Gail Kim may have had a disappointing year upon her WWE return but perhaps the standout of her time is this little gem from the television series for WWE’s farm territory, FCW. Gail takes on former SHIMMER standout and current Queen of FCW, Mia Mancini. Watch below:
This is a definite step up from Mia’s recent showings on FCW [AJ Lee, Tiffany] and it just shows the technical prowess of Kim, let’s be honest, she hasn’t had the best year after arguably the greatest year of her career in 2008. I think it’s sad that Gail — who as at one time a huge draw for TNA — can’t draw a big pop in a small sized arena like the FCW Arena. I really believe in her and hope 2010 is a better year for her.
Meanwhile, I hate to say it but I feel Mia, like Gail, has become diluted since joining WWE. I don’t consider many of her FCW matches to be memorable. This one is a step up in memorability, but I’d say that’s more to do with the Gail factor than anything else.

great match, especially comapred to some of the other recent fcw bouts of mia’s. it must actually be pretty refreshing for gail to go longer than a minute or two against one of the non-”models”. not to question her ability, but kim has still got it, wwe’s just been hiding it well.
still not keen on this reinvention of serena though. would love to see her move up to smackdown and join the face side within the next few months. especially if mickie’s going to be somewhat inactive due to her music commitments.
a) i doubt that gail wants to leave raw and go down to fcw so she can compete for a 5 dollar tiara…the announcing in fcw is fucking horrendous…
b) gail can’t catch a break…she goes from jobbing on raw to jobbing at fcw…i know that if gail had a problem with how she is being booked, she would leave…but as a fan of hers, i hate how she is being used…this might be too hard of a word to use, but i fell its disrespectful…if i was a female wrestler, i would never consider wwe as a employer…i get that they pay more money, but life isn’t about the money…
It was a good match, extremely boring if you ask me. Gail is great inside the ring, she’s a natural, she is a true wrestler, she, alongside Beth, Natalya, Jillian and Katie Lea is the only true wrestlers in WWEs women division.
Serena needs to step up her game in FCW, we all should know that she’s an amazing athlete, but, I don’t know if it’s the silly gimmick or the uncreative move-set, she’s really bland here in FCW!
I hope they change her to a face, she’s much better as a face, and turn her into the real high flying risk taker she is.
seeing gail kim lose even on FCW is so disappointing and heart wrenching to be honest.
the match was very boring for me,I had a hard time keeping my eyes on the computer screen the whole time,the match was very slow for my taste. Gail is seriously misused,she NEEDS TO GO BACK TO TNA,it’s obvious WWE sees nothing in her besides making the younger talent look good,she’s 33 years old and I doubt WWE would put a title on her since their focusing on the youth.WWE only signed Gail in the first place because they wanted an asian female that could wrestler well to represent in the division,it was to be more diverse

Boring match….I was so rooting for Gail Kim to win. Jeez come on not even in fcw she cant get a win thats not cool.
I don’t know what it is, but how come all of Mia’s matches are deemed boring? The matches with Savannah (someone who usually gets praise for her work) and Tiffany (someone who a lot of people usually don’t mind because she ain’t doing anything) were boring. Now the match with Gail, a veteran with a good track record… I just hope she ain’t the one who gets called up next if all of her matches have this same pattern.
i love how everyone complains about gail losing a match in fcw.just because she is a vet that doesnt mean she doesnt have to put over younger less experienced talent sometimes.yes gail loses alot on raw so what.jillian has been losing for the past 5 years and now you guys just started complaining about that.all im saying is one loss to a younger talent in fcw is not going to hurt gail’s credibility. she is well established and all of us are full aware of what exactly she can do. i admit it i hate seeing gail put into this position but i look at it this way at least wwe is doing something with her they could hold her off tv and let her sit on the shelf and get ring rust.
Serena- yes i agree her matches are sometimes a bit long and a tad bit boring.and i dont mind it at all. she working the old school style of wrestling alot of headlocks restholds and some power moves.wwe wants to build her as a powerhouse.yes of course from her stature she is way to small but its different and she pulls off the moves the right way.you dont have to be as big as beth phoenix or awesome kong to be a powerhouse. for heaven’s sake they call eve torres a powerhouse on tv everyweek and she cant do anything right to save her life.everyone is so used to the flashy moves serena used to do but there is too much of that in the wwe right now.
Gail Kim was probably thinking the entire time..”GOD I FEEL LIKE IM BACK IN TNA!!” lmao..get it?!?! because of the baby crowd & little arena?!?! haha i crack myself up! XD

