Raw Redux (November 30th, 2009) – The Greeks Take Troy (Again)

Following Maryse‘s turkey-costumed return, fans came to a general consensus that it was pretty disappointing. But with this week came the opportunity to add some legitimacy to this blossoming feud. Would Maryse deliver, or would she–like the turkey she disguised herself as–not even get off the ground?

We begin the night with an entrance by Melina and Gail Kim. The feed cuts to Maryse and Jillian walking backstage, only to be stopped by Josh Matthews, asking Maryse what provoked her to attack Melina last week:

She explained her motives as this: Melina was holding her Divas title (not that Mickie held the title long before Melina and actually won it from Maryse in the first place) and provided a Trojan Horse, which for Melina turned out to be the turkey. I don’t want to go all history nerd and explain the many ways in which that makes no sense, but really.. I know the common usage of the Trojan Horse metaphor is with a “any trick that causes a target to invite a foe into a securely protected bastion or place”, in reference to the tale of the Greeks hiding inside of a giant horse that they left outside the gates of Troy, which when brought inside the gates (as a victory trophy) allowed them to overtake the city at night and win what has been a 10-year siege. But is the WWE ring really considered a securely protected place? Maybe the fact that Melina let the Gobbledy Gooker stand behind her qualifies as that, but that’s stretching it quite a bit. And, correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t accepting the Trojan Horse (and ignoring the warnings of others) a sign of vanity? They believed that the Greeks were surrendering and accepted their “victory trophy” without suspicion, and were ambushed and slaughtered for doing so. I doubt Maryse was preyinf on Melina’s vanity with her scheme.

Either way you look at it, Maryse’s metaphor oversold the thing to a ridiculous level. It actually managed to make it look even more stupid, as she (AKA the WWE’s writers) tried to sell it as some mastermind’s trick. However, when the trick involves one party dressing up in a Gobbledy Gooker suit, I think trying to make it look like any sort of “master plan” is more foolish than the idea itself.

But enough of that. Maryse says “gobble gobble” to Josh (which I guess serves as a goodbye), which Jillian sings in repetition, and the two head to the ring. Melina and Gail’s reaction to this says it all, mouthing “wow” to each other a few times. As Maryse and Jillian make their entrance, Michael Cole recaps how Maryse lost the Divas Championship at Night of Champions and–rumor has it–when into a state of depression following her loss. What a crappy excuse.. I mean, is it really that hard to just say she got injured–which she actually did? All that does is perpetuate the stereotype of the “fragile woman”. Though, Maryse’s character is approximately 99% vanity, so such a blow to her ago could probably crush her in such a way. But still, around 5 months on the shelf due to depression? That’s treating pretty lightly what in real life is a big deal–a serious mental illness. But I guess, as we’ve seen several times already this night, analyzing the WWE’s motives is a lost cause.

I really need to stop sidetracking this thing. Let’s get on to the match. Both Gail and Jillian need to hold back their partners, as there seems to be a lot of fire-spitting going on. Melina’s certainly got her game face on. Shockingly, Melina and Maryse are to start the match. However, un-shockingly, Maryse backs away before Melina can even land a blow and tags in Jillian. Melina yells at Maryse to get in the ring, but Maryse just taunts her with a hair flip on the apron. Melina charges at her but is too late to make contact, and Jillian takes advantage of this distraction, rolling her up for an unsuccessful pin attempt.

Melina clotheslines Jillian and, with two seconds to breathe, she uses them to yell at Maryse some more, irish-whipping Jillian into the corner and hitting a monkey flip, tagging in Gail just before hitting the move. Gail climbs the turnbuckle, hitting Jillian with a flying dropkick and going for the pin, which Maryse breaks up. Melina is seething on the outside, and I have to say that Maryse is doing a good job of egging her on–it’s a good dynamic. Meanwhile, Jillian picks up Gail and plants her with a sidewalk slam, then hitting cartwheel elbow on her. She goes for the pin, but gets a 2-count.

Jillian tosses Gail across the ring by her hair, and Maryse is finally ready to be tagged in. Jillian gives her the tag and she glides into the ring, showing some attitude to the referee and stepping on Gail like she’s a piece of garbage. She gets in Melina’s face, but just out of range of her flying fists. Maryse turns her attention back to Gail, who she picks up, talking plenty of trash. Gail reverses her hold into a neckbreaker, quickly tagging in Melina.

