turningpoint1

TNA returns to pay per view tonight with two huge matches. ODB and Saritaylor will defend their gold in a six-Knockout tag team match against The Beautiful People. Then in what could be the biggest Knockouts match in history, Awesome Kong and Tara will battle in a Six Sides of Steel match. Who will win? The Diva Dirt team weigh in…

ODB & Saritaylor vs The Beautiful People

Erin: There’s no way in hell that Lacey’s winning the Knockouts Championship, and that’s the only way I see it going if her team won. Maybe they’d pull some strings and give it to Velvet or Madison, but it’d still be a travesty. All my inclinations are pointing me toward ODB and Saritaylor, and I realllly hope I’m right on this one.

Melanie: No chance in hell The Beautiful People will win this match. If they do, there’s something seriously wrong with TNA and we should all boycott. By no means do ANY of the TBP members deserve the Knockouts Championship and it would just make the so-called prestigious title a complete and utter joke. ODB and Saritaylor have to win this one. There’s no other option otherwise I’m done with TNA.

Steven: As I said on the Roundtable last week, this match is a train wreck waiting to happen. With the limited ring work of The Beautiful People, I doubt TNA will put all the gold around their waists. Expect ODB and Saritaylor to retain at Turning Point. If they don’t, I’ll be staying far away from Spike TV for next few weeks.

Tiffany: I’m going to go out on a limb and call this one out in The Beautiful People‘s favor.  The Knockouts title has been needing a change of scenery, and I wouldn’t mind seeing the team of Madison and Velvet hold tag team gold.  Lacey Von Erich as the Knockouts Champion would grind a few gears, and that’s enough to root for her.  She’d already a shoe-in for being a more credible champion than Cody Deaner.

Kong vs Tara after the cut:turningpoint2

Awesome Kong vs Tara

Erin: This one has been pretty standard in its buildup–Kong coming out week after week and attacking Tara. I think this match will serve as Tara’s response to those attacks–she’ll finally get a chance to have the upper hand. I see Tara coming out with the win, if only to prolong the feud and send it in a less predictable direction. Perhaps an angry, defeated Kong will only triple her efforts to get in the head of Tara. At least, I hope so.

Melanie: While the implications of the first match is ridiculous, this one could be the saving grace for the Knockouts tonight. Arguably the biggest Knockouts match in pay per view history and possibly a Match of the Year contender. I honestly think this could go either way but I’m going to with my gut instinct and say Tara. It just seems like this will be the first and only encounter between them and you have to have the babyface overcome the odds. I mean after the cage match, where do you go next? For that reason, I predict this will be a blow-off/pay-off match. If they planned to have several matches this should have been a singles match with a cage match at the December PPV.

Steven: Finally we get some payoff from this feud. And in a steel cage no less. Kong seems to be on quite the tear since ditching Raisha, so I definitely see Kong pick up the win tonight. However, expect a hard-hitting, balls to the wall matchup, as Tara won’t be going down without a fight.

Tiffany: While it can really go either way, I think all signs point to Kong as the victor of the cage match at Turning Point.  This appears be a whole new, fiercer Kong sans her former orderly, Raisha Saaed.  Tara may stand a chance, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Kong come out on top.

  1. If Lacey Von Erich wins the KO title then Stephanie, Debra, Hervina and The Kat deserve the womens title! OM this will be the beggining of the end…and If Lacey does win I hope she will last like 2 days with it!

  2. Anyone who picks The Bimboed Plasitcs MUST REALLY LIKE HAVING WOMEN’S WRESTLING TAKE MANY STEPS BACKWARDS!

  3. I personaly think that the beatiful will win the titles tonight tna doesent all ways put much thought in to the knockouts division and tonight i think could be a showing of that if tbp win. i personally think the only talented bp member is madison and if they do win i hope she becomes the knockout champion .tna has such talented knockouts such as alissa hamada it would be great to see talented women like them to get a chance at the ko title.

  4. It has been explained that ODB could retain her title, even though Sarita and Taylor Wilde lose the TNA Knockout’s Tag Team Championship. If one of the Beautiful People pin Sarita or Taylor Wilde, then they would win the TNA Knockout’s Tag Team Championship and not the Knockout’s Championship. If one of the Beautiful People pin ODB, then they would win the TNA Knockout’s Championship and not the TNA Knockout’s Tag Team Championship. Therefore, the Beautiful People could easily win the TNA Knockout’s Tag Team Championship tonight, and ODB could retain the Knockout’s Championship.

  5. TNAFan80-Is that really true, where did you hear that,TNA never mentioned that

as for the match, the big problem here for everyone is lacey,no one wants to see her as knockouts champion or any type of champion. This is really madison and velvets last chance at the titles,if they can’t win here, then it’s really time for TNA to move on with saritaylor, they will need a new team to face

Madison is the only talented member in TBP,she is 100% worthy to hold a title,Velvet hasn’t improved one bit since her debut in 2007 but her work is passible and is acceptable for a tag title run but
not a knockouts title run,and Lacey doesn’t deserve anything because can barely wrestler

overall,i’m happy with any result except lacey winning a title,i love her but she doesn’t deserve it

  6. I personally think Kong will win, because remember a few weeks ago when Kong came out and said “I’m Back”, I think the writers did that for a reason, that being Kong may be headed for a major push imo. Then again these are the TNA writers, so it can go either way. I would be happy no matter who won that match. It would be icing on the cake if, say Raisha came out and interfered leading into a Kong/Flash feud. There’s is my prediction.

  7. i’m really looking forward to the cage match. tara has a mini interview on tna’s youtube saying she’ll be bringing out some new moves tonight – i can’t wait to see them. although i’d much prefer a win from kong to extend the feud a bit.

as for the belt match.. hmm, we all know politics plays a part in wrestling and considering odb signed a new deal not so long ago, i wouldn’t be surprised to see them take the belt off her (giving the belt to odb to begin with did seem like a bargaining chip of sorts, the same way they gave tara the belt to only take it back off her when she signed a longer than six week deal). i wouldn’t actually be too against velvet or even madison holding the single title (admit it, odb is even more boring a champ than taylor was) but either way, this feud needs to end. they need a new established tag team and odb needs to find her own opponents rather than piggybacking on other people’s feuds.

  8. it just occured to me that lacey is still doing the hulkamania tour later this month. considering it’s in australia, which is arguably one of tna’s biggest fanbases (along with the uk) i wouldn’t be surprised to see lacey with the kos belt, flying the flag for tna overseas. oh dear.

  9. RKOyou, it’s the standard gimmick that TNA has used in the past during pay-per-views. One example of a championship actually changing hands in this type of match is when Jay Lethal won the X Division Championship in a Six-Man Hardcore Tag Team Match by pinning then champion, Johnny Devine.

  10. RKOyou, another example is a match that took place on Impact on July that featured TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle and TNA Legends’ Champion Kevin Nash defending both their titles in a Tag Team Match against Mick Foley and Bobby Lashley. If Mick Foley or Bobby Lashley pinned either Kurt Angle or Kevin Nash, they would win their respected titles. The match ended when Mick Foley pinned Kevin Nash to win the Legends’ Championship, however since Kurt Angle was not pinned, he retained his World Championship.

  11. TNAFan80-Thanks man:)

  12. i do hope you’re right, tnafan. i wouldn’t mind it if madison and sky were tag champions, it’s the lacey having a belt part that irks me.
