If, like me, you watch SmackDown only for the Divas, let me save you the trouble: Mickie’s not leaving SmackDown. Yeah, that’s all you need to know. Seriously, no need to even watch the show — just read those four words and you’re good to return to your Thanksgiving-induced food coma or Black Friday shopping.
However, if [also like me] you’re a glutton for punishment and force yourself to sit through the show anyway, you can watch the clip below:
So what have we learned from this? Mickie’s not leaving SmackDown. But wait… did anyone actually think she was?
It’s a nice change to see Mickie, once a mute Raw by-product, be given some talking time on SmackDown over the past few weeks. And an interview nonetheless! It reminds me of the good old days, like that time Lilian interviewed Trish and then Jazz attacked her and broke her hand, but I digress.
However looking beyond the unconventional, the segment was far too short to really mean anything and suggests whoever scripted Mickie didn’t spend a lot of time writing it. Proof: even in a 30 second interview, Mickie repeats herself.
I officially render this week’s SmackDown a dud.

I think the Raw divas are better,besides mickie,NONE of the SD divas interest me at all.michelle hasn’t wrestlered on smackdown in almost 2 months,Mickie is the babyface so no diva tag matches,layla is just michelles sidekick/jobber,Beth doesn’t even have a direction,she had a few squash matches but that appears to have been dropped,and natayla rarely wrestlers
such a lackluster week for women wrestling,not even the knockouts delivered this week

Its seems something that they give up on their women talent. Its just like: “make sure you look pretty for 3 minutes and then let the male wrestlers shine”

By watching this, it makes me think that WWE just jumped and forgot all about the Divas Survivor Series Match.
It was a good interview and just to point out, the last few weeks Michelle & Layla have been pushing for Mickie to leave SD. I liked it and it was great to see Mickie talking. Also Mickie looked fantastic and hot.

This was kind of a pointless segment but I guess it was just to show people that Mickie isn’t gonna give up and will be fighting back… it’d be better if she showed Michelle McCool how to really push someone to the limit like good wrestlers do. By beating her face in!

I guess they are just spreading this out as far as they can. Of course they wont give us the goods ( Michelle vs Mickie ) just yet. We already saw Mickie vs Layla last week and Mickie vs Natalya after that. They could have spiced the interview up more but oh well, there’s always next week lol.

Who says they dropped Beth’s squash tour? Maybe Beth wasnt present that day, or maybe the jobber cancelled? Or maybe there just wasnt enough time to fit that match in, or maybe they just want to let it rest for a week. Kinda early to assume they dropped it completely.

It’d be nice for Mickie James to display some of her own sense of humour in the feud with Michelle McCool and Layla. The writers need to give her some sassy, sarcastic one liners rather than have her look like a simpering mess. Perhaps Mickie could even sing a funny country ditty in ode to Michelle like the Rock once did to Steve Austin. Haha.

These past few months for both brands have kind of sucked, but the one thing I like about McCool’s feuds is that, she always backs up what she says in the ring. Both Mickie and Michelle are incredible wrestlers, so with all the ridiculous build up they’re giving these two, it better lead to something good. Like Michelle and Melina’s feud always did. Their matches were never a disappointment.

If the wwe is going for the ‘ridiculous’ aspect with this feud, then they should have Mickie do something to pwn Michelle. These ‘pranks’ are just starting to get uncomfortable.
Come on, Mickie. Obviously, words mean nothing to these two girls. You’ve got to get in there with some action!

with mickie saying she’s not leaving, it makes me wonder if she might be. they could be setting the inevitable michelle/james match as a title vs career match, with mickie set to supposedly retire soon it could be mccool who “forces” her to.

Hi all…here are some interesting notes from tonight’s Smackdown / ECW house show in Upper Marlboro, MD:
1) It was a very small crowd…I’d say 60% full and the arena was tiny to begin with.
2) The roster gave a good effort even with the small turnout.
3) Mickie James pinned Beth Phoenix in the only Diva match. (Bummer) I will say both girls gave a great effort tonight and Beth did her best to fire up the crowd. Actually, I don’t think I have ever seen her so animated. Mickie got the pin with her flying DDT-type move. This match looked very similar to their RAW match for the Divas title a few months back with Beth dominating most of the match and then Mickie scoring the win. The crowd was very anti-Beth (except for 3 of us…my family haha) and really cheered for Mickie. Solid match by two good pros.
4) Cryme Tyme defeated the Hart Dynasty (in their 2,450th match this year) – but the best part was that Natayla was crazy outside the ring…she got people yelling and screaming at her all match long and totally sold the Harts…but the real surprise was MARIA was in Cryme Tyme’s corner. What?!? I knew she was coming back soon, maybe this coming Friday night. Anyway, she and Natalya got in a great catfight outside the ring and then Maria celebrated with JTG and Shad after the match. Gotta admit, Maria looked gooooooood.
5) CM Punk LOST to Matt Hardy in an upset in my opinion. Good solid match, although the interesting note was Punk was wearing Beth’s tiara. It fell off her head during her match and I don’t know how / why but Punker was wearing it during his pre-match promo (we are all degenerates compared to him LOL) and he even “flipped” into the ring like the Glamazon. He kept it on during most of the match. I was confused and excited all at the same time.

Though it was a blink-and-you’ll-miss it segment, at least it was input from the Divas which is more than can be said for Raw these days. It seems creativity wise, the shows have switched from Smackdown being gimmick matches and eye candy with occasional action, to it actually getting some storylines and Raw going in reverse. To be honest, whilst I like the screentime the SD Divas are getting, I hate the basis- I hate the fact Mickie has just dropped the Divas title and is now in the Womens title picture (which is what angered me when they did the same with Melina) and I was far more looking forward to Michelle vs Beth and Michelle turning back to face, because if there’s anything worse than face Michelle- it’s heel Michelle.
Mickie has spruced up since her dip towards the end of Raw, but she’s just boring. The only thing that keeps her going in her bankability/popularity with the fans, though if they turned Michelle face again, it could match up as Michelle was the top face of SD at one point, plus when Maria comes back there’ll be 2 faces to 4 heels. I like Layla’s part in the feud, though it seems recycled from Michelle and Alicia Fox. It’d be nice to see Natalya multi-task in storylines with the Divas and the Hart Dynasty rather than interchange for no reason. I just hope all in all, Mickie doesnt win the title back though seeing as Michelle’s held it for a while now, I can see this nightmare come true.

- Mickie James beats Beth Phoenix
- Marie is with Cryme Tyme. Guess she will be the new Eve in backstage segments
- CM Punk used Beth Phoenix headband+entrance in a parody. I wonder where they will go with that.

Well, I honestly hope the CM Punk thing doesn’t mean that Beth is going to be is valet. But an associate would be interesting. I mean, Beth could be put in matches against men, rather easily.

I doubt that its going to go anywhere, Punk is already having Gallows laggy him around, unless they’re trying to find things for Beth to do, they’ll keep her in singles action. Plus, why would it be so bad if she was with a man that wasn’t used as some joke? It’d break down the shemale references and Beth can be a pretty good manager, its not like she’ll get anywhere beating up Maria every week until the nightmare of Mickie James still hogging the title picture spot, is over.
