Those of you [read: the two of you] who watched ECW last night will have noticed that WWE’s resident oddball Diva, Katie Lea and brother Paul Burchill were banished from ECW after Burchill lost a ‘Career vs Mask’ match to The Hurricane. So where does that leave WWE’s Twisted Sister and brother Paul?
Should they mosey on back to Raw? Or find pastures new on SmackDown? Either way, while they may be ‘banished’ from ECW… it’s pretty much a promotion for both. And I’m pretty sure Katie Lea is grinning from ear to ear because wherever they may go, there is a women’s division!
Let’s weigh the options:
Raw: Moving the Burchills back to Raw would be instant fodder for WWE Superstars, given that both have seen competition on the Thursday night show, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch anyway. Katie however, could potentially be thrown into the women’s division where the babyfaces outnumber the heels and surprise, Katie’s a heel! Perfect scenario, right?
SmackDown: Poor Mickie, she’s all on her own and being teased about her weight. Won’t anyone save her? Enter Katie Lea — with the miscommunication teased last night between she and Paul, a verbal beration from her brother could see Katie turn babyface and leave her brother’s side and join Mickie’s. The duo have already teamed up on the European tour and Katie even pinned the Women’s Champion, Michelle McCool on one of those dates. Katie would definitely help up the numbers on SmackDown where we’re about to run out of match options.
Wherever she goes, it seems there is a spot for her in either of the women’s division — something that wasn’t there when she and Paul were first moved to ECW. Moving her to Raw would help bridge the gap between babyfaces & heels, moving her to SmackDown and turning her face provides a plausible explanation if we go by the above scenario. Perhaps WWE will swerve us and find a loophole to bring the Burchills back to ECW — or worse, quietly release them.

Move to Smackdown as a face. Although i like Katie as a heel, Raw’s women division is only used for 2 minutes matches. At least Smackdown has storylines and has better competitors. However, I think it would be hard for Katie to stand out. And the alliance with Mickie is a good option. Apparently they worked well in Germany and Katie should be a face at least for once, before the wwe decides to dismiss her, or something.

Move to raw where she’ll be overshadowed by Melina and Maryse, get a few matches here and there consisting of 2 minutes of rushed action
Move to smackdown where she could see matches weekly, be interesting, turn face, get promos, be allowed to work with divas who can work.

Paul didn’t yell at katie,at the end of the match, Paul said “I’m sorry” to katie a couple of times,these 2 are still fine but if WWE did decide to send them to Raw or SD or split them up,either Raw or SD will be fine with me

She’ll most likely go to SD! And if she does, she’ll likely end up being a face, no questions asked. Kinda like what they did with Alicia Fox, she was a face on ECW, but when she got drafted to SD! she was a heel (out of nowhere).
It’d be interesting to see Mickie and Katie work together, and what reasoning they’d make up to have them team with each other if she does go in that direction. Plus after that match on ECW I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the Burchill’s, especially when Katie looked like she was about to cry, it was easy to sympathize with her so it’d be easy for me (at least) to believe a face turn. Of course I’m pretty biased when it comes to Katie Lea, she’s one of my favorites.

nah, i’d prefer to see her on smackdown. raw has enough divas that the typical fans don’t care about, at least this way she could gain some form of fan support if she ever was to rejoin raw.
and, well, it’ll only be too long before people get bored of mickie being the only active face on smackdown. maybe she can debut during a mccool/layla beatdown on a solo james?
now i feel even more sorry for rosa.

I LOVED your storyline for the Smackdown thing, sounded really realistic would be nice to watch but hopefully that wouldn’t lead to the release of Paul Burchill, but a push for Katie Lea is a plus for me
I think wwe are hinting to send them to smackdown ever since the whole smackdown tour because she has been competing with the smackdown girls and she is doing well, also she done amazing as a face with the German fans, also helps that she knows German so she has the whole German thing going on, could do a funny segment with Maryse as heel shouting at Katie in French while Katie as a face shouts back in German….but thats if she goes to raw but my best bet is for her to go to smackdown and do your storyline plan, i REALLY liked it.

she should go to SD and turn face but only after Beth turns first and brings Katie as her and Mickie´s special backup.
because,let´s get serious,Beth is teasing and needed a face turn for MONTHS and it´s the most logical choice to turn face and helping Mickie right away…and if they turn Katie due to only one tour and 4 or 5 matches where she played as a face..it would be unfair to Beth.

