Recently departed Diva, Lilian Garcia has joined a slew of celebrities to take part in the NOH8 campaign petitioning against anti-gay marriage laws. By doing so, the Decade Diva is the first wrestling personality to shoot for the campaign which has attracted Hollywod stars including the Kardashians and Perez Hilton. Okay, maybe not the best company but you get the sentiment.
It’s great to see Lilian lend her support to such a great cause and this is no doubt a high profile campaign to be part of. Check out the full picture below.
Sidebar: Did anyone else do double take? I could have sworn that was a picture of Kelly Kelly!

I just feel like having sex with her! There

I don’t really want to get married, but It’s a great cause to see straight people supporting gay people.
Thank you Miss Garcia

As a gay man, I have come to notice that a lot of male Divas fans are gay. Its nice to see a diva supporting her fan base. Dawn Marie and Kelly Kelly have already voice their support. Good to see Lilian taking it to the next level.
December 6, 2009 at 8:12 pm
I’ve read an interview where Edge and The Hurricane voiced their support too. As has Lance Storm.
December 6, 2009 at 8:31 pm
Jeez ! I thought that was Kelly
December 6, 2009 at 8:31 pm
I wouldn’t have thought that was Lilian if it didn’t say above. Definitely more Kelly Kelly…
Great to see Lilian lend her name to such a great cause.

@Lee – we should go on a date.
It’s so great to see the lovely lillian involved with this!
December 6, 2009 at 10:05 pm
It’s great to see her supporting such a worthy cause, but the way this campaign Photoshops the white of the celebs’ eyes in the photos bugs the ever-loving crap out of me.
December 6, 2009 at 10:05 pm
The WWE should hire whoever Photoshop’d this.

ha ha @mr_socko diva-dirt romance?
December 6, 2009 at 10:28 pm
could be a first? lol. where r u?
December 6, 2009 at 10:28 pm
by the way, my fave diva is ashley. does that mean we’re incompatible?

As a gay wrestling fan, it’s great to see more and more of the wrestling community step up and speak out for the rights of the LGBT community. Along with Lilian Garcia, let’s not forget that TNA Knockout Alissa Flash is very open and vocal of her support/friendship with gay men. Also wanted to note that Matt Striker is very proud of his gay fans, as is independent wrestler Chris Hero who recently attended the National Equality March in Washington back in October to support his best friend.
December 6, 2009 at 10:57 pm
It seems everyone on here is gay.
I heart matt striker.
December 6, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Matt striker is a republican from queens. As a liberal from queens I must say this is an anomaly and scary.
@mr_socko really? Did you see her tattoos? Gross.

December 6, 2009 at 11:26 pm
Lol, meanies… she’s an amazing person! I don’t think we’ll ever see her back on our screens though, so don’t worry.
I’m not american, but I do hate the republican party. I won’t hold it against matt though…
December 6, 2009 at 11:31 pm
Awesome Kong also showed support. It’s really a great cause!
December 6, 2009 at 11:52 pm
Very cool to see Lilian take part in this. Also great and a little surprising to see so many fellow gay women’s wrestling fans. Niiiiiice.
December 7, 2009 at 12:14 am
Its been well documented that a large portion of male women’s wrestling fans are gay.

haha, lee, where did you read that from? it wouldn’t be surprising tho.
i think i read that one of the dicks, i think tank toland or w.e. his name was, got released because he was gay? and although i am a huge fan of chris jericho, i think he has shown numerous times that he is homophobic.
but it’s nice to see wrestling personalities for the cause instead of against for once.
December 7, 2009 at 6:24 am
Tank is Jillian Hall’s fiance….so no? I think you might be thinking of Kanyon.
I used various fansites as my documentation. sorry my research isn’t more reputable. my “well documented” was a very sarah palin response.
look at this thread to find your evidence.

