: Beth vs Mickie vs Michelle
So at survivor series a Raw vs Smackdown divas tag team match and its down to Melina and Natalya but Jillian distracts Melina allowing Natalya to win.
And that week on Smackdown triple threat divas tag team match:
Natalya and Beth b/ Mickie and Maria, and, Layla and Michelle, afterwards Natalya attacks Beth and says as the soul survivor in the survivor series match i get a title shot.
Natalya b/ Beth, Mickie and Michelle to win the title, slowly turns face after Michelle and Beth join forces to take out Natalya, has a short tag team feud with Mickie against them, have Beth win the rumble and BAM!!! you have Natalya vs Beth at Wrestlemaina 26

Ive become a Michelle supporter, but she falls suprisingly FLAT in her promo’s,furthermore there are diva’s out there who can probably benefit better from promo time, the WWE wants her to be this cocky monster heel, but she just doesnt have the chops for it, let her be a PHYSICAL heel because she can back it up in the ring better than she can on the mic. JERICHO is AWESOME, even when he’s given sub par material, he manages to come off convincingly so it was a great touch to have the diva’s in with him.
BETH Will turn face, or else she wouldve come right after Mickie in that promo, AND she wouldnt have smiled at all. Its about time too, Beth will make an awesome face.

Michelle is pretty, and she’s good in the ring. She’s not great, but she’s good. But give her a mic, and she turns from McCool to McDull. Jeez, not even Jericho could make her worth a listen. Did you hear the crowd, especially compared to when Mickie walked in? This is like giving the world title to Charlie Haas. Good n the ring, but no one cares.
I also think Beth will go face eventually. The monster face can work. Kong did it in TNA, Taker, Show, Kane have all had several monster face runs. It would be a good move.

since Maria is “out” in that apprentice celebrity thing,that only leaves Mickie as the only face diva on SD.they need to turn Beth face to team with Mickie because they must had someone else for the tag matches.Beth has all that it takes to be an even better face Diva than she was as a heel.
and i love when she smiles,she should do it more often.

Maria can still show up for SD tapings because the celebrities contestants are allowed to leave the show for a day if it conflicts with work or a previous engagement.

Man,Michelle just bores me when she talks and I hate she always brings up that she made history,were never going to hear the end of that
honestly,I don’t think mickie should ever be womens champion again,she should just stick to fueds or the divas title,she’s already won the title 4 times,giving her more just doesn’t seem right
lol,i loved it when michelle saw beth,she looked so scared,I bet michelle in her head was thinking “man,i actually have competition now,i might lose my belt who I’ve only defended against one person fo far” lol XD

Looks like SmackDown is finally going to be interesting again. I found it a little bland since pretty much everyone left over the past couple of months for various reasons.