What I like about this match was that it was a WOMEN’S WRESTLING MATCH and NOT a Divas match. This match wasn’t boring to me; what I saw was clear, solid female wrestling, instead of a bunch of posturing and running around, confusion, drama, etc. that I see in Divas matches. (That isn’t “exciting” for me; rather, frustrating as I mutter for them to hurry up and wrestle!) I want to see more stuff like this in the WWE but at least there are alternatives!
I don’t get why people say Gail jobs all the time, yes she does have a creeping loss count, but she does get an occasional win, thus meaning she’s not jobbing. Funaki, Nunzio etc. they were jobbers, they never got a win. I guess it’s just more moutain making. Yes, Gail’s had a rough time, but I still think she suits WWE more than TNA, in fact if it weren’t for WWE she probably wouldn’t have had such a fanbase in TNA.
The match itself was good, for once we saw Mia struggle which doesn’t necessarily take away from her dominance there. The ending didn’t take away from Gail either which is good, in fact most of Gail’s losses are from roll ups and cheating, meaning obviously somewhere back in the office still see’s her as dominant enough not to get clean wins all the time. I did find myself fast forwarding parts, but I think it was just a nice change on both sides, to see Gail just do her thing and Mia not totally dominate and finish it with the Mancini code.
Also, I’m loving the fact I’ve seen three FCW Diva matches here in the past week, whereas usually I’d have to wait months just to see one new one.
When is Mia going to be called up? She is much better than Kelly, Eve, Alicia, Layla, Maria etc. The way she caught Gail for the crossbody was enough for me to see she is quite the veteran. It was a good match, but I am so tired of seeing Gail lose. Please go back to SD! She was so awesome although Maryse dragged her down, not letting her win the title.
If Gail loses again, we riot! I cannot believe she lost to Kelly Kelly on Superstars. SCREW YOU, you suckish blonde bimbo gymnast. The only thing I am happy about is that Kelly took Gail’s spot for the past 2 weeks, dancing with the Guest Hosts, while Gail was in matches, although that looks like it’s over as it will probably be Melina & Kelly vs Maryse & Alicia (?) on RAW next week.

ReyStyle94-lol serena is not a verteran,she’s 23 years old who started wrestling in 2005 in OVW and became recognized as a wrestler in 2006,she’s not that experienced,she has more experience then the girls in your top sentence but she still has a lot to learn,i’ve seen her work in shimmer and she has a hard time keeping the match going,she needs someone to carry her,thats when she shines
Well my bad, I don’t really follow non-WWE divas, except for maybe TNA. Still, I guarantee half of the WWE girls couldn’t catch a crossbody that well (Maryse comes to mind, #1 contender’s match against Gail) or work a match that well. She should be called up, to Smackdown hopefully, where the better WRESTLERS are.
Ugh i hate how all you people who are saying I hate how Gail loses to kelly kelly I hate how gail losses to Maryse. Gail kim is an awsome wrestler and if most of you have noticed these past two weeks she has come out strong even though they both were in losing matches for her and her team I still fell she got to show some awsome talent. Gail Kim is just trying to make these young talents look a little bit credible, becasuse Melina is divas champ, Kelly x2 is not good the bellas are guest host arm holders and eve is not there yet. i am real happy witht the way Gail kim is being used she may lose but as least she is being used. Her time will come.
