The ‘quality of life’ for Divas didn’t fare any better last night, in the first Raw following the Diva Trade. New Divas, Melina and Eve Torres were present though they didn’t exactly enhance the programme. Despite the Trade supposedly being an improvement for the women’s division, it certainly didn’t look like it. If, like me, you sat through Raw just waiting to see the Divas — you were likely bitterly disappointed when the match lasted just about as long as it did last week.
So… what was the point of the Trade? What did Eve offer that Rosa couldn’t? What did Melina accomplish in that two minute match that Mickie couldn’t do? For someone who is one day expected to be the future of the women’s division, Eve came across like the the long lost third Bella Twin. So you move the girl over to Raw just to sit and dance around with Snoop Dogg? Okay.
Fellow new Diva, Melina fared a little better — she got an actual match, just barely though. Melina defended her oh-so-prestigiously won Divas Championship against Jillian in a rematch from last week:
Why Jillian has all of a sudden been paired with Chavo Guerrero is beyond me, perhaps they are reforming the Job Squad? Meanwhile, Melina suffers an uphill battle with the stairs — but just about manages to get on the apron. Oh dear, some would consider this a foreshadowing of events.
Before the Divas can even lock up, Chavo gets up on the apron to distract the referee allowing Jillian a cheap shot on Melina followed by a nice Samoan drop. Jillian goes for a quick cover but Melina counters which brings out a nice reaction from the #1 Contender. Jillian with knees to the face and throws Melina into the corner, she charges at Melina with a handspring elbow but Melina locks in a Mickie-like headscissors [from behind however] and begins choking out Jillian. Nice, fast paced reactions there from both, I like. Melina then hits her patented toe to the head.
Melina goes up to the middle rope but once again Chavo is up on the apron which distracts Melina, in the meantime Chavo’s rival-for-life Hornswoggle comes out to the ring and pulls Chavo down. The camera seems to be all over this rather than action in the goddamn ring. Melina hits the leg-split drop on Jillian — without botches this week — for the 1, 2, 3.
What does it say when the Divas Title match is co-booked with more Chavo & Hornswoggle ‘comedy’? The funny thing is, there was something there to draw from. The work between the girls wasn’t half-bad but could’ve been so much more. Too short. Not enough attention. It just goes to show that there are sparks of excitement to be had in the women’s division but it’s quashed by WWE. If you put these two Divas in the ring and just gave them a few uninterrupted minutes, this could have been a really good match, I think.
But who wants to see girls wrestle when we can see them dance with Snoop Dogg? That little dancing skit lasted the length of the match and the Divas multiplied! This time, Gail Kim and Kelly Kelly joined the band of generic babyface Divas.
Next week: Melina & Hornswoggle vs Jillian & Chavo in the battle to end all battles. *

Was Alicia Fox even featured? I didn’t watch the show.
But I guess it’s a good thing they didn’t have her dancing in the ring like a Snoop Dogg video ho.

I think Jillian losing is all part of the storyline,she loses a bunch of times to melina and then finally wins.Theres no way Melina was going to Drop the title a week after she won it(she’s the top babyface) and melina is also supposed to lead the Raw divas into Bragging rights this sunday so Melina winning did make sence and NO,i do NOT think Jillians push is over,I think her push will continue next week

I’m rooting for the Raw Divas this sunday because there the underdogs,also i’m not going to cheer for michelle,i like Beth and Nattie but since michelle is leading the team,I’m not going to root for them

W.O.W was all that could really describe how i was feeling. Eve was going from top diva on smackdown to being a video hoe for snoopdog. Well that was just W.O.W. pretty pathetic if you ask me but what do we know, were just fans who can come up with way better ideas for the divas.
I dont know about jilian getting that push. Like melanie said vince is quick to change his mind. Plus whith maryse returning soon it’s likely that she will be the top heel.
Im gona go on a limb her and just speak how i feel, if vince were to oh i dont know be hospitilized(I dont want to say die) and was told not to return to chairmain of the wwe we might see some intersting things for the divas but until then I see nothing good for 2 certaing divas(EVE and jilian)

DaWayne999-Maryse is still injured and when she comes back,she’s not going to wrestler,read the report from diva dirt about maryse,she’s going to stick to backstage segments for a while until she’s fully healed
and vince is not the only one high on Jillian,the creative team and many wrestlers are also,they think her acting is great and thats she’s hilarious

There was a time Jillian was allowed to actually wrestle before getting pinned. But some booker decided it was a good idea to suddenly turn her in a coward who doesnt know how to wrestle. Guess the bookers (and most of the casual fans) have already forgotten that Jillian used a lot of highspots in the past. Maybe the bookers should check out some of her matches from her OVW days.

