I agree w/ divafandom! No diva action is horrible for the divison! And what’s with Beth Phoenix?! Two weeks straight not appearing on SMACKDOWN! Bring in April Lee! Maria needs to return ASAP!
Dark Match
* Kaval defeated Paul Burchill (w/Katie Lea). Kaval worked previously as Low-Ki. He won the match with a standing stomp off turnbuckle.

Kind of a disappointing Smackdown. I was hoping they were going to make up for the poor showing on RAW.
The divas division is going down and down than it would go back up than down again. I don’t really think WWE respect the divas if they boss don’t care about them (divas) why should the fans care?
No Beth with her local jobbers? They could have some type of match. I thought the diva trade was for the divas to get better and better storylines but nothing change. RAW still have 2 minutes and now SM are not having any matches. Since the trade this like the third time SM divas haven’t had matches.
But yeah I’m disappointing with no matches this week for the divas; hopefully next week could be better for both brands.

Couple of sites reported that the locker room wasnt happy about the “Piggy” segment, maybe they decided to call time out for a week and calm things down or drop the angle altogether.

The Womans Champion, Smackdown’s Brand Champion hasnt wrestled a match on Smackdown since Oct 6 vs Eve……7 weeks and counting. Thats amazing. How do you get a character over by not working on tv ?

Mickie/Melina Diva Champions have worked every Raw in ring, all the Champions on all the brands work on tv. Mickie being the only face is part of it, the trade didnt balance the shows out……but still,

so i expect her knee to be healed by now so i doubt that’s the problem

Since Maria’s not around right now and Mickie’s the only face on the brand, the only match she could have is with Mickie. They obviously don’t wanna give that away for free on TV, at least not JUST yet when the feud’s only just starting, so I’m happy they’re not having Michelle wrestle right now. Good things come to those who wait! :D
There’s got to be something going on. This isn’t normal at all. I could understand them not having Mickie and Michelle fight right away, but for them to completely drop the Beth matches like they did is just…weird.
All these trades have really messed things up. The WWE should just admit they made a mistake and revert everything back to what it was in 2008. SEND MARYSE TO SMACKDOWN! No one on either show has any in-ring chemistry with anyone else anymore.
There were only 4 matches on Smackdown, so they could’ve easily added a diva match if they wanted to.
to be honest, with natalya rarely used and mccool only seeming to wrestle on ppv these days, i’d rather have no match than another possible layla/mickie bout. even beth’s squashes were starting to get too formulaic, which is a shame as i’d have liked for them to go somewhere with that angle – even introducing a new diva taylor/kong style.
all the smackdown writers really need to do is push natalya and turn beth face. most of their problems could be fixed that way.
The stupid part is that what Mickie said was a little bipolar. Bla Bla Bla, it doesn’t matter if they’re childish, I’m here to stay, however I’ve been crying like a baby? That’s kinda nonsense. Anyways, Lets hope that the next shows are better than this one.
forget bipolar, mickie’s almost had a personality transplant considering the way both she and beth acted with mccool when the trade first happened. hell, even mae young stood up to michelle!
Funny thing is that Beth acted like that with Mccool and yet she didn’t have a real confront with her…and worse, they put them in the same team. I honestly think that this angle is going to end at TLC or even earlier. I mean, is kinda obvious they’re starting to go dry on ideas in how to spice this feud up and make it last longer.
This is the writer’s version of back-pedalling, fans or the locker room hated that segment and now they, if anyone is bipolar its them not Mickie. Also I love the fact that the locker room did voice their hate of that segment, it shows Mickie is extremely respected, which she should be.

I think is kinda obvious I was referring to the persona not her in real life, especially since this is a thread to comment the script, not a thread to discuss Mickie herself. So yes, I know that the writers wrote that, but it was Mickie, the character, who said it. When you see a movie or read a book you probably think: oh this character sounded like a idiot, you don’t say: Oh Spielberg sounded like an idiot.
To Ana_Nattie_rules: I know you’re talking about the character, Mickie, I doubt anyone of us knows her personally but the writers are not doing a good job. I kinda had high hopes for this week after Survior Series but after RAW and no match on SD my hopes are gone, maybe next week will be better.
Well, we all know that WWE lately erm…kinda sucks with storylines. Maybe they should worry less about spending money in thousands of outfits and photoshoots, and hire a good writer.

Yeah, me too. she would have been a better asset for the Heels team instead of Jillian. Or maybe instead of Beth. You know what would have been cool? Beth refusing to team up with the Divas and coming in the end to kick Mickie’s and Michelle’s ass. That would have make so much sense, since she was beating not only the Champion but also the number one contender. Then, we could have a Triple Threat at TLC, end this stupid storyline and a new champion (I don’t like very long title reigns)
It looks more like SD! Diva division has gone WCW Nitro. The story lines change or get dropped every week, so they don’t make a bit of sense. Beth starts crap with Michelle and nothing comes of it. Beth tears through 2 jobbers and that also suddenly disappears.

The WWE could have at least given us a Beth vs Natalya match just to be different. That’s something we haven’t seen before instead of the 50th rematch between Cryme Time vs The Hart Legacy. Beth could have come out and say she tired of lackluster opponents and call out that she’ll face anybody in the back. Out pops Natalya. What makes this work besides the new pairing is both are neutral, so nothing really comes out of it storyline-wise accept a solid match where Natalya shows she can keep up with Beth and spotlights both women’s talent.
It would also acceptable and better for Beth to face off against a male wrestler like; Charlie Haas, Jimmy Wang Yang or Slam Master J, but it’ll never happen. I miss the good ole days of the WWE where Divas fought male wrestlers. The WWE being PC and PG blows! I’m glad I have great matches like; Lita vs Spike Dudley or Ivory and Jacqueline vs Dean Malenko recorded on DVD/tapes (I’m in the process of transfering them from tape to DVD).

After Beth attacked Mickie at Survivor Series did anyone else think they may have a match to settle that? I don’t like this whole 4 heels/1 face/1 Maria situation. Maybe it’s time they bought in some fresh meat… like Serena Deeb/Mia Mancini. She hasn’t been on FCW for a looong time.
