Match Number One: Hamada defeated Madison Rayne with a Hamada Driver.
Match Number Two: ODB defeated Traci Brooks with a TKO.
Match Number Three: Roxxi defeated Velvet with the Voodoo Drop. Jeremy Borash was going to interview Roxxi after the match, but Lacey attacked Roxxi.
Match Number Four: Awesome Kong defeated Daffney with an Implant Buster
Match Number Five: Hamada defeated Roxxi to advance to the Finals. Roxxi’s ribs were taped from the earlier attack by Lacey Von Erich.
Match Number Six: ODB defeated Awesome Kong to advance to the Finals. ODB hit Kong in the head with a bottle of whiskey when Kong tried for the Awesome Bomb.
Match Number Seven: The Motor City Machine Guns defeated The Young Bucks with a wheelbarrow codebreaker in a fast paced match. During the match, the Young Bucks were able to hit their signature moves. The crowd was behind the Young Bucks and there were chants of ‘Sign the Bucks’. This was a tryout match for the Young Bucks.
Match Number Eight: Lizzy Valentine defeated Amber O’Neal with a Tornado DDT in another tryout match.
Match Number Nine: ODB defeated Hamada to become the Number One Contender for the Knockouts Title. Kong came out and set up a table for Hamada to use in the match. Hamada missed the moonsault through the table and ODB got the win with the TKO.
After the match, Jeremy Borash came out to interview ODB and ODB said that she will get her title shot on January 4th. ODB said that Tara is a diva and not a Knockout.
Tara came out and called ODB a failure as a Knockout Champion and a failure as a woman. Tara slapped ODB and both women brawled. Security came out to break up the brawl. (Source: PWInsider.com)
Thoughts after the cut:
Melanie’s Thoughts
As mentioned earlier today, Amber O’Neal and Lorelei Lee were two of the names we confirmed last week. The initial idea was to have them work as a team, more specifically, work as Team Blondage. It looks like TNA opted to put Lee with Hunter instead.
Let’s hope Hamada wins the Knockouts tournament. No one needs ODB vs Tara again.
EDIT: What in the actual fuck?! So ODB, instead of just invoking her freakin’ rematch clause, wrestles three times in one night for the same opportunity? Lame as hell. And frankly, no one wants to see this feud continue. The match at last night’s PPV was bad enough.

Actually.. I think this special is like a year and a half late. The Knockouts.. Or more specifically Gail Kim, Awesome Kong and Angelina Love/Velvet Sky were rating monsters for TNA. They averaged at least 300,000 more viewers each time they were featured. May seem like a low number, but when the guys they use more then the Knockouts (Abyss, Angle, Jarrett, Foley) they all lose viewers.
I think this show will do around the 1.0 (which is the average iMPACT! rating).

Maybe we are missing something, and TNA Wrestling and Spike TV are “testing the waters” for an exclusive “Knockouts” television show for 2010, and are using the New Year’s Knockout Eve special as a way to see what kind of interest an all Knockout show would generate.

Oh great ODB won , when she actually already could have gotten a shot without winning the tournment. This is a bunch of bull crap. Now we have to sit here and watch ODB’s Raspy ass voice and her drunkin ass in match with Tara again. To think I use to like ODB I must have been drunk or something….

Just back from the iMPACT! Zone. Looks like you have all the results. The show was a lot better than I expected it to be, considering it was an all knockouts show. All the matches bar one where pretty good and one was great, that one wasn’t a womens match though.
The Lizzy vs Amber match was terrible, really terrible. Botch after botch here.
the tournament matches I think where pretty good, it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out on TV.

“At least tna has their own show for the knockouts, wwe would never do that in a million years and even if they did it wouldn’t be a four hour show”
Well, it’s just the normal two hour Impact, but point taken. That’s what some are forgetting while they are complaining. This will probably be the only whole show ever devoted to women at least for a long time. Vince will do this with the Divas when green pigs fly out of HHH’s butt. Which means never. We should probably be grateful WWE even remembers they have Divas. SHIMMER ain’t getting on TV. Ever. The GLOW rip off Wrestlicious is a joke. It might be on the air sometime in 2034 at the rate it’s going. TNA is the only fed trying to push female wrestling mainstream with the long term goal of a KO only show. Will it work? Who knows?
I also don’t really care about ODB vs Tara. But shouldn’t Tara and OBD get another chance? If one bad match means the end of the feud then 98% of the Divas matches would never take place since there are so many bad matches and botchfests. Do we really hold the KOs to that high a standard now? Two usually very good performers had a bad match. It’s not two barbie dolls fighting over a butterfly shaped belt.
Sara Del Rey was never promised. Alissa “might” be hurt. I would have loved to have seen Jetta, Rain, Perez, Matthews. But it’s not TNA’s job to showcase indy talent. They do need to look at these girls though.
You still are going to see Hamada, Roxxi, Tara, Sarita, Taylor Wilde, Daffney, Kong, ODB, on a free two hour show promoting women’s wrestling. And from the looks of it, there was nothing sexual or risque. Just women putting on a wrestling show. That’s progress. And maybe TNA might do this again down the road.

