Given the rarity of a match being announced for Raw beforehand for a change, the Diva Dirt team have taken the liberty of giving tonight’s Divas Championship match a big fight feel with a PPV-style prediction post. Who will walk out of Madison Square Garden tonight with the Divas Title? The reigning champion and veteran, Melina? Or will it be the young rookie on the rise, Alicia Fox? We weigh in:
Erin: I’m hesitant to put my faith in the WWE going for a full push with Alicia. Sure, they’ve awarded premature titles before, but I just don’t see them pulling the trigger on Alicia so quickly. They’ve spent a few weeks building her up, but all it amounts to is her beating Kelly Kelly a few times while Melina watched on. This just doesn’t feel like a buildup big enough for a title change. I believe Melina will retain her title and hopefully allow for this feud to grow a bit more.
Melanie: God, so hard to call. On the one hand, I’d absolutely love to see Fox take the title but Melina has only held it so long and with Maryse’s return looming it will likely be a Melina vs Maryse programme. I wouldn’t be shocked if Melina dropped the title tonight to be honest because she hasn’t been too impressive since moving to Raw and perhaps this match is being deemed a quick fix to have her lose the title. My gut instinct is to go for a title switch and predict Alicia will win the belt. Though let me stress that I wouldn’t be surprised if my prediction is false because it is so tough to call this one; almost like a 51% to 49% situation in Alicia’s favour.
Steven: I’ve made it no secret that I’m a big fan of Ms. Alicia Fox. That said, I really see Alicia pulling out the win tonight. Melina and Alicia have had some solid showings over on SmackDown, so I’m looking forward to seeing what these two bring to the table tonight. Even if Alicia doesn’t pull out the win, hopefully this leads to a decent feud between the two.
Tiffany: I think it’s too soon for Melina to drop her title. I would be surprised to see Alicia walk out as the new Divas champion without any interference or foul play involved. While it is possible, I don’t think it’s Alicia’s time quite yet. I definitely see Melina retaining tonight.

If Maryse makes her return to meddle, Alicia has a hope of winning the belt. Otherwise, I think it’s too premature. They haven’t built Alicia very strongly in terms of character and I doubt they would bury Melina without so much as having the two meet before the first title match. Yes, they did it to Mickie with Jillian, but I don’t see that happening here. I’ll be very surprised if Melina hands over the baton to Alicia that easily tonight.

alicia earned a divas title match by winning a number one contenders match so she’s technically only bound to 1 title shot as seen by past winners of number one contenders match, so if alicia loses,then I think thats it for her push and then in comes maryse
Melina will win IMO,why would WWE make melina drop the title 1 month after she won it,alicia has not been build as a strong contender,melina also hasn’t wrestlered on Raw for 2 weeks so the outcome is obvious kinda
I don’t get all this Melina botched so she has to drop the title,alicia botched several times last week and no one is even mentioning that,WWE is not going to make a diva drop a title every time she botches a move,if that was the case,Mickie would have dropped her divas title way before the time she did

if any diva on Raw deserves to be divas champion,it’s Gail kim,we all know Gail can be an AMAZING champion but WWE refuses to pull the trigger on her,i guess they don’t see anything in her besides making the younger talent like kelly and alicia look good and lets be honest,she’s made them look like GOLD

What I’d love to see happening thoo would be; Melina defeats Alicia tonight on RAW; Alicia is the sole survivor on her team at Survivor Series; Alicia ends up defeating Melina next monday on RAW!

Judging Maryse on her match at NOC is rather unfair, seeing as straight afterwards she wne ton hiatus due to an injury.

I never thought of Maryse as that great of an in-ring worker, people just tend to make some girls look like they’re this amazing wrestlers when they can barely hit decent-looking clotheslines!
It happened with Candice, people thought she was improving so quickly [she was] but then they started seeing her as this awesome wrestler [she wasn't and never will be]! When they saw she wasn’t that good of a worker, they got maddest of ‘em all!
It also happened with Maryse, I kept thinking to myself she was good, but was afraid of this, people overrating her, they immediatly saw her as championship material, which she obviously isn’t, she’s not
that bad to be honest, she just can’t live to the expectations some people had!
I honestly see this happening to Eve! Just let her have a singles match on live RAW and we’ll see if she’s the “future of the company”…

not saying this just because im a huge fan of hers but Maryse is probably the most talented diva on the roster that came from a modeling background next to Alicia Fox..they’re both equally good at selling but Alicia’s deliverence is a bit better. As for tonights match i hope WWE isnt setting Alicia up to fall. If they’re just trying to feed Melina another opponent until Maryse returns then its really going to squash the credibility that Alicia is developing. If thats the case they should have just prolonged Melina’s fued with Jillian because they swept the fued under the rug just as quickly as TNA (LOL).But all & all i love Melina & Alicia so hopefully the deliver a good match, which im sure they will.

I hope Alicia loses tonight. The only reason she got #1 contender is there’s on other Diva heels on Raw. Maryse should return tonight after Melina wins and come from behind to slap her around a bit to declare she’s back and wants her title back.
Having Maryse feud with Eve is a waste of time. It does nothing for her.

Okay, that was like totally pointless. First of all having that idiot from 30 Rock as the ring announcer really served to de-value the match. Then as soon they announced a lumberjill match I knew Alicia wasn’t going to win, not like I thought WWE would have let her take the title anyway. The only point of the match was to setup another lame all-diva post match scrap to set up the Survivor Series match on Sun. As many have said, while some are high on A. Fox, it is very clear that the powers that be don’t feel she’s ready to be that kind of spotlight.

WWE should put all divas on Smackdown (and only keep the bellas and kelly on RAW as valets). It’s obvious the RAW writers dont really care about the divas, so why waste time on them? Put them all on Smackdown/Superstars so they can use the extra 5 minutes on RAW for more backstage segments for the weekly guest host.

@inferno Being booked for raw could mean a tryout match pre-event, and since Becky Bayless tweeted last night saying she got to wrestle in MSG today (yesterday) I’m assuming it was her.
Match was bleh, too short to do anything. Loved Fox though