Melina goes on a flurry of offense, taking out some of the excess frustration by screaming as she does it. Maryse finds herself prone on the ropes, and Melina preps for her attack, screaming literally like a wild animal ready for the kill shot (what would she be, a jaguar?). She nails Maryse in the back with her knees, then taking her down with a spear. Jillian enters the ring but Melina stops her, irish-whipping her right into a vicious clothesline by Gail (damn, it was like she came out of a cannon!). Maryse reverses and irish whip into the corner, but when she charges Melina catches her, mounting on her back and prepping for the Last Call.

However, when she flips forward Maryse hangs on to the ropes, and Melina’s the only one who hits the mat. Maryse drags her to the middle of the ring, planting her with a DDT and pinning her (uniquely, I must say, but effectively humiliating) for the win. Jillian and Maryse celebrate their win to the tune of Maryse’s techno theme.

The match, as has become the norm, was ridiculously short. But still, I felt they told a decent story with the time they were given. Maryse taunted and annoyed Melina to the point of her screaming from across the ring, and you could actually feel her frustration. Thus, when Melina finally got tagged in, it felt good, and her flurry of offense effectively demonstrated her caged anger busting out. The pace of the match certainly rushed that part and made is less effective than it could have been, but Maryse ultimately pulling out the win with only one move executed only serves to frustrate the audience more, and that’s a good thing. Maryse might be hiding some ring rust or an overall lack of ability, but she is supposed to be the type of heel that frustrates you, that manages to sneak out with wins and not deserving them in the slightest.

Think of Stephanie McMahon’s Women’s Championship reign, if you can remember that far back–didn’t it annoy you to see her prance around with a title that she clearly didn’t deserve? And wasn’t it so satisfying to see Lita beat her and take the title? That’s what I feel is going on here–Melina will be the constant pursuer, and Maryse will never be the aggressor unless she finds some way to get the upper hand without much effort. If they play this right, it could be a unique type of feud, and one that the fans could really get into. Now, if only they didn’t have the two “T”s holding them back: turkey and (ring) time.

This match was okay. Felt a little rushed. It could’ve been longer without Melina’s screaming and running !

The match was pretty boring IMO. Gail was the best one of the divas. Her flying dropkick and her jumping clothesline was awesome. Gail is the one that deserves a title push, not Maryse, but I bet they’ll give it to Maryse. Maryse was boring, did she train at all when she was out??

Gail Kim should have done more work for the face team, with Melina taking the pin. Melina’s been sloppy of late. Gail seems to have found her footing again, but she isn’t being used enough. It’s obvious Maryse is gonna take the title somewhere down the line. Just hope Gail is next line for a push when that happens.

Jillian was OK and Maryse served her purpose ringwise. They need to get Katie Lea on RAW so the heel side can get some credibility.

While I’d rate a number of Divas ahead of Maryse in terms of wrestling skill, none of them can do character like her. Her mannerisms and demeanour are like an actress’. And did you hear the nice reaction she got?

YOU CANT DENY WE ALL WANT TO JILLIAN AND GAIL STOP HOLDING MARYSE AND MELINA BACK!
there was so tension in the ring from the interview
YOU CAN SEE MELINAS FACE WAS LIKE: “IM SO GONNA PIN THAT FRENCHY”
AND this is the 1st TIME EVER!!, MARYSE DOESNT FLIP HER HAIR!!!
SHE ENTERED THE RING, STRAIGHT WAY TO MELINA AND SAID “GIVE MY TITLE”

come on people, here is the feud building we were looking for, dont start bitchin right now..

The only reason i remember this match is because of Gail Kim, She got the crowd going with that flying dropkick, neck breaker and clothesline which came from out of no where. This is why Gail Kim is the best diva in the wwe, she does so many things in a span of 3 mins and makes people cheer and go crazy, I hope after this whole lame feud with Melina and Maryse is over, that Gail gets a title shot. One little mistake and she is out of the title picture, but I think with her performance last night she will get another shot. Gail Kim is so underrated it is sickening, she should be the top diva and with time I think she will. I dont know but Maryse is so skinny her boobs look like torpedo’s, she still is really pretty. Also Melina screams are so freaking annoying she sounds like she is in pain and Jillian no comment. We all no where this feud is going Maryse will win number 1 contender ship match someway some how and face Melina on one of these Monday night Raw shows and win. I wish they would move Gail Kim and Alicia Fox to Smackdown and Move Maria to Raw have the divas who can actually wrestle on Smackdown.

