The identity of the blonde golf club wielding assailant in the opening segment of tonight’s Raw is short-lived ECW Diva, Courtney Taylor. Courtney is currently training in FCW, which is located in Tampa, FL., the site of tonight’s Raw, so that should explain it.

The skit was obviously a reference to Tiger Woods’ current marital troubles, with Taylor playing the role of Woods’ wife Elin.

A memory that shall forever be treasured, no doubt. First last week’s VMA reference and now this? When will realise their attempts at pop culture references are not funny?

  1. I’m so stupid.
I didn’t even get it until you wrote about Tiger Woods.

  2. I was laughing hard. Not cause the skit was funny, cause the crowd was dead the entire time. WWE failed big time.

  3. the segment was embarassing to watch,I knew it was courtney taylor all along but what was the point of it?

  4. “When will realise their attempts at pop culture references are not funny?”
    Amen! Preach it baby!

  5. The plus side of that is A) at least people got it. I hate when the WWE tries to use humor and even the most informed person goes “Who?” aka whatever they called the job Dennis Miller did last week. And B) It left people wondering “Who was that blond?”.. Which mean more attention then Courtney EVER got during her ECW month.

  6. Can you imagine the brain trust discussing that segment beforehand?? “So, lets get this lame tiger costume…and have them run through the crowd to “piped in” tiger growls….and then…” UGH!!!

  7. It’s not even that their pop cultures references are not funny. It’s they happen long after people care. The Tiger thing has already been done to death. WWE is too late to the party. What’s next? A WWE Micheal Jackson bit? Vince is so out of touch and the morons running WWE around him are idiots.

My gawd the WWE writers really suck. They must feel the WWE audience are 10 year old boys.

  8. Is it me, or are WWE crowds just absoloutly dead in general these days? I remember they used to be so loud, and into it, but now it’s all a little… meh.
But that segment did bomb. Big time. Poor Courtney, at least the guy in the tiger suit got to hide his face…

  9. I think the crowds are deader than before. It used to be that at least when they didn’t like something or were bored they’d vocalize that. Remembering the ECW chants way back when I wonder if it would ever get to the point where they’d chant TNA instead. Maybe not but that would be interesting if they did. I hate dead crowds! In general Raw is becoming increasingly embarrassing to watch. What are they thinking, anyway?

  10. “They must feel the WWE audience are 10 year old boys.”

That’s because that’s exactly who they want their audience to be with their WWE Kids Magazines and WWE Comic Book series and the PG rating. It was good to see Courtney/Beverly though I wish it wasn’t for some pointless, short term segment that will end up in the WWE Oblivion never to be mentioned again alongside the WWE Cruiserweight championship.
