Controversial TNA Knockout, Lacey Von Erich has responded for the first time to scathing comments made about her by former WWE Diva, Sunny [Tammy Sytch].
Last month, the former Diva launched a tirade against Von Erich through her Facebook page, making overly personal comments about the Beautiful People star.
In an interview with WrestlingInc.com, Lacey says:
I don’t know who she is, nor have I followed her career. Everyone has a right to their opinions and the way they share them to the world. You could take the classy respectful way, or blast them on the internet, its all up to them. I ignore it, either way.
Perhaps the ultimate diss of all — “I don’t know who she is…” And quite frankly, a perfect response to a horrible person. Brava, Lacey.

good on lacey
and a very classy burn

I still don’t like Lacey and hope TNA replace her with someone who actually have talent. But good way to come back, Sunny was very wrong and mean.

Much classier than Sunny, true. But still, way to look like you’ve been living under a rock, Lacey….

Her reponse, might have been classy and worded nicely but I might have actually bought the class behind it more if a month or so ago she hadn’t just slammed Angelina Love in an interview, someone she’d never met either and Im sure could say the same about not knowing her or following her career. Cleary her comments about Love weren’t as bad as Sunny’s on her, but either way she did the same exact thing and I find it extremly fake to act like she’s above such things

The ultimate diss of a person, handled with some Texas charm. What Tammy Sytch did was a MAJOR INSULT to her and the legacy of the Von Erichs. The drug comments about Kerry Von Erich…OVER THE LINE BIG TIME!
I also read in the interview LVE is getting involved with Wrestlers Rescue.
November 2, 2009 at 4:08 am
@ImGoingCrazy I think she was in character when she said that because if you read the rest of the interview she says she is thankful for Angelina, because there’d be no Beautiful People without her
November 2, 2009 at 5:20 am
@Ashleigh, if she was in character its akward for her to swing in an out of it like that. And im pretty sure those interviews[im blanking on who does them] normally are out of character.
I still don’t like her personality wise from what little I’ve seen, but Sunny was way out of line

Considering Tammy Lynn Sytch worked for the WWF between 1995-1998, ECW between 1998 and 1999 and in WCW in 2000 (not to mention her time before making it big spent in places like Smoky Mountain Wrestling in 1994), either Lacey’s lying when she says she doesn’t know who Sunny is, or she’s as ignorant and arrogant as reports suggest.
Nobody’s winning this little spat, but because Lacey’s more in the public eye at the minute and has no history or legacy in wresting, she’s got much, much more to lose.

I can’t say I’m really sure if she’s a smart girl. She slams Angelina Love one month, gets into it with Awesome Kong, than she gains.. New Jack as a new enemy. Classy yes. Smart? I don’t know. I just personally hope she finds some common sense soon.

Personally I have always felt that Sable is the true first Diva…Sunny really was just a valet and wasnt as popular as she thinks she was…but anyways very funny for lacey to say she didnt know who she was but for a person supposed to be so heavily involved in wrestling…it kind of just made her look stupid.

you tell ‘em gurl!

While I doubt Lacey is an angel, I have to say she definitely handled her comments well . Lacey is OBVIOUSLY joking when she says she doesnt know who Sunny is, she’s throwing shade the classy way , it makes her look good and Sunny horrible for getting personal and hitting below the belt. Sunny hated Sable who obviously was the FIRST and ORIGINAL DIVA , you dont see Sable throwing shade on the internet about not getting her dues etc, Sunny needs to grow up.

“Lacey is OBVIOUSLY joking when she says she doesnt know who Sunny is” – Do you think? I get the feeling that she genuinely doesn’t know who Sunny is, which makes her seem even more clueless – especially considering she’s a 3rd generation wrestler, you’d expect her to know. So if she doesn’t know who Sunny is, it just makes her seem ignorant and arrogant… which might not be far off the truth, considering the amount of controversy which constantly surrounds her. It can’t all be a lie.
“she’s throwing shade the classy way , it makes her look good” – Sometimes silence is all you need to say. Considering what she said about Angelina Love and now Sunny, Lacey should learn that piece of advice very quickly.

This was the perfect response from Lacey because its going to hit Sunny right where it hurts: her ego.
November 2, 2009 at 11:44 am
Sunny’s gonna be pissed that Lacey didn’t know who she was… I can see Sunny Disses Lacey V2 coming soon…
I’m not the girls biggest fan but, whatever, go Lacey!