It is wonderful to know that members of the pro-wrestling community getting involved this way. I am by no means generalizing it but, growing up, there has always been an underlying notion (showcased by some fans that I know of) that this kind of entertainment represents unfavorable things like homophobia, chauvinism, etc. This, I think, is a step in the right direction.
Perhaps we can make a list of Pro-wrestlers we know supporting this cause or similar causes that are of great importance. That would really benefit the community such advocacies are supporting. I for one, believe that if I was on the neutral side and I find out that Alissa Flash is supporting the matter, I would definitely look in to it and start taking my pick.
December 7, 2009 at 10:20 am
she really looks like kelly in here!!
December 7, 2009 at 10:28 am
and ya agree with Lee…i noticed the same about male divas fans
December 7, 2009 at 11:10 am
Another gay man here! Woo! Good for Lilian for showing some support, there is such a lack of it in the wrestling world. I wonder what would happen if WWE ever got a gay wrestling personality that wasn’t a Backstreet Boys reject, a cheerleader, or an ex-stripper? Like that’ll happen. And I have noticed that most guys who like the girls for more than their T&A, are gay.
December 7, 2009 at 3:54 pm
Well, even though I’m straight I have gay and bisexual friends and I know how life can be hard on people with other options (not only different sexual options, but also religious, political, etc). However, Americans are lucky: they’re more free than most of the countries (at least in some stats). My country, Portugal, is still very closed minded about this situations.
Anyways, I’m reading the comments about the diva male fans being gay. Well, I honestly think that some straight men are fans of them not only for their looks, but most of them probably don’t admit it.
Anyways, thumbs up to Lilian for supporting this. We’re all the same and we all should have the same rights.

Good For Lillian Doin This, As Another Gay Wrestling I Also Mainly Tune In and Buy PPV’s To See The Divas…Although Jack Swagger, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Ted Dibiase, Evan Bourne and Todd Grisham (weird i know) are also worth watching WWE for!
December 7, 2009 at 6:16 pm
She does look like Kelly Kelly! Haha but she looks amazing!
December 7, 2009 at 6:21 pm
What is interesting to me is that a lot of gay wrestling fans I’ve encountered only watch it for the divas. Homophobe wrestling fans like to complain that John Cena/Randy Orton/insert wrestler here is only popular because the gay guys like seeing them in trunks (its also used as a qay to “insult” that wrestler), but while I would marry Shelton Benjamin anyday and am waiting for the day when he proposes, I dont even watch men’s wrestling.
I also think we should begin looking for who really tries to address social injustice in the wrestling business. I remember when John Cena first started he apologized to gay fans for homophobic raps, saying they werent his views. Thats a breath of fresh air when you have Chris Jericho using homophobic language at a movie premiere, or when you have WWE dragging Debra through the mud because she spoke out about their top star beating her or when you notice that all the black divas and knockouts are heel (kristal will be shortly).
I like that Diva Dirt gives us a place to discuss this, btw.
December 7, 2009 at 6:36 pm
i soooo wished that i had saw this b4 i voted for michelle for diva of the decade cry cry cry eveybody vote for lillian
December 7, 2009 at 7:00 pm
@lee – i see your point about the trunks, but i’d rather it were cody rhodes in trunks
December 7, 2009 at 7:28 pm
@mr_socko but Cody makes such weird faces.
December 7, 2009 at 11:02 pm
It should be pointed out that a few black Divas have been face, Alicia Fox started out as a face when she was with DJ Gabriel and Layla was a face for a while too. I think, however, both have been more succuessful and believable as heels. Kristal was a face while she was in WWE and she too seemed more comfortable with the heel persona. There really haven’t been a lot of black Divas or Knockouts so it’s easy to say “they’ve all been heels” but that’s not accurate and it’s kind of making an issue out of something that’s not really present. The WWE and I’d go so far as to say wrestling in general is obviosuly dominated by men so it’s not surprising to me the way they handle things like homosexuality and domestic abuse.
