Sojo Bolt Released by TNA

Infrequently seen Knockout, Sojo Bolt has been released by TNA according to PWInsider. In confirmation of this, TNA removed her photo gallery from the Knockouts section of the website last night.

Her profile remains on the main roster page however, but this is because TNA may use her in future but opted not to keep her under contract.

Her last televised match was part of the Knockouts Tag Team Championship tournament, when she and Hamada were eliminated in the first round by Christy Hemme and Tara. Bolt actually worked a house show this past weekend, her first TNA sighting in some time, in a loss to Alissa Flash.

I am so mad about this! They never gave her a real chance. One title shot and that was all! She is such an amazing wrestler! How can they push Lacey and not Sojo or the other Knockouts who actually have talent? It’s way weird and stupid!

It sucks, but you could see it coming. No-one can REALLY say they’re surprised…
Good luck to SoJo in the future :)

Not really a surprise. They only used her when they needed a jobber. I wonder who the new jobber will be. Christy Hemme and Traci Brooks jobbed a lot lately (besides Alissa/Daffney).

They are down to 12 knockouts (5 in Tagteam, 7 Solo) of which 7 are good wrestlers. The good thing of this is that every knockout gets some tv time, but its kinda hard to fill 2 separate titles with what they have right now (which results in lots of random matchups). I am starting to think that introducing the Tagteam titles was a mistake.

wasn’t Sojo’s last match with Hamada against Tara and Christy? :\

Screw TNA I was a Fan of Sojo! It sucks that she got released. She had some much ahead of her they never even gave her a real chance she would have been a way better Knockouts Champion then our current one right now. This sucks big time

Not really surprised, but not quite happy about it. Sojo was an wrestler, with a good character, who wrestled to the ability of her opponent, meaning she was better when she faced higher up opponents, like Tara, Awesome Kong and Angelina Love, but was quite bad when Facing Christy Hemme.

I hope all goes well for her now though!

As many have already said, it’s not surprising. It’s a shame really as she does have the talent, TNA just didn’t seem to know what to do with her (face, heel, sort of face, heel again). If Jackie wasn’t released I wouldn’t have been against them two teaming up in a Master/Apprentice sort of role (Sojo has said plenty of times how much she looks up to Jacqueline) and taking on the tag team gold.

As much as they do seem to have too many knockouts, they also have too few at the same time. It’s weird.

I think its a pity she wasn’t given more of a chance to shine. She’s certainly got the wrestling ability – it was the character/persona that let her down. It was just impossible for fans to emotionally invest in her. Hopefully she’ll do well in whatever she does next

It’s not a shocker that TNA decided to release Sojournor Bolt, it’s just a shock that it took so long to finally release her. She was a below average wrestler, and never really clicked in the ring with any of the other Knockouts. It looks like they are making room for Sara Del Rey, who works her first TNA event this weekend in New Jersey.

Despite her wrestling ability, she never really got over with the fans and that seemed to be the main reason she wasn’t pushed and her work for TNA faded out until she then got released. There is no point in them keeping her with the company just to be used now and again for the odd match or segment, she’d be better off re-focusing all her time on wrestling on the Independents, where she had more success.

Thats just a cooperation between TNA and JAPW, she will defend her JAPW title there. That doesnt mean she will join TNA. If someone else would’ve been the JAPW champion, she wouldn’t have been there. But who knows… If she manages to impress the TNA bookers, then they might offer her a contract. Although you would assume that they are already familiar with her work, she almost works every show in North America, its kinda hard to miss her ;-)

I really liked her character but her wrestling skills were medicore at best sadley,if she was in WWE,I bet she would be loved by WWE diva fans because the experience she had would place her in the “real wrestler” column but in TNA,it was clear that there were many knockouts better then her so she was never recognized

this is not really a surprise,I saw it coming,Hamada pill-driving her in the KO tag title tournment pretty much put the nail in Sojos coffen in TNA

I will miss her because i loved her gangsta character and I kinda thought she rivaled WWE’s alicia fox because there looks are very similar, good luck sojo:(

with a ring name like soujourner bolt, she was pretty much doomed from the beginning

Have you people been watching the same TV show I have? Sojo was AWFUL! She was in TNA for over a year and she did not deliver a single good match in all that time. Not one! And it’s not like they didn’t give her a chance to prove herself. She had several chances, but frankly, the writing was on the wall after her absolutely H-O-R-R-I-D match with Kong at Destination-X.