Fuk ODB & her druken ass lmao

Very well said Mamai, I agree with a lot (if not most) of what you said!
December 22, 2009 at 2:08 am
mamai gets my thumbs up of the week.
there is far too much bitching when we should all be thankful tna are even giving us this. hell, it’s almost christmas guys. and a two hour ko only show is a damn good present.
December 22, 2009 at 2:49 am
*HIGH FIVES to mamai and Kaledrina* I agree totally,it’s just pathetic that fans want perfection from everything nowadays,it’s just not going to happpen
this 2-hour KO show is a great christmas present and it ends the 2009 KO year with a BIG BANG can’t wait
December 22, 2009 at 4:06 am
No Alissa Flash=Fail!
It’s a good showcase for the Knockouts, but the very fact it just basically sets up a rematch devalues the outcome of the tournament. ODB could have just invoked her rematch clause anyway.
And no tag match for Sarita and Taylor?
December 22, 2009 at 4:12 am
More agreement with mamai and kaledrina. I’ll be watching – maybe if it gets enough viewers there’ll be another Knockouts special down the road. One step at a time.
December 22, 2009 at 4:17 am
At one point Sara Del Ray was scheduled for something. The thought is she couldn’t make the show and one of the other girls was a last minute replacement.

I’m still excited for it. It’s still a crazy step up to have one of the bigger companies providing even one full show just starring female wrestlers. I do hope that the Tara/ODB rematch is the end of that feud though and that Tara wins decidedly with a peak or something. It doesn’t seem to be starting the new TNA era off with a bang for the Knockouts, however I just have this feeling that Angelina Love is going to return on the live show, possibly as an interference here, and that should be huge.

“You don’t put two people (no matter how good they are) in the main event and try to sell it to viewers who don’t know them.”
thats absoloutly pathetic.. what they should of done is chose a good wrestler like daffney or roxxi, because even if they arent one of the top knockouts right now they could have been built up to look great in that tournament and would definately be able to put on a better show than ODB will put on against Tara. does nobody agree about boring ODB can be inside of the ring. every match the same thing happes, she goes around slapping them for a minute.. she does some lesbian style thing at the turnbuckles and then hits them with the fallaway slam. excited to see that^ on january 4th:|?!
December 22, 2009 at 12:22 pm
well that sucks
maybe TNA have a tag tournament still planned
they must have, as the tag titles have kinda vanished now story wise
December 22, 2009 at 1:02 pm
What a pointless tournament since ODB couldve just reinstated her rematch clause but why am i even bothering to ask myself why TNA did something that they did? I still say they just pick random non-wrestling fans off the street to book their show because it just gets more and more ridiculous every spoiler report. I will say that I hope the O’Neal/Lizzy match airs even if it sucked since I <3 love Amber. It's a shame she had to lose to Lizzy because Lizzy is awful in the ring which doesn't surprise me there was botching involved. Hope TNA can look past that and sign Amber anyways though.
December 22, 2009 at 4:37 pm
just read via dixie’s twitter that roxxi suffered a broken ankle last night. :( hope it’s not as bad as it sounds and she has a speedy recovery!
December 22, 2009 at 5:41 pm
I was hoping that Daffney would actually be involved in this properly, instead of being given which will no doubt be a squash match against Awesome Kong. She is being given minor roles as a support act for Dr Stevie every week on Impact, plus on PPV, then they have this and she still gets screwed over. Why not have her wrestle Roxxi or someone like that instead? I’d love to see that actually.
December 22, 2009 at 6:45 pm
No Alissah Taylor or Sarita???????
OHHHHHHHHHHHH! :(
Could of been an Epic knockouts eve if these Knockouts were involved!
December 22, 2009 at 6:54 pm
I’m confused, a lot of readers keep bringing up Sarita and Taylor Wilde … Are you guys referring to them not being in the actual tournament or the show in general, because Sarita & Taylor Wilde defended the TNA Knockout’s Tag Team Championship during the show.
December 23, 2009 at 3:28 am
ok folks…..here’s an opinion from someone who was actually there instead of all you talking about what happened second hand(just got in from airports all day)…..I do agree with yall that it was dumb to have ODB win instead of just getting a rematch clause…..the one thing thats been written as comments on here that is COMPLETELY WRONG is that the Lizzy Valentine vs Amber O’Neal match there was one botched move the finisher and that was Amber that screwed it up not Lizzy. Lizzy did awesome that match and I really hope TNA signs her soon! She would be a great addition to the knockout roster cause she has a ton or wrestling talent but wasn’t able to display it with the opponent she had! Even though this is diva talk, the Young Bucks also had a great match! Overall I think the show was pretty good and I enjoyed it! Look for me by the entrance ramp when it airs! Whatnow!
December 23, 2009 at 10:52 am
On another board people speculate that because there are only knockout matches, and no Kurt Angle, Mick Foley etc that there is a good chance that the matches are longer than usual with more freedom for the knockouts than what we are used to. So maybe the matches will be much better than they look on paper.