I don’t know why people are saying the match wasn’t good, that was a GREAT match, the work was solid and very entertaining,IMO the Raw divas own the SD divas, the Raw divas are more young and fresh talent, most of them are never in the title picture so whoever the Raw creative choses, the fued is fresh

Melina showed why she’s a good divas champion, she makes all her fueds worth watching
Jillian was great, her work was solid and it was obvious she carried her team,it’s nice seeing jillian wrestler more
Gail was on fire, seriously she should be the next divas champion, she can bring so much presitage to the title,I just know it but will WWE ever pull the trigger,i hope….
Maryse was maryse, more flaunting then wrestling,i still can’t believe she held the divas title, she can’t do anything in the ring, she looked very lacey von erichish

RKOyou- No way are the RAW divas better than the Smackdown divas. SD has the better writing, and they get way more segments. Also, the matches are 10 times better than RAW matches. SD actually gets mic time. RAW is too busy caring about their main eventers and the celebrity guest hosts.

    December 1, 2009 at 8:46 pm

I thought that the match was around the average for the Divas, but a little too short for my liking. I would’ve booked Maryse to reverse Melina’s finisher into a pin where she held the ropes for leverage, and then have an all out Diva brawl possibly?
I also thought that Jillian and Gail Kim had very good chemistry together, and a program between them would be good.

    December 1, 2009 at 8:48 pm

Gail Kim was the highlight of the match.

I can’t get into Maryse and Melina feud because I know their actually match going to be nothing and boring. Yes, Maryse have a great character thats it. When people say Maryse name they just say her character not her wrestling skills. So, I could care less what happen in this Melina vs. Melina because 9 out of 10 it going to be just like the other pointless divas feud with the awful matches.

People say that she is good on the mic that backstage promo was freaking awful.

I am so tried of people shitting on the RAW divas we have to take it for what it is that and that there is youth movement going on in RAW.

RAW divison is more fresh and exciting the wrestling might not be as solid but on SD you know what you are going to get.

SD has the older divas who had their opportunity except for Natalya and RAW has the younger ones

WWE is trying to build new stars on that divas roster which is why Maryse, Gail, Alicia, Eve etc are on the RAW. Melina is now the number one girl on that roster because she has proven herself to deserve to be the top diva on RAW. I hope Nattie moves to RAW because she is needed there to help her develop. She is not going anywhere by being on SD

This week’s RAW was interesting and i hope it stays consistent

People take RAW for what it is and that is a youth movement for the divas

The match was good although i think Gail and Jillian made the match.

    December 1, 2009 at 9:02 pm

xxChristinaxx- I know she didn’t do much, but I’m thinking that she is out of shape ring wise. From taking the neckbreaker from Gail and the spear from Melina I think it made her tired. She really needs to get back to training.

  • xxChristinaxx
    December 1, 2009 at 9:11 pm

MickieJamesFan07: She have to very out of shape to be that tired. I agree she need do more training

  • Ed
    December 1, 2009 at 9:32 pm

Well, that was lame. Gail & Melina were fine, but it was pretty boring when the heels were on the offense. Still, it might have become a good match if they’d given it little more than 2 minutes and change. Unfortunately, that’s about all the time the divas get for their matches these days.

Seeing as it’s Maryse’s first match since she came back, you’d think she’d want to do more than ONE FREAKING MOVE. What are people saying she got tired for? She didn’t do anything to tire herself out. She posed and hit a DDT — that’s it. She must be really out of shape if she faints after that. I hoped she would’ve done some training to expand her move set while she was on the shelf. No such luck.

  • Looking Glass
    December 1, 2009 at 9:35 pm

Maryse has been training for a few weeks before heading back in the ring, it was noted she was testing her stuff out at FCW (Not televised) she probably wasn’t tired but thinking of which one of her five moves and taunts she hadn’t used already- but the match in itself was pretty ‘meh’. I don’t see why people are getting all Da Vinci Code about the Trojan Horse comment, I guess she was just trying to state she dressed up in a disguise like they did with the Horse and invaded the enemy before attacking, there’s no need to start trekking down to the lab for psycho-analaysis, WWE don’t think ‘that’ in depth.

