WWE’s plans as of right now for the Raw brand Divas feud is for the Maryse to come out on top in her rivalry with Melina. The move means Maryse, who made her return to active competition last month, would become the first multi-time Divas Champion.
Though plans are always tentative, we’re told that Eve Torres is being groomed as the next title challenger. Prior to Maryse’s return, there was some talk about putting her in a feud Eve but evidently WWE opted to give her a title feud with Melina.
Eve picked up her first win on Raw this past Monday and is a favourite among WWE management.

Melina has already have many titles, so its good to give opportunities to other girls, even though I adore Melina.
However, I think it is to soon for Maryse to have another title, especially since she’s kinda rusty.
Eve…I don’t know. She hasn’t shown many work, but if they build her well, then maybe. However, there are other competitors that probably deserve the opportunity more than Eve: Gail Kim and Alicia, but especially Gail Kim.

If Gail Kim has two more years in her contract (assuming she is there for three years) I do not see WWE doing anything more with Ms. Kim for the foreseeable future. Gail is supporting the Divas, making the other women look good in the ring, and still showing us occasionally what she is truly capable of. As Gail herself has pointed out … “good things come to those who wait”.

I love Eve Torres, but I think she needs to show a little more in-ring work on Raw before being put in the title picture. She may have shown excellent improvement on Smackdown, but she’s only had one match on ‘Team Red’, which doesn’t exactly show off all of her potential. I still love Eve though
I’d like to see Gail win the title next. She sure deserves it more than some of the other divas…

But yeah, I think Eve might need to have more matches even though I’m a fan too (it seems we might be in the minoritysmelissaa -;), but hell Maryse needs more matches too, and judging by their last match together, it almost looked as if Eve was trying to carry the then-champ instead of the other way around; but then again, hurt or not hurt, Maryse was never skilled enough to carry someone that has less experience, which is a shame. I really hop they step their games up and I think they want Gail at where she is now, (which is anyone’s guess).

i am a fan of eve. she shows great promise. however i think she needs to establish herself on raw with at least a few matches before getting into the title picture. i was hoping it would be gail kim vs maryse. and about alicia fox, i think shes been in the title picture a couple times recently, (while they werent longlasting) so its good to see a fresh face come in like eve or gail.

My concern right now is that for the last three weeks, the crowd has been treating Maryse more like a babyface than like a heel. In particular, on Raw Monday night, she recieved a noticable pop when Kelly introduced her and when she did her hair flip before the match while Gail Kim didn’t receive much of a reaction at all. I hope that stops soon as it will be bad if it starts causing babyface Divas to get booed or get no reaction when they wrestle her. That’s the last thing someone like Gail or Eve Torres needs right now.

not a fan of eve, but good for her! now some of you can finally stop whining about how they are not using eve blaaablaaa…! as far as maryse goes ever since she won the title it has become a worthless title imo. so im guessing WWE is planning to make Maryse the Trish of the divastitle?
& one more thing i can not wait for a Eve/Maryse feud since they both dont do anything but wrestling in a match, they have some flashy moves and thats it, its going to be hillarious yeey xD!!

I’m hoping this is not the way they go. Eve is like an Alicia in my book, starting to show herself as a contender but not quite yet championship material. Gail Kim would be a far wiser option. A former women’s and knockout’s champion, Gail as champion would add that much more prestige to the purple butterfly.

WWE changes plans like my sister changed clothes (For those that care, that means a lot), so I’m not going to all bananas about this (unlike SOME people who have already expressed sour grapes over a mere SPECULATION) I mean, this is WWE we’re talking about here. I mean, when the deuce do they actually make a decision and stick to it?
If Eve is in fact going to be the new number one contender, then as far as I know, she will be just that for now: a CONTENDER, not a champion. That might be somewhere down the line. I have a suggestion to those that are at the brink of insanity over the small fact that Eve just might get a title shot in 2010: If you don’t like it…don’t watch. I can say a whole hell of a lot more on this topic, but I’m gonna stop here.

It’s funny how everyone thought that the move to RAW was a reward for Melina and the move to Smackdown was a punishment for Mickie. Despite the unfortunate BS that was the “Piggie James” segment, Mickie’s gotten a bit of a second wind to her career. Say want you want about the storyline, but the crowd is into it. They want to see Mickie overcome.
Melina, on the other hand, has gotten royally screwed. She’s such a talented wrestler, yet all of her matches have been 2 minute botch-fests. I’m not going to hate on Maryse, but I don’t think she’s ready for another title run just yet. She’s entertaining, but she needs to get better in the ring and on the mic.

