Sharmell out, Kristal in. Former WWE Diva, Kristal Lashley (Marshall) is set to become an official on-screen character following her TNA television mini-debut at Bound for Glory.
Kristal — wife of Bobby Lashley — was seen cheering him on during his match with Samoa Joe this past Sunday and it’s expected to lead to a more permanent role for the ex-Diva.
Interestingly, as Kristal comes to TNA, her and Bobby’s close friends Booker T and Sharmell are reportedly on their way out. It seems like Kristal will be in a similar managing role to Sharmell but with the latter now out of the picture, it won’t look as carbon-copy.
In an interview with Diva Dirt last month, Kristal told us she had been in early talks with TNA but nothing was finalised at the time.
EDIT: Kristal makes her debut on Impact this Thursday night and will be involved in Bobby’s next feud, which is with Scott Steiner.

One day you are happy Raka Khan, Jenna Morasco and soon Sharmell are gone, and then suddenly TNA hires Lacey, Kristal, Kim Couture and probably Lena Yada as well. Who’s next? Candice?

Happy that Sharmell is gone?? Why that?? She is an important part of TNA, she has the best mic skills (along with Daffney) from all the Knockout roster, she wasn’t THAT bad of a wrestler and she is probably the best manager/valet in years!! Who can top that??
The only one I could live without from the new girls is Lacey, she adds nothing…Lena had one match and she did a lot better then Lacey in all her matches!
Kristal can possibly be a good worker, but I’m not that excited about seeing her as a face…
Kim Couture is fire, and TNA made a wise decision in feauturing her on their show!

kim courture isn’t a knockout
kristal will be nothing but a valet and that’s it
lve is on the hot seat
lena will be just nash’s valet.
Lena, Candice, Lacey and Kristal will not be wrestlers in the knockout division
I SAY FIRE TNA PRESIDENT DIXIE CARTER!
DIXIE HAS RUIN THE KNOCKOUT DIVISION WITH THESE WORTHLESS MODELS AND I HOPE DIXIE AND THOSE LOSERS R.I.P

She will be great by the side of her husband, just like Sharmell was. I like the “old school” valet/managers we very rarely see these anymore. TNA is full of amazing, talented female wrestlers – so why can’t there be room for some eye-candy and non-wrestlers in valet and managerial roles also? Variety is the spice of life after all.

Although I do welcome Kristal, and I’m sad Sharmell is gone – I have to agree with Lavadius in a way. Dixie Carter is sort of running it in the ground. The quality of wrestling on TNA use to be very above average with most of the girls. Now, the only girls whose capable of putting on great matches under four minutes is Hamada and Alissa Flash. Whether it’s bad booking, or not enough emphasis on wrestling or bad writing – the women’s division is sucking big time now, when it was already suffering when Gail left and more recently, Angelina Love. Not saying that Dixie is too blame but ever since Jeff Jarrett was put out of power, you can see a small change.

I agree with Kerry. Eye candy or not, I miss the old WWF days utilising the managerial role correctly. Lita with the Hardyz, Trish with TNA Sable with The Oddities, Terri with Edge and Christian, Sunny and whoever was hot at the moment.
I just don’t want Kristal in the ring if she can’t wrestle. Although I still find it funny how piss-poor Sharmell was of a wrestler considering she’s essentially been on the job training for over a decade.

I meant T&A, not TNA.. Seeing Trish with TNA? Never gonna happen.

That’s a pretty inaccurate assessment of Sharmell’s ” training ” in the first place. She was hired on as a Nitro Girl and forced into a more active role in WCW. Although they received help from Molly and others, it was still considered a ” crash course ” nonetheless. In WWE, she begun to get proper training and relocated to OVW – where she got injured before anything ever came from that and retired soon after.
She was only brought back as a storyline idea in WWE, and never attempted any form of formal training unless she was asked to step in the ring a few times in WWE and in TNA. So, over a decade or not – I’m sure whatever “training” she’s had was still minimal.

Agreed, Marbu, I don’t know why it is but TNA see to have a hard time concentrating on more than one division at a time. There is no direction in many of their feuds, male or female and overall they really need to kick ir up a couple gears. I mean, I thought Scott D’Amore returning was supposed to be a good thing?
October 21, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Okay, maybe not training per se but taking into account that she’s been in the business a long time and is married to arguably one of the better workers, and even takes part in running a wrestling school, I would’ve assumed she’d have at the very least the basics down to perfection.

Well, it’s just a matter of opinion I guess. I think the spots Sharmell performed are decent enough. And in that craptastic match with Jenna Morasca, I thought she did well holding her together – but, that’s just me. But I agree with you on that Scott D’Amore bit. Wasn’t he suppose to be there? Lol What happened with that? I definitely don’t see any of his influence yet.

I’ll actually be a little sad to see Sharmell leave, because I do think she was definitely a great example of the vintage female valets. She exuded a lot of personality and effectively enhanced Booker T’s performances in the ring. As a wrestler, I don’t recall Sharmell ever promoting herself as one but on the few occasions she did step into the ring (the abysmal bout with Jenna Morasca excluded, obviously) I felt she held her own okay.
Kristal isn’t a bad successor, to be honest. She’s another one who has the potential to get over with her personality. As a wrestler, that’s another story. I agree with the above comment that there is room for wrestlers and non wrestlers in the women’s division – so long as there is a fair balance.
Perhaps the lesson TNA needs to learn is to nurture and push more talent? That way when they find themselves in the inevitable position of losing one of their biggest draws (Gail Kim and Angelina Love) they wouldn’t be stumped with this lack of direction we’re seeing now. Awesome Kong and Tara seem to be the primary focus and yet neither of them have the Knockouts Championship.

I will miss Sharmell. She was a throw back to the old school managers like, Miss Elizabeth and Sensational Sherri. I think if Krystal is a manager for Bobby that would be great. Lets face it, Bobby is kind of boring, and this will def help his character be more entertaining. Husbands and wives/girlfriends and boyfriends always work the best together. Look and Savage/Elizabeth, HHH/Chyna, Sharmell/Booker, Lita/Edge, Lita/Matt Hardy, and so on.
Lena Yada and Candice have yet to be hired so lets not jump the gun…thats pure speculation at this point.
Lacey Von Erich is very very very hot. Did you hear the crowd at BFG V? They loved The Beautiful People. The crowd was pissed when Lacey got sent to the back. She will improve in the ring, TNA is training her right now. I am curious who in perticular is training her. She has been entertaining thus far…although that is from a guys point of view haha..loooooooove me some LVE and Velvet Sky.
Rhaka Khan and Jenna sucked. Plain and simple. Jenna didn’t know what she was doing, and Rhaka was just not entertaining at all.
I think it would be cool if Kim Couture became a pro wrestler. Why is that stupid? Look at Ken Shamrock, Bobby Lashley, Dan Severn, and Brock Lesnar. It can and has worked. She is built like one already. I doubt it would be a big strech for her. Further more, she would more than likely just being working an angle, not becoming a full time part of the TNA roster.

I hate that people are bashing Kristal she can hold her own is a match and is better than Maria who was turned out to have a longer career than Kristal. She can hit he spots well and sells very good. Her grasp as a heel is very good. So would fit right in with the BP.
Refresh this was when Kristal was still green.
And not so green, sold the finsher very well
I have been to wrestling school. I know what it takes and Kristal can perform. As for Lena and Lacey only time can tell.