I hope RAW doesn’t become the environment that cramps Melina’s style, because I think she found her groove on Smackdown incredibly well. Generally RAW rushes the Diva segments, which is what causes the botchfests in the first place; you have women trying to cram so much within a very short time frame. In that sense, I find that the Divas have the hardest job within the ring. They have the most to prove and little time to do so.
As for the match, I agree with Melanie. It didn’t do much to showcase the importance of the Diva Trade other than hark back to that nauseating image of Wrestlemania 24, where the women merely served as token “hoes” for Snoop Dog. I really feel for Jillian. Everytime she’s in the ring you can taste her desire to actually wrestle. The whole Chavo/Hornswoggle angle was just garbage.

I had so much hope for the RAW divas and when Vince was saying there going to be a improvement in the diva’s division I couldn’t wait for last night. Just knowing that Melina and Jillian would had amazing match and that Gail Kim or Kelly Kelly would had a match with Alicia. But we get NOTHING. Now seeing The Bella Twins and Eve come out with Snoop wasn’t a suprise I knew Eve was there because of her looks and nothing else. RAW divas are now becoming a joke and I feel so sorry for Gail Kim, Alicia, and Melina. My heart is like WOW to see Gail loss a match aganist Kelly and next week they probably job Alicia out once again to Eve. Well, maybe not since next week host is guys and Eve and The Bella Twins have jobs already and that is to look pretty.
Next week would probably going to be Melina & Hornswoggle vs Jillian & Chavo. Or Jillian/Alicia vs. Melina/Kelly with nascar outfits.
I’m happy that Beth is not with RAW no more or that Alicia wasn’t there last night. Just seeing what the RAW divas did last nitght I’m going to watch SM to see real divas matches. I wish that Gail and Alicia would still with Smackdown and that Melina was also still on SM.

i was soooo dissapointed with this match.. i knew Melina would retain but its sad how little ring time they got..
They prob left Alicia off the show because she is from Jacksonville and would’ve gotten a pop which wouldn’t make sense since she’s a heel

i can actually see the chavo/jillian vs melina/hornswoggle thing happening next week, maybe actually explain that pairing! but why’ll the match was short and was followed by crap, jillian did have most of the offense, which compared to a usual jillian match is good, i mean i guess theres something bright in that? lol

well if jillian pinned melina in the hornswoggle and melina vs chavo and jillian match i wouldnt mind itt. but if jillian lost to melina again next week what would have been the point of any of thiss.? reallyy.? but if you think about it they probably wont have that match rght after a paypervieww. but knowing how they treat raw divas itll be something egaully as shittyy. i seriosly hate raw and tna noww. i personally cant keep up with all there confusing bull sh!t. smackdown ftw.

Melanie, that match with Melina & Jillian was the shortest that I have ever viewed. It is time that they start using the Divas in professional matches. I do not think that they realize how many fans that the Divas have, and we are getting impatient. TNA manages the Divas much better. Triple H & Cena was an excellent match.

Lol Melina tripped! Good thing she didn’t mess up doing the splits.. like she did at survior serie’s that one year.
Other than that, the match sucked.
I don’t wanna see Eve in any action for as long as she is on raw!

I was very disappointed in the match That segment gave me a nightmare about tho everyone’s probably like what how can Eve give you nightmares well in the dream I met Eve and she gave me an autograph then she wanted a hug(shouldn’t have done that) soon as I did her voice changed to freddie cougers and she had the claws and said in Freddies voice TIME TO GIVE SOME SUGA than raised his claw like he was about stab me with it.

Match was way too short but Melina and Jillian did the best they could with the time they were given, so it was decent from that perspective. Wow Jillian looked hot this week.

hahaha MarBu13 i think it is. But yeah Lamest Raw ever i thought that Eve would actually get some real time. She west from one week being a Top contender for the womens title to being along with The bella twins Snoop Doog Hoes. The match was lame and why chavo came with jillian to the ring i will never know. Fell real bad for eve but called it back when she got drafted t raw, she is just going to be the long lost sister of the bella twins and the 6 face in line behind, Melina, Kelly kelly, Gail Kim Brie Bella, Nikkie bella. So Eve is just going to get lost in the scuffle.

i dont see jillian getting any push if they keep do that with her…very short match,they made jillian look too weak
but hey…for the 2nd week i dont know why jillian dont sell melina’s finisher correctly it looked strange this week if u look closely!!
