The Glamazon, Beth Phoenix has a big supporter on her new home in the form of lead SmackDown writer, Michael Hayes.
Hayes, we’re told, is said to be a big fan of Phoenix and was ‘thrilled’ when she was moved to the blue brand in the big Diva Trade three weeks ago.
As a result, the two time Women’s Champion is likely to receive a sizable role on SmackDown. Though not confirmed, the match that will air tomorrow on SmackDown could be turned into an angle with Beth squashing ‘local jobbers’ over the next month or so, with the idea of re-establishing her and eventually giving her a big push for the Women’s Title.
Needless to say, whichever route they go — Beth is in safe hands with Michael Hayes at the helm.

Beth is lucky she is white, or mr hayes wouldn’t push her.

Beth has been pushed to the moon ever since her debut so her gettting pushed again doesn’t really surprise anyone,we all know she will get pushed, she always does

This isnt much of a surprise sinece they thought it was a good idea to have beth make a win over hte Divas champion…which I feel is a very bad business idea. Since the champions are their number one product, they probs shouldnt make other wrestlers look better than the product they are trying to promote. Beth is a good wrestler but she needs more depth to her character than just a powerhouse woman…..come to think of it…every Diva does.

she deserves it imo.

Lol @ Lee. And I kind of agree with you RKOyou. Her character has always been on the front lines in some way. But I think it’ll be different this part around because she’ll actually get to do the other 70 % of what she know. I mean honestly, besides the stuff she’s shown in her matches with Melina – can anyone honestly name three or four official Beth Phoenix moves? It seems like all she did on RAW, was help carry Kelly Kelly or do her regular spots with Mickie.
I’m ready to see what a face Beth Phoenix have in her arsenal and character.

Beth is excellent on the mic and at portraying a character, if you see videos of her work on the Indies for AWF and OVW you will see how well she comes across, she hasn’t yet been able to show much personality in WWE but you know it’s there, even when you get just a glimpse of it, you can see she has a lot of charisma ready to be seen.
She is one of the total packages as far as a female in wrestling goes and they can push her as much as they want, I am very happy to see her in the spotlight because a woman of her talent truly deserves it and it is not often WWE really pushes and uses someone of Beths skills, it’s often the girls we feel less deserving of pushes that get them.
So it’s great that a talent like Beth is being allowed a chance to shine.

Goods news. She has been a heel since her return after her injury, so there is a whole side to her that we havent seen in WWE yet. But more importantly, she is a stable factor in the ring. You rarely see her make big mistakes, even on the live matches on RAW. And right now thats exactly what WWE needs: A credible womens champion who can carry the matches against both rookies and veterans.

“can anyone honestly name three or four official Beth Phoenix moves?
Fisherman’s suplex
Snap suplex
Slingshot suplex
Sitout inverted suplex slam
Thats just the suplexes she has used
Although she rarely used them on RAW. But what do you expect with 2 minute matches. When she was face (her WWE debut) she had a 6-minute match with Victoria and used multiple suplexes/slams, but i doubt we will ever see matches like that again in WWE.

@ Mikas – My point was, not figuring out how many moves she’s used – but commenting on how WWE used her thus far. Which meant that they’ve only scratched the surface of who she is. I didn’t think someone was gonna actually post 4 moves, lol.

I’m a huge fan of the Glamazon. Beth is unlike a lot of Divas in that she has composed a great character out of the little development given by the scripting. She’s an excellent all rounder and I think there’s so much mileage left in her gimmick. I don’t see her as a face or heel. She comes across neutral. She never cheats in her matches, relies on brute strength and ability, and allies with no one. I think Hayes should naturally continue with her intimidating Michelle McCool. Hopefully the two can have matches that resembles Phoenix’s I Quit Match with Melina.

Likewise! She is definately my favorite along with Gail when it comes to the wrestling ability. She needs like SUPER PUSH! Maybe even Intercontinental Champ?;)

Im so glad she has supporters…I hope they still turn her face….and she can team up with mickie
October 30, 2009 at 4:26 am
I’m just glad her talents aren’t going to be wasted anymore losing to the stupid guest hosts on RAW (gag!!). This past year she has been used to bring in Rosa, put over “Santina”, fight RAW guests, and carry the other Divas to establish more TV stars….in the end though she is a great worker and they should highlight her vs. McCool or Natayla and reestablish quality women’s title matches.
October 30, 2009 at 5:12 pm
The squashing idea is very Vladamir Koslov, however I think it’s a nice way to establish her in the division, whilst giving someone else (most likely Mickie) a title push.
October 30, 2009 at 8:26 pm
thank god Beth is being threated like she deserves.and about her being pushed,or always pushed, someone here needs to rewind his head and look at what happened to Beth since she started the Glamarella crap, losing to Melina the title, jobbing to Santina, losing to Raw´s guest hosts,etc…..this is for you,RKOyou…
October 30, 2009 at 9:13 pm
RKOYou.. haha serioulsy? the women’s been put over by most of the Raw guest host who arn’t even wrestlers mind ‘Trish being a former wrestler) to come back when she wants and beat Beth is a joke, no disrespect to Trish mind. And well by santina which makes me gag becuase she’s being turned into a comedy sketch with this foolish idea santina when she should be competeing with the top Female competitors.
I’m Glad Beths on Smackdown becuase NOW we can see her concentrate on Propper wrestling and title oppertunities with Good female Athletes, SmackDown is the place to be at this pressant time in WWE you’ve got Nattie, mccool, mickie and layla.. all Good workers, no kelly or bellas ect its going to be a very interesting to see what unfolds with Beth :]
