If there’s ever a Knockout you don’t want to piss off it’s Awesome Kong, so it’s of no surprise that some fool got his ass handed to him by the two-time Knockouts Champion. Wrestling Globe Newsletter reports:
There was an altercation involving a TNA Knockout late Sunday night during the PPV after party at the Hilton Hotel in Irvine. A guy was insulting the boyfriend of Awesome Kong so she called him out and took care of business. “Kong pushed him and he flew like 15 feet,” said one observer. “Then he got in her face and she kicked his ass!” Other sources confirmed the story and one noted Kong isn’t a lady to mess with.
Erm, can we get a moment’s silence for the dude? All hail Kong!

There’s always the idiot trying to show a guy up infront of his girlfriend. That’s what he gets.

Good for her! She is quite right in defending her man, just like a man would defend his woman. Nobody should stand for having someone insult them when their just out and about minding their own business. Kong is doing it for the girls!

I’ve already commented about this altercation on another website but it bares repeating. If all this “individual” (again using this term rather loosely) did was run his mouth, then Kong really needs to learn restraint, people are under the impression that when you clock out you are on “your time”. Kong especially doesn’t have this luxury, she represents a corporate entity twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred sixty five days a year. Yes, this guy is an idiot, yes he was being obnoxious but Kong fell right into the trap, she allowed this individual to bait her into a physical altercation and by doing so put three separate entities at fiscal risk by way of litigation:
Herself (not to mention possibly criminally, if this guy didn’t physical accost her first, this is a clear case of criminal assault)
The TNA organization of whom she represents
Hilton Worldwide corporation which in 2006 published earnings of well over eight billion dollars
There is a policy in place that prevents the “fans” from getting physically involved with the talent, I am disappointed that this policy wasn’t reciprocated. Assuming all published reports are accurate, and the only action this individual (again used loosely) took was open their mouth, then TNA needs to immediately step in suspend Awesome Kong for a minimum of thirty days, without pay and conduct an internal investigation. If after the investigation has been completed it’s realized that this “individual” accosted Kong physically and Kong merely was acting purely in self defense, then you immediately reinstate Kong, re-compensate her for wages lost and move on.
However if after the investigation has been completed and Kong is found to be in the wrong by not acting in self defense and took it upon herself to take matters into her own hands, you force her to sit out the remainder of the thirty day suspension without pay and send a message to the rest of the talent in the TNA locker room that this sort of behavior can not and will not be tolerated.
There will always be proud card carrying members of the shallow gene pool treading club who will take every opportunity to try and earn a quick payday at the expense at someone else, you just have to let cooler heads prevail and not allow yourself to make a poor judgment decision and take the bait.

“if this guy didn’t physical accost her first, this is a clear case of criminal assault”
All we know is, that she pushed the guy.
Guy #1 saw a small push and tells Guy #2 about it.
Guy #2 tells the dirtsheets that she pushed him 15 feet!
The dirtsheets write “she kicked his ass”.
The fans who read the dirtsheets start talking about assault.

“All we know is, that she pushed the guy.”
Making the assault discussion all the more valid.

“Making the assault discussion all the more valid.”
Doesnt have to be. We dont know the context. Maybe the guy was literary in her face or touching her and she “politely” pushed him away. Thats not assault. We werent there, and as far as we know the guy didnt press charges. Its just a vague report from a “witness”.
