Raw Diva, Kelly Kelly spoke to British WWE retailer Silvervision.co.uk on the recent European tour and revealed the frosty reception she received when she was initially signed by WWE. For those not in the know, Kelly along with Alicia Fox were scouted after Vice President of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis saw them in a catalogue.
What was your initial reaction when the modelling agency that you were working for told you that they had been contacted by WWE?
It was a little shocking like “Oh my gosh”. I never thought in a million years that they would have known who I was or that they would have wanted me to work for them. So when I got the call, I dropped everything. I was going to college, it was my first year and I dropped everything. I left my family and moved to Kentucky and was like “this is the dream of a life-time”.How did the wrestlers of OVW react when you turned up with no previous wrestling experience?
I was the first model that had been hired and brought down to a training facility so, of course, they had their judgements. But I knew I had to get tough skin and that I wasn’t just a pretty face and then I got in there and wrestled with the guys. They got used to me after they saw I wasn’t just there to look cute. I earned their respect.
Kelly, who was once pictured peeing in a sink, has come a long way and seems to be more mature and handling her fame very well. She’s actually humble and I liked this interview. I just lol’ed about the title question, because I really think that she won’t have a title shot very soon. Honestly, I think she’s going to end up like Torrie. Working a lot of years in the company but never having a belt.
Anyways, keep training Kelly Kelly. You are improving your craft and maybe one day you’ll have a nice push.

The peeing in the sink thing was done when she was getting drunk and rowdy with a bunch of other girls she is friends with, was probably just a joke to make a funny photograph.
She has come a long way since her start in ECW and I really like her, despite all the cynics who stereotype her and put her down, she has such a bright, sunny, bubbly personality – she lights up the whole arena when she enters with her smile and is very likeable in my opinion.

I find it funny how in the interview, she describes Stone Cold as ‘cute’.
I love Kelly. I think she’s improved loads, and is still improving. I’m glad to hear she agrees that dancing wasn’t her thing…