redsoul: Beth can also become a tweener. Her squash matches are a typical heel thing, yet she is getting lots of cheers for it.
I hope they move to Smackdown, they not only need another face diva there, but after the heel turn of Batista and the arrival of Eric Escobar & Drew McIntyre, the men also need new faces. And during Burchill’s pirate days he got a good crowd response, so turning the Burchills face shouldn’t be that hard.
Naturally RAW needs a new heel eventually, but i kinda stopped caring about RAW (i only watch it for Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Jericho and Sheamus). So i really hope Katie doesnt end up there. And a Katie-Beth or Katie-Natalya match would be great. I want to see the old Katie, when she was in OVW and Shimmer, and thats not going to happen on RAW.

Send her to Smackdown plz send my Katie to SD as a face so she can work with Mickie. I would love nothing more than to see Katie Lea pin Michelle Mccool and b come Womens Champion and if that happens then maybe re can see a reignited Katie & beth fued form OVW…or make it even better turn Beth face and have top 3 favorite divas as faces Mickie,Beth and Katie Lea…..

Move her to Smackdown as face would be the best thing to do obviously since Mickie seriously needs help since she’s the only face atm. Split her and Paul up would be good too ’cause they don’t need each other. Katie can be on SD & Paul can be on Raw. I would like to see that. I just want her to be used properly, wrestle more, and get a huge push so hopefully they do move her to Smackdown as a face.

Isn’t Paul Burchill the only one obligated to leave ECW by losing the stipulation match? I thought Katie Lea is still ECW property unless Tiffany trades her. I don’t recall her being part of the deal.

When Paul Burchill called out Hurricane and made the stipulation he said something along the lines of ‘if you win, me and my sister will leave ECW’
And throughout the match they were commenting on how the Burchill’s will leave if Paul loses. Plus at the end of the match Paul was apologizing to Katie profusely.

First thing they should do is have Paul and Katie be on different brands. As long as they’re latched together Katie’s career is in limbo. All she’s been doing in the WWE is be Paul’s valet. Katie Lea should go to Raw and Paul to SD!. Raw needs heels and I’d rather she have a fighting chance than being another Diva feed to Michelle McCool.

Both of the Burchills have had their profiles completely removed from the WWE website. Katie Lea is only featured on the Divas page but the link to her profile is broken.

I think if Katie goes face and teams with Mickie, she could play up the misfit hero persona. Mickie’s being made fun of, and Katie knows what it’s like to be different. It just seems to work too well. Plus, I think a face turn for Katie would be the best thing to have happened to her. She hasn’t quite captured the audience yet as a heel.

Everyone thinks that Beth is going to turn face, because its really hard to remain a heel/face for a long time without becoming boring. Actually there are few people in the wwe who can do it, in my opinion and that list doesn’t include any of the Divas.

I think Katie would be best suited to go to Smackdown. Simply because lately Mickie has been picked on by Michelle & Layla and I see Katie being someone that will help Mickie out. Also it would be intresting to see Katie as a face because she can show more of her skill because WWE hardly lets any heels show off their skill unless their a power house or their name is Michelle McCool.

well,SD needs another face Diva,why they are delaying Beth´s face turn?isn´t Beth able do to a good face role?doesn´t she had all that it takes to d it?hasn´t she proved that she can work well with any Diva,and mostly Mickie?so why give what Beth needs and has been needing to another Diva?
imagine they sent Katie to SD and she helps Mickie against McCool and Layla,what will do Beth?being the guest referee between the four?she can´t have those squash matches eternelly and besides if she´s going to feud with McCool for the title she must turn face.

i think it would be easy 4 katie to turn face, shes gothic so maybe the heel divas could be mean to her, resulting in her & mickie becoming friends because there both bullyed by the rival divas

I wouldn’t be upset if WWE released Katie – they obviously don’t know how to use her to her full ability, and like Tara/Victoria could be swept up by TNA and be a major force in the knockout’s division.. if they were interested in Candice, surely they would want Katie!

It’s unlikely they are interested in Katie. Unlike Victoria she isnt a big name, so she doesnt have any name value for TNA. And although she is an excellent wrestler, there are plenty of other indy wrestlers around that are just as good, and also cheaper to hire. So she just isn’t interesting for TNA. Candice however is very well known, so she has value for them. The only possible reason i could see TNA hiring katie is when they are specificly looking for a britisch wrestler to link with Britisch Invasion.