Seemed a bit weird Gail was in the match as opposed to Kelly Kelly, its just like they’re tallying up Gail’s losses whilst Kelly gets roll up wins over on Superstars. Gail did perform the best in this match, she really does need a heel turn, but as long as Maryse is there- officials won’t use anyone else. Jillian was okay in the match too, nice to see her not completely get ran over by Melina who used all of 5 moves in the match, however that was still more than Maryse who as far as I remember only DDT’ed Melina for the win. I said it somewhere and I’ll say it again, it only seems like the WWE cares about the 4 M’s- Melina,Maryse,Mickie and Michelle- anyone else can hang off of someone’s arm or be a laggy, because the current womens picture is just a reverse from the picture from Night of Champions. Its becoming a bit of a cliche now.

  • Bdawg0701
    December 1, 2009 at 9:47 pm

The match was average, IMO. The promo before the was… WOW. Erin is right about Maryse. She’s that heel that pretty much loves to annoy the hell about of the fans, and fellow Divas, as well. Maryse is equal to New York from Flavor of Love, to where all the girls just go crazy on her, and slap her and pull her hair out, which is entertaining.

BTW did you alll see when Mark Herny squashed Jillian with his big ass? Jillian looked like a dead body from crime investigation scene. I was ROTF when that happend. Poor Jillian.

And the Bellas, Kelly, and Eve dance with Mini Me? Who cares, really? It’s obvious that WWE is using Eve as an eye-candy centerfold, which is a waste for the so-called future of the Divas division. Eve needs to go back to SD and help Mickie take down the heels on the roster, because Raw got way to many girls on the roster.

    AND WHERE’S MY GIRL, FOXY!!??

  • RKOyou
    December 1, 2009 at 9:49 pm

Looking Glass-lol your right, the current fueds are just a switch from night of champions, the babyfaces just switched places

I’m hoping this Maryse/Melina fued is short,I’ll die of maryse gets another divas title reign, she doesn’t deserve it,i hope Melina drops the title to Gail

The divas title is the last female title on gail kims list, she wins that and she officially makes history of being the first and only women to hold the womens, divas, and knockouts titles

I’m surprise nobody has reported Maryse re-injured her legs last night. you could tell after her match After her match she was holding on to the rope acting like she was posing but you could turn by her face she was in pain and was holding herself up from falling then finally she did fall and needed help from jillian to get to her feet.. with how much this site has been looking forward to her return you would think this would be reported here.

Either way no big deal. Maryse is very lucky her injury wasn’t as seriously. but next time WWE needs to be careful not to rush the Divas back too soon. or else they could end up being like Candice Michelle who’s wrestling career was sideline by injures. so some of these users comments really needs to take it easy on her by saying she was out of shape. how couldn’t you guys tell she was injured from the look of pain on her face

WOW I personally think that the Maryse/Melina feud is well planned out so far. I cannot believe the way you people act on here. You all should be glad we are getting a pretty interesting feud on raw which is rare. Some of you say you want the Maryse/Melina feud to be over? Why? It’s already better then the BS feud with Alica Fox if you can even call that a feud. Also another thing, I know Maryse isn’t that great but she def has proved in the past that she can get it done in the ring but you people seem to bash her each and every moment you can. I don’t understand that? She is a snobby heel what do you expect she is suppose to do limited moves to belittle her opponents (I agree she should do more moves) but it just makes me sick the way you all down her. I personally think she is the future of the women’s division. Just look at Trish she wasn’t that great imo but you all act as if she is ‘GOD’ to the diva’s divsion. I swear I hope Maryse proves all of you HATERS wrong because it’s to the point where it’s ridiculous the way some of you guys talk about her. I’m sure I’ll get bashed because that is what half of you guys do best. :)

I was actually really into this match, for the first time in a long time I was fully intrigued by the work going on inside and outside the ring. I was fond of Jillian for the first time and Gail Kim looked like a real former champion. The work between Melina and Maryse was phenomenal. They have chemistry and I can feel a real rivalry brewing. I haven’t been this into a match since NOC when Melina faced Michelle McCool and McCool kicked Melina during her entrance. I’m really hoping that Maryse isn’t re-injured and she was just fatigued. And screw anyone that says she didn’t do anything during that match, she took a neck breaker and various other moves from Melina. 4 Stars from me. :)

    December 1, 2009 at 10:44 pm

TWA-Nitrobrand I have to agree with you I have seen the Match again and after Maryse does her hair flip thing, You can tell by her face she is in some pain and as she goes down she is covering her face like she is in agony are something, a lot of the sites are saying she was tired and out of breath, but i really think there is something more behind this. Also i do think they should of not put her in a match just a week after she is back on Raw. I know wwe is desperate for a feud but come on, I like Maryse and i think she is a viable character and diva and is very much needed on Monday Nights. Also even though she was Training back at FCW for the past couple of weeks there is a huge difference between the FCW facility and the Main stage at Raw, she was going up against two top strong divas and something may have gone wrong with her.

