I’d have probably put Jenna/Sharmell as the worst match, but at least nobody had any expectations of it to deliver. There was so much excitement for the WM25 match as it’d feature a number of the past Divas. I guess things looked worrying when so many ex-Divas declined the offer (like Trish and Lita), but even so the way they booked it was atrocious. They did the whole thing in about 5 minutes, none of the past Divas got an introduction, and F-in Santina won it.
I guess it reflect WWE’s overall treatment of the Divas this year, especially on RAW. SD had some decent moments.
Katie wins this, at least Alissa, Gail and Natalya have actually had matches this year and getting their faces out. She’s been wasted on ECW, occasionally jobbing to the Bella twins and whilst several less talented women get more matches than her.

Three awards for that wrestlemania atrocity, well deserved.
“I’d have probably put Jenna/Sharmell as the worst match, but at least nobody had any expectations of it to deliver.”
Indeed wrestling wise it is. But it’s “easy” to put in the ring two bad or/and inexperienced workers and get an atrocious match in result. The wrestlemania match is another level of bad. It was such a waste of talent and opportunity, in the most important wrestling event of the year, it is much more painful.
Katie Lea winning is logical. Alissa jobbed but had good matches. Gail is just a midcarder, much like at the end of her first wwe run. Natalya got exposure with the Hart Dynasty. Katie Lea wasn’t even used at all (I have succesfully managed to forget all the matches where talented divas jobbed to the Bellas due to substitution).
Voted for the “Piggie James” angle in last section. If wrestlemania was a crime against women’s wrestling, that angle is a crime against womankind in general.

I agree with them all besides the most underused. While I agree that Katie is underused and needs a push, Natalya and Alissa are better wrestlers who aren’t used at all. Nattie should be both a manager and a wrestler ala Lita. Alissa should be holding the title for the amount of skills she has.

I aree with all the winners here; especially anything involved with Santina! WTF! I hope that character never resurfaces again.

I think that’s pretty much all of my nominations, except for Underused I put Natalya, and for Bitch, Please award, I put the MJ death stare – Hello Aileen Wurnos.

One person who deserved to be nominated for the Bitch Please award was former Diva Ashley Massaro, following that ridiculous fight she had on Myspace with a 13 year old girl, back in February.

That were my choices:
Most Dispensable Diva
Rosa Mendes
Most Dispensable Knockout
Kristal Lashley
Worst Match of the Year
Jillian vs Melina (Raw, October 19th)
(I didn’t watch Jenna vs Sharmell)
The Jillian Award for Criminally Underused Talent
Gail Kim or Katie Lea
The ‘Bitch, Please’ Award
Sunny blasts Lacey Von Erich on her Facebook page
The ‘WTF’ Moment of the Year
Santina wins the Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal or Maria wins Diva of the Year at the Slammys
The Dressed in the Dark Award
The Beautiful People or Maria
The Cherry Award for Crimes to Womankind
WWE brings in ‘Santina’ and passes off a man as a woman for several months or Cody Deaner takes the Knockouts Championship

*these,sorry ;)

I thought Santina was funny in a ridiculous kind of way but at the same time was an slap in the face to the Divas, and a shame that Santina got a reaction that some of the real Divas could use. I think the Wrestlemania match was the worst thing because there were so many former Divas I would have loved to get to see in the ring again, in particular Molly Holly. When they said her name I was like “Where?!” I would give The Beautiful People the Dressed in the Alley award, but agreed with Maria for DITD.

I’m surprised the Kelly Kelly/Maryse RAW matches didn’t get put down for worst match. Talk about stinking up the joint!

Heres my choices…
Most Dispensable Diva – Rosa Mendes: Bella Twins do seem to be nothing more than eye candy recently, but the simple fact that they are twins is jus too good a gimmick (when they use it)
Most Dispensable Knockout – Lacey Von Erich: Ya, thas about right. As bad as she is in the ring, i still feel kinda bad for her though. Its not her fault she hasnt had enough time to learn the in ring craft.
Worst Match of the Year – 25 Diva Battle Royal (WrestleMania 25): I didnt see the Jenna vs Sharmell match, but the “25 Diva Battle Royal” really upset me. I should’ve know better then to expect anything less from WWE, but this match could really have been great.
The Jillian Award for Criminally Underused Talent – Alissa Flash: This is one of the hardest ones, as all the nominees are such great talents, but i gotta give it to Alissa Flash. Id have to say she is easily the most talented woman wrestler today. Lets hope 2010 is a big year for her! Wake up TNA!
The ‘Bitch, Please’ Award -: Is hard for me to truly understand what this category means but i do remember watching the Mickie/Gail match, and the whole exchange afterwards made ME feel uncomfortable. lol
The ‘WTF’ Moment of the Year – Santina wins the Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal: Yeah, nice WWE. Way to spit on the world of women’s wrestling. From the entrance that resembled a strip club’s “last chance for a dance” round up with Kid Rock, to the lack of respect by allowing Santino to win. Something like that couldnt have waited til the next night on RAW?
The Dressed in the Dark Award -: Its wrestling, so the outfits will always be over the top. (Side note: How can anyone not love Michelle McCool’s “million dollar baby” entrance attire?!)
The Cherry Award for Crimes to Womankind – The Divas, including returning Divas, get the shaft at WrestleMania 25: Again….boo WWE. Im very dissapointed in you based on this one single moment.
People may or may not care of what i said, but it was nice to air it out for myself :)