Good for Eve! She’s got the talent, but I think they should wait until Eve gets more exposure and a solid fanbase on raw.
I’d love to see Gail win the championship, maybe that’ll give the fans some incentive to get behind her a little bit.
I would also like to see Kelly with a championship opportunity. Obviously she’s not the “best” wrestler, but I think the reason behind that is becaue she doesn’t have a reason to go all out and prove herself as a serious wrestler, and if she were champion, she could show that. I mean look at trish, she got the title pretty quickly and when that day came, she REALLY stepped it up in the ring. Plus I really love the Maryse and Kelly dynamic.

Why are WWE rewarding Laziness? This chick can hardly do four moves in a match and shes getting spoonfed another effing title to top her horrible first reign that was salvaged by a lame feud where she was allegedly scared to face Mickie James therefore they stared off every week. She’s the worst diva in the ring on raw so why is she getting all of these rewards for it? Just makes no sense to me, as it’s like making why do WWE know Maria and Rosa are so bad to never get a title, but they’re giving Maryse title after title when she’s equal to them in the ring.

She is far better then Maria and Rosa (and I’m the biggest Rosa fan on the planet, check out my username). You know that wrestling is scripted, right? Maryse was not scared to face Mickie, it was a storyline. She doesn’t do as many moves in the ring as she’s capable of because she is a heel, and her character calls for her to be cocky and rely on cheating, stealing wins, running away or WHATEVER it takes to gain heat. It’s business! Not lazyness.

I think Melina’s run has been pretty boring and I’m liking the Maryse-Melina feud so far. I sound like a broken record, but the WWE doesn’t care about wrestling skill when it comes to the Divas, especially the ones on Raw. Maryse is frickin beautiful, she’s blonde, she’s French, and she’s competent in the ring and to top it all off, she is the only girl with a distinct personality on Raw. That’s why they are rewarding her with another title run, they’ve been high off her for a while. This news isn’t shocking, what would be shocking is if Gail Kim got a title run and sent all the eye candy girls to FCW and didn’t let the come back until they were true wrestlers. Ha, like that’ll happen. This IS the WWE.

If this is true, Thank God! I like Melina, but Maryse is the most entertainig diva on RAW (and the whole company IMO) so the division should be built around her for the forseeable future.
Maryse v Eve doesn’t sound very interesting to me though, it might have if they kept up the Miz-Swagger thing and incorporated that into the mix, but now it just seems boring unless they develop Eve’s character some more first, I’d much rather see Maryse v Kelly tbh if they want to push a younger diva, they seem to share some kind of weird chemistry together on the few occasions they’ve interacted with each other, and after this weeks RAW it would be a logical move.

I think Melina needs to keep hold of that belt!! Melina is one of the best females in WWE today and Maryse sadly just a character! A heel b***c like original Trish Stratus. For Melina to drop the belt now would make it lose any credibility?! Eve needs a lot more work as well maybe a mid card rivalry between her and Jillian would be better?? I think Gail needs to be pushed to the front of the Divas title chase and maybe throw Katie Lea in thier for good measure? Raw is lacking in female talent but WWE have got to use what they have wisely for a change!!!!!

Yay for Maryse. Her character is a great because whoever gets to knock her around, the crowd will love. Look at Gail on Raw. Not even flies came running when her enterance music hit and she made her way down the ring. But as soon as she was stomping on Maryse, the crowd got into it.
Eve.. I dunno. I just don’t get it. She’s very un-graceful to me. Everything about her is so brutish and man-ly. Well, at least they are giving someone NEW a chance. It’s better then seeing Mickie, Beth, Michelle and Melina all the damn time.

Wow…I’m so amused at a lot of these comments. I swear, a lot of you are actually assuming that Maryse will win the title and BOOM! Eve’s the next contender. HAHA…NOT! Melina/Maryse will go for a bit, probably til the Royal Rumble or early 2010, and Eve (at the earliest estimation) might get her title shot AFTER Wrestlemania, I think, and that’s after Melina tries to get the belt back from Maryse.

While I do think Melina’s run hasn’t been the most exciting, I blame that on the Raw writers. They should seriously take a page out of the Smackdown book because SD writing and match length is far superior.
If the Maryse rumors are true I will probably not be watching as much Raw unless she has a match against Gail; I can only take so much hair flipping and watching her matches has filled that quota for a couple of lifetimes. When I sit down to watch wrestling, I want to see action and whenever Maryse is in the ring I just don’t get that.
It’s sad to see how brainwashed some WWE fans have become. THere is something wrong with the wrestling world when they would rather acknowledge and cheer for a pretty face that can’t hold his/her own in the ring instead of someone who has paid their dues and has talent.

Eve needs just as much polish as Maryse as far as wrestling goes, so I think this idea stinks. I would rather Maryse come off worse in this feud and begin one with Eve as a secondary rivalry to a title program. A better idea would be for Melina to retain the title, since she hasn’t held it that long, and then face Gail Kim as a heel.