  • Erin
    December 1, 2009 at 11:22 pm

Looking Glass – Oh believe me, I’m not analyzing it or looking for a deeper meaning–I’m just pointing out how ludicrous it is of the WWE to describe such a lame attack as a “Trojan Horse”. It could be perceived as Maryse overselling her own cunning, but I still think it’s dumb.

  • Nick_8_
    December 1, 2009 at 11:56 pm

I’m sorry, i don’t know about some of you but i could not wait until Maryse made a return. I mean come on seriosuly, if she wasnt here, would you rather see Alicia Fox and Melina? Its just stupid, Alicia isnt ready yet. For the past few months, the Raw action has been dire and finally this week we get a half decent match, lazy in some parts agreed, but i dont think we suspect too much from Maryse on her return, she was never the best wrestler in the WWE, but she has huge huge potential. Gail Kim was brilliant, that clothserline was really something special. I think Melina should lose the title to Maryse, only so Gail Kim can be put into the title picture. And finally, i actually think RAW has something here… and i really really hope Maryse isnt injured… then RAW is screwed ! But my initial reaction to her falling on the floor was that she was happy to win her first match in over 5 months, did anybody else not think this ?

  • Looking Glass
    December 2, 2009 at 12:13 am

I hate it when people compare Alicie and Jillian’s feuds with Melina to this one here, its painfully obvious they were just something to fill the void Maryse had left behind, especially Alicia’s second shot at the title. I agree though about Maryse, she seemed to be walking fine when she ran over to pin Melina and then she swaggered off without a limp in sight, just because she fell to the floor it’s doesn’t mean she’s automatically injured and we should be writing out our own ‘Get Well Soon’ cards, that’s like saying because Goldust twitches he must be having a heart attack, even when she falls to the floor she kicks her feet around. Like Nick said above, its probably more to do with the fact she has felt the intensity of the crowd for the first time and gained her first win. Plus, had she actually injured herself, there’d already be reports about it seeing as it would be an ironic story.

Ha, was listening to the Raw Response, loved it! Especially Tiffany’s comments about Gail being the worst tagging partner, I did love it how she got up too early so she could’ve actually broken the count, yet did a faux-stumble to kill a bit of time to get the three count in. None the less, she was brilliant in the match. Re-looking at it, some of the bits look a bit stubbly, like Jillian plainly waddling in to be set up for the clothesline- if you’re trying a sneak attack, you get in there fast, but Jillian looked like she was stopping for a chai latte as she went in on Melina- found it a tad cringy.

  • kerry246

If Maryse lay down after the match because she felt faint, that doesn’t mean it’s because she’s unfit, etc, etc, like some of you are saying. I reckon when she flicked her hair she got a head rush and had to lie down. People are so pernickety about the most irrelevent things sometimes, analyzing every detail of certain Divas down to the last tiny thing…especially if they happen to have blonde hair or be a former model for example. But if the like of Melina or Gail Kim mess up it passes people by most of the time, they dare not admit their faults. Because they aren’t stereotyped by fans.

I’ve heard of WWE booking the loser of a Divas match to dominate the winner prior to the pinfall/submission so that the loser still looks strong, especially when the losing Diva is a babyface. I’ve never really noticed it, but this match was a textbook example of that style as the Melina-Maryse exchange was almost 100% Melina offense.

    Exactly.

  • ebmich
    December 2, 2009 at 3:11 am

I think the most interesting thing from this match for me was…

Maryse is doing the same bull did to Mickie with Melina. And guess what? It doesn’t even look the same. I don’t really like Melina’s “fumbling and tumbling” style (doing a bazillion different moves that look more like she’s rolling around instead of being technical), but she at least brings a geniune passion to her matches. Maybe that’s why the Mickie vs Maryse feud failed. Mickie never made the impression she gave a damn about Maryse’s clowning around.

As far as Maryse laying down.. Could be it be the rush of having her first match on TV in over 6 months? I’d be damn excited too.

