The Diva Dirt Roundtable returns for a special — Best Bits of 2009! The Diva Dirt team have gotten together to discuss the year gone by, picking our favourite moments and memories. We also pick the Diva who we think will have the biggest year in 2010.
Plus on top of that, we discuss last night’s Slammy nominations non-reveal and give our predictions as to who we think might win Diva of the Year tonight.
Join us tonight on the Post-Raw Show with Tiffany and Steven tonight straight after Raw, where we’ll discuss the Diva of the Year award winner, seeing how our Slammy predictions fared, tonight’s wrestling and we’ll be revealing two more ‘Best Bits’ categories; one for ‘WTF Moment of the Year’ and one for ‘Diva Dirt Moment of the Year’.

The problem is that a poll reflects a small spectrum of popular opinion at a specific point of time. The majority of people aren’t going to be voting on who they think has had the best year (i.e. the point of the awards), they’re going to voting on who they like most during the month of December. Has Melina had a better year than Mickie? Defo. Is she more popular at the minute? I doubt it. Mickie’s riding high on the sympathy that came with the fat jokes, whereas Melina’s been involved in two non-feuds for the last two months or so, and has only just started her feud with Maryse. Had they done this back when Melina was on SD and Mickie was on Raw then I think Melina could’ve taken it (remember when she won that poll on the WWE.com by a sizable margin?), but they’ve switched places again.
Of course, there’s always the possibility that fans will rally behind Melina purely because she’s featured on the more popular TV show, but I doubt it. Either way, it’s bound to come down to those two, with Kelly Kelly as the wildcard. :/
Match: Melina vs. McCool @ NOC
Moment: Melina & Mickie as sole survivors. I thought that was pretty cool, given their history.
Aw: Melina and Mickie’s piggyback/leapfrog entrance at the very end of 2008/start of 2009 (forget which), and then their weird breakdown after the match. They were in tears. :(
2010 Diva: Kelly Kelly will receive next year’s McCool push, methinks, so her. Unless Melina turns heel, or Mickie retires.
Match of the year: Melina vs. Michelle McCool(NOC)
Moment of the Year: Was when Victoria(Tara) debut in TNA.
I think 2010 would be great year for Alicia just because she better than ALL the divas with her background in ring skills( Kelly, Layla, Maryse, Eve, etc). I just hope WWE don’t screw up on Alicia just because she don’t look like your typical Maryse. I just don’t get how they are more impress with Eve but not Alicia something is wrong about that.
I just hope 2010 would be a better year for the divas than 2009 was.
I prefer Maryse out of them all at the mo but went with Melina as in my opinion, tied with McCool, shes has the best year xD

i voted for Michelle because her and Melina
had my wwe diva match of the year at night of champions,
and Melina is likely to get 5 gazillion votes anyway so i went with Michelle
hopefully Beth, Michelle, Melina or Mickie will win as there most deserving
but if its fan based there is always the fear that maria, Kelly Kelly or 1 of the Bella twins could win
memorable moment: the woman’s title changing shows, its been on raw forever so it was a surprise.
Aww moment: Jillian squealing for her title, it broke my heart, and Lilian Garcia retiring
prediction for stand out 2010: Gail Kim or Natalya (yeh i’m not sure it will happen either :()

I think the diva of the year should have been Melina even though people say McCool
McCool has made the better impression because she got more tv time and her first reign as woman’s champion but her momentum slowed donw
Melina has had the better year she had a great match with everybody she had a match with and she has been the most consistent diva out of all them outperformed her peers and has been the diva who made the best matches for 2009.
SD matches was stagnant before Melina came and Melina spiced everything up down there