So many people leapt onto the Anti-Lacey bandwagon after the comments she made about Angelina Love, they all started to follow the example of what they read about her on the Internet and it’s built from there. No matter what she does, it will be nitpicked and criticised.
She has every right to stand up for herself after what Sunny said about her, nobody should sit back and say nothing after having their deceased father spoken about in such a henious way.
What Lacey said about Angelina Love was just naive, typical female bitchiness and not personal. What Sunny said about Lacey and her family, on the other hand, was just below the belt, unforgivable and disgusting.

“So if she doesn’t know who Sunny is, it just makes her seem ignorant and arrogant…”
Plenty of people dont know who Sunny is. Lacey already said she wasnt interested into wrestling until WWE approached her. When Sunny was around she was 9 to 10 years old. SMW was an indy that only a few people knew about. In WCW she didnt really do anything, and by the time she was in ECW, ECW was already dying (most wrestlers had jumped to WCW) and nobody was actually watching ECW on tv except for a few diehard wrestling fans. So i dont see why the casual fan who was 10 years old back then should know her, especially when that person wasnt watching wrestling back then.

Some of you seem to forget that after her dad died, Lacey was guarded away from the wrestling world and wasn’t around it until just a few years ago. She was, for the most part, for several years just like the rest of us: a normal person. She wasn’t allowed to watch wrestling, she didn’t go to shows, lost contact with most of her dad’s friends. Yes, she’s a third generation star & has a lineage in the industry but that doesn’t equal knowledge of the industry, especially given her circumstance.
With that in mind, it is conceivable that she genuinely doesn’t know who Sunny is.
I wouldn’t say she’s an arrogant person, because she genuinely doesn’t come across like that in person. Ignorant, definitely. She is an extremely naive young girl that’s been thrown into the industry and doesn’t know the ins and outs of it.

Thank you, Melanie. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Maybe you should post what you just wrote on the main blog. Internet Readers tend to go with what they see. Maybe if they see that they will back off of Lacey a bit.

*starts a slow clap*
Good job LVE!
November 2, 2009 at 6:07 pm
Good Job Lacey Perfect insult for someone like Sunny who thinks shes the worlds most famous female wrestler which she is not.
November 2, 2009 at 6:53 pm
This might register as an actual insult if LVE was a someone.
Go collect your paycheck. Haters will always hate.
November 2, 2009 at 7:35 pm
Melanie is right. Lacey was sheltered from the wrestling industry after dad died and was that way untill WWE called her and and she was offered a WWE developmental contract a few years ago.
I think she might know who Tammy Sytch is, because they have done some of the same wrestling convetions. While I’ve never been to a convention, so I’m not sure how they work, it seems like she would atleast see her there.
I don’t think LVE knows anything about Sunny’s career and how popular she was in the 90′s. Sunny was popular only 3 or 4 years after Lacey’s father died.
Now while I am a big Sunny fan, I am also a big Von Erich fan, and even if I wasn’t a Von Erich fan, those comments about Lacey’s father and family were fucked up and completely uncalled for.
She is VERY “green” to the wrestling buisness, which everyone can tell. I wish her dad was around to help her out and give her advice. Atleast she has her Unlce Kevin to help her out, which I hope he is giving her constructive critisim about what she is doing in TNA.
November 2, 2009 at 7:46 pm
Well Done to Lacey! I feel sorry for her because people are criticising her for not being a good wrestler…shes got it in her bloos soshe will learn quickly! must be difficult to get to know the ropes!
November 2, 2009 at 7:59 pm
What’s kinda of interesting is Lacey Von Erich and Sunny are now friends on facebook, and they werent when Sunny made those comments.
I wonder who added who??
November 2, 2009 at 8:02 pm
Go Lacey!
November 2, 2009 at 9:04 pm
Ofcourse she knows who Sunny is. Because she isn’t dumb enough to not look her up on google and youtube.
So ofcourse it was her way to end on top. And I believe she did. Sunny is and always was crap…. And she was only hot back then because she was the only eye candy who they pushed as far as they could as the hottest.
Some people seriously need some basic knowledge. Most of your opinions don’t even make sense.