ONCE AGAIN MICHAEL COLE REPORTED FALSE INFOMATION ON MARYSE. HE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR LYING ABOUT MARYSE. IT WAS KNEE SURGERY NOT DEPRESSION THAT KEPT MARYSE AWAY FROM RAW. INTELLIGENT FANS KNOW THE TRUTH.

  • Looking Glass

Hows it false information? Its kayfabe, like Hornswoggle being Finlay’s son, Kane’s face being burnt in the fire and the Bellas being talented….(okay the last could be debated) this isn’t some secret society for all those who know the truth, management obviously wanted to play on Maryse’s narcisstic nature and said she had depression to show how much hype she has about herself to become depressive after losing. It’s not at all a conspiracy theory, if you look around you’ll see people laughing about it.

Jim Molley, that wasn’t false information. WWE isn’t acknowledging that Maryse was out with a knee injury and had surgery to make it better. They are going with the direction that she was so sad she lost her belt that she went away but is now back with a vengeance and is ready to take her title back. WWE never mentioned Maryse’s injury so to say she was out with it when most WWE fans didn’t know would make it seem weird. Though saying she was depressed was weird also.

The match was awesome and all four ladies did great. I love Maryse she is the queen and ready to win the title and get back onto her throne. Can’t wait.<3

About falling down after the match, I think she was over emotional and cried. But she has to hide it becuase she is heel. What do you think? She seemed very emotional after the match.

Anyway Maryse was Maryse. Match was just really interesting. Melina and Maryse looked fantastic. Still, I want more Gail…

talk the walk, walk the walk? THAT IS A FREAKIN SONG :S

    but anyways!, let see
once upon a time she said “THIS DIVA TITLE WOULD LOOK SO MUCH BETTER ON ME”
you know what?.. after trying, losing and winning, a lot of matches!
    SHE GOT THE TITLE
AND SHE IS THE GREATEST DIVAS CHAMPION EVER!
    why?:
nobody has hold the title that long
she took the title with her in the draft (sending womens championship to SD after 8years)
she got from clotheslines, spin backbreakers, carwheels, guillotines, slams, ddts, elbows, slaps, crossbodies from ropes, dko, a lot of kicks, like 10 leg locks…
i see kick outs from a lot of finishers, NEVER FORM HER DDT

In 3 years in WWE, she started to wrestler 18 months ago, can everybody please
    got more faith?

Gail was awesome as always. I feel bad for Jillian because they continually make it to where we can hardly see what she’s capable of. I like Maryse for only two reasons: because she’s funny (whether its intentional or not) and she’s (to me) the best dressed Diva of all (and yes, she is pretty, but so are the rest). It says a lot about the WWE that things are as they are, but I’m sure there’s a reason for it. I’m not a Melina fan but I’m not a hater, either. I could like Melina so much more were it not for the screaming, but I know that’s part of her character. I understand that the WWE is giving other Divas a chance so I’m not complaining about that, but something was missing from this match.

@ DsShin: That’s what I thought, although it is unusual for a heel to show such emotion. She did the same thing after she won the title last year. I don’t think she fainted, I doubt she could have got up within 15 seconds and got right back into character with the posing if that was the case, I fainted/dehydrated a few years ago (it was so embarrassing lol) and it took me a good few minutes to come around.

About the “talk the talk, walk the walk” thing, Beth Phoenix is the only heel other than Maryse right now I think who can have a passable match and keep the crowds interest, and she’s on another show, so why shouldn’t she be the top heel? Michelle McCool is obviously pushed as the top heel overall in the company and she certainly can’t talk the talk, when she says she’s the “greatest Womens champion of all time”, she has no conviction, if she herself doesn’t deliver the lines with believability, no fan watching will buy into it, probably part of the reason why no matter through all the things they’ve tried with her over the years she is still greeted with silence. When Sunny, Sable, Trish, Melina when she was a heel and now Maryse said they’re “the” top diva, I believed them dammit! Whether it was on the mic or the way they carried themselves, charisma and personality can take you a long way.

Michelle McCool can say whatever she wants to say, as bland and as monotone as she wants. When she turned heel and totally pounded Eve and Maria into the canvas – that made me a believer into anything she wanted to sell. Charisma works, but when a girl can whoop the stank out of you – that works too.

Very short match sadly, but great input from Maryse!! Her DDT finish did however look a little weak!! Shame Gail didnt see more action but great flying clothesline in the last few seconds!! Gail for Divas Champ!!!
