New Role for Christy Hemme in TNA Due to Neck Injury

christy2

In a sad piece of news, several outlets are reporting that Christy Hemme will soon return to television — but as a backstage interviewer for TNA rather than as an active competitor. The reason for this is because Hemme’s neck is supposedly in bad shape.

Christy injured her neck while training in January 2009 and made her return in the summer after having surgery. Unfortunately, it seems like she is once again having problems with her neck, which will likely be a chronic issue throughout her career. One has to wonder if Hemme will ever return to the ring but it’s nice to see TNA sticking by her and finding her another position within the company. Our best wishes to Christy.

backstage interviewer?? I just hope it won’t be the end for Lauren as a backstage interviewer

  • kirstygrahamx

laurens voice irratates me, id rather listen to christy backstage tbh.

O.o…. I hope this doesn’t lead to Lauren switching her place in the ring. They are already teasing Lacey vs Lauren…..

I really like Christy. It is really nice of TNA to figure out something for her. She’s good for publicity because she’s well spoken and very likeable and hot. So, respectfully, I will say “She’s a moron for coming back from a broken neck so soon.”

  • PenginPenginELPS

Well as long as they still keep Lauren as a backstage interview too, I don’t see how this is at all bad news lol

Christy didn’t have surgery, she ended up deciding to have balloons inserted into her neck to help heal the two herniated discs in order to avoid surgery. (Confirmed via Christy’s MySpace)

It would appear that the four hours of iMPACT! airing on New Year’s Eve will be centered around the company’s “Knockouts.” Spike has announced that the two episodes of iMPACT! airing on December 31st, 2009 will be titled New Year’s Knockout Eve Part 1 and New Year’s Knockout Eve Part 2. The first episode will air at 7:00 p.m. EST with the second episode airing in its regular 9:00 p.m. EST timeslot.

So we may see Lacey It would appear that the four hours of iMPACT! airing on New Year’s Eve will be centered around the company’s “Knockouts.” Spike has announced that the two episodes of iMPACT! airing on December 31st, 2009 will be titled New Year’s Knockout Eve Part 1 and New Year’s Knockout Eve Part 2. So we may be seeing Lacey Vs Lauren at that event, and i think the tag title tourny will happen there as well, I personally like Lauren she has an attitude better than Crystal and Leticia

hope she gets better. looks like she was improving in the ring.

this shouldn’t affect lauren at all as christy was already working as backstage interviewer these past tapings.

christy has always been one of my favourites, even though my brain tells me no due to her lack of ability, and it is definitely nice to see her her not being released because of it. i bet she’s regretting not having surgery though.

They won’t get rid of Lauren, she is too good at her job. This is just simply something for Christy to do.

I think Christy needs to bite the bullet and just have surgery on her neck so it can get better. She tried to avoid surgery and go a diffrent rout to fix her neck, but it obviously it didn’t permanently fix it.

I’m glad TNA is still holding on to her and finding her something else to do, because she is a great talent. She is so charismatic.

“I don’t see how this is at all bad news lol”

i actually have to agree with that. she isn’t the greatest and likely never will be ring-wise, so at least they are definitely working with her strengths. she was also a backstage interviewer of sorts before the division was even created, but i still would love to see her back in a ring.

  • Macho Madness

Lauren is not a wrestler, she is not trained or anything. The Beautiful People have always had beef with Lauren, this isn’t anything new. We’re not going to see Lacey vs Lauren……

  • NT86

She’s got good babyface charisma, so I think she could valet for a male wrestler.

Not a fan but i sure hope she gets better it must hurt like hell ://

  • Goodnightddtmnm

I hope christy gets better , honestly I do but this wont effect the Knockouts division at all…I mean

  • RKOyou

I had a feeling this might happen, when I didn’t see her in the TNA knockouts battle royal,i knew something was up,i thought she injured her neck again, she should just have surgery on it because her wrestling career is sinking

    get well christy

  • xmelissaa

It must suck not being able to wrestle. Hope both Christy AND Lauren can stay in the company, as I like them both.

    Get well soon, Christy :)

It’s always sad when someone suffers an injury which affects their career even if there not at the top of the division. Christys feud with Kong was one I quite enjoyed and its a shame that she might not be able to wrestle anymore.
I’m sure she’ll do great in any other role though!

  • TheHartDynasty

Maybe this means Lauren will start wrestling lol you never now, if LVE can do it anyone can. Also I realize that Christy Hemme Poss. loves the sport of wrestling and wants to keep going but seriously come on dudes, she is not even a good wrestler so why the hell is she even going to try and come back. I fell bad for her and why would she even try to wrestle if her neck is damaged, I think Christy should just take a Bow and walk away from the wrestling industry she is very beutiful and her band HEMME is very good. So honestly i would rather see her on stage singing then backstage interviewing.

I’m actually quite sad for Christy, because while never destined to be a ring general, she always made the most of every opportunity given to her. I hope she does have some sort of successful rehabilitation, for she seems like one of the rare women with a genuine thirst to improve her wrestling craft.