I mean, good grief, if even Awesome Kong and Taylor Wilde can’t carry her to good matches then she’s not even worth keeping around as a jobber. This is a great addition by subtraction for the Knockout division.

With her stinking up the ring as much as she did, the only surprising thing is that they waited so long to get rid of her.

I kind of liked Sojo, but she WAS NOT a good wrestler. I’m not sure what people are basing this on, but I can’t recall a single TNA match of hers where she didn’t botch and/or look sloppy.

the fact of the matter is she had indy cred & didnt begin her career modeling..yet they keep knockouts like Lacey & Christy around who cant wrestle for SHXT! yet if this was the WWE releasing a diva that wasnt model-based everyone would be jumping down their throats..when it comes to the knockouts & the divas ppl are soo biased! WWE gets soo much more heat for their women’s division then TNA does. It’s annoying & im sick of it..i love the divas division but everyone is so unsupportive of it..believe it or not TNA is basically trying to based they’re knockouts on looks as well! they are following the WWE to success just like they have been since the organization opened!! ugh.

Wow.. Well to be honest I am not surprised. I actually liked SOJO and I think she was a great addition to the knockouts. I always thought that she would of gone to the WWE whilst she was on OVW and they could use her as a new Jacquline type character. I hope she does end up on the WWE as they need some new Divas.

    Look iLUVMARYSE
TNA doesn’t based the TNA Knockouts.
Christy Hemme was already on the TNA roster before The Knockouts Division started.
    LVE won’t last 6 months.
TNA is not trying to become like WWE!

iLUVMARYSE you can have indy cred and stll be horrible in the ring, She clearly needs more training to learn how to carry herself in a match because if awesome kong can’t carry you to a half way decent match theres clearly something wrong.

This is not surprising at all, nor is it a big loss to the Knockouts division in any way. She wasn’t doing anything and her absence for several months was quite telling.

She was one of the better female talkers in TNA (after Angelina and Sharmell), but sadly her in-ring work was extremely mediocre. The worst part is that she was quite good in SHIMMER, but ever since OVW and then TNA, her wrestling REALLY slipped. Her laziness in matches coupled with TNA’s lack of direction for her made her among the least notable Knockouts in the company. Every debuting Knockout in the past year has made some kind of impression on the product. Sojo just left you with this air of apathy. Wasn’t totally her fault as TNA made no effort with her. Maybe they could have made her a valet. I’m pretty sure Dixie et al gave her a trial run when she had that title shot against Kong at Destination-X. It wasn’t horrendous like Jenna/Sharmell, but it was DULL DULL DULL!! She even botched a move in the corner and basically couldn’t hang with Kong.

I still don’t know why they released Jacqueline though. For a woman in her 40′s she could still get it done in the ring and was as good as any other Knockout.

I liked Sojo Bolt’s character, but her in-ring performances were borderline atrocious. The only sad thing about her departure is that it questions the new direction TNA are facing with the Knockouts. I don’t really need to see the likes of multiple Lacey Von Erichs when the WWE have a factory that frequently processes them.

I think this release was unfair. While not the best worker, I think that Sojo brought a lot to the division. She has a certain charisma and swagga about herself that the other girls lack. In terms of ability, she was in the middle of the division. She was not nearly as bad as some people are making her out to be. She was not a botch queen and she had good showings. Her first fan encounter with Kong was great, her ladder match with Taylor was pretty good and her battle royal encounter with Madison Rayne was good as well. I hope this release can be a blessing in disguise. I hope she goes to Japan and/or Mexico for a tour to sharpen her skills and add to her arsenal. With some time spent in either place, I think she good be a force to reckon with.
