We’ve compared the WWE Diva to comic book heroes before (Exhibit A & Exhibit B), but it looks like the WWE is taking a step towards making that comparison a reality. The Bleeding Cool comic book blog is reporting that the WWE is teaming up with Titan Publishing to roll out a comic book line in the US and Canada.
Kicking off the line in March will be WWE Heroes, which will feature both the Superstars and Divas of the WWE. The comic book will be set in a fictional universe and feature supernatural and fantasy themes. Clearly, this won’t rival DC or Marvel for quality, but I have to admit that I’m interested in seeing what they come up with. Hey, even if it’s crap (which I’m betting on), at least it’ll be worth a few laughs.
You can check out some sneak peek photos for the comic book by reading the full Bleeding Cool report. The cover (shown above) features Michelle McCool and Kelly Kelly next to a Conan the Barbarian-ed Triple H, all looking a bit wonky in the face. I really hope the Divas’ art will look better on the inside, because on the outside it sort of looks like a botched Photoshop filter.
So, what do you think–will the WWE’s venture into the comic book industry be a success or will it go the way of the XFL? Discuss!

I think Undertaker had a comic before during the comics boom in the early 90s.
I dont think this will be a succes in the comics scene, the writer/artists arent exactly ‘A’ material, even though they have worked for Marvel and DC (every artist has worked there). The only people who will be interested are little kids who are already fan of the people in the comic. So this comic is more merchandise than a comic.
At Marvel/DC the top selling comics go for like 100.000 copies nowadays, while the cancelling point lies around 25.000 copies, so WWE has to brainwash at least 40.000 kids to make a decent profit out of this.

they really shouldn’t taint the comic book world with this.

WWE already have a wrestler with superhuman powers immune to pain – John Cena.

The comic book world was tained the day Disney bought into Marvel (or whichever one is was) but speaking of wrestlers with superpowers, WWE possesses a mortal who can take the least amount of skill and get the furthest on it, that mortal goes by the name of Maryse….
I would make a Bella related pun, but to be honest Maryse at least has hype on her side.

This sounds ridiculous. <_< And can we please take Kelly off the cover? Thank you.

lol@spiffy
I think that it would have been more interesting to me if they had the wrestlers’ gimmick and used that to make stories, rather than having them be wrestlers AND doing these adventures or whatever. Some of the gimmicks are pretty fantastic on their own. They gimmicks should be the characters and not wrestlers at all. I already have trouble suspending disbelief about the Undertaker. lol

Actually it seems interesting to me. I remember, when I was a child, to watch a wrestling animated series (even though I only remember the animated version of Hulk Holgan).
Lets just hope their storylines aren’t as silly as the TV shows xD

I’m sorry but I just can’t see myself buying this.

Michelle and Hunter look superheroish. I guess Kelly does too, in her own little ginger way.

Michelle Mccool and HHH I can see it Kelly you’ve got to be joking she probably could pull a comical type of hero but not a very good one.
