Yes indeed, your Woman of the Decade is Lita! The 4-time Women’s Champion helped revolutionise women’s wrestling in the WWE with her unique wrestling style and looks. Far from the ‘cookie cutter’ representation of the WWE Divas, Lita was the anti-Diva for many fans and perhaps this explains her popularity with fans to this day. Her punk-rock attitude and style set her apart from the other Divas while she was also daring in the ring. Well deserved win for Lita, nothing against Trish at all, id be happy with either but Lita always tended to get the short end of the stick especially nearing the end of her career. Its funny how their careers mirrored eachothers in opposite fashion, Lita started out as the golden girl while Trish went through storylines barking like a dog for Vince and in the end Trish got a real superstars send off while Lita had her undergarments auctioned on PPV.
Wasn’t expecting this but im so happy. Usually Trish wins these easily but im really happy Lita got the recognition she deserved.

Honestly,Lita was a better wrestler than Trish and she had charisma as well as her…Maybe Trish was more charming for some ways and she got always more attention on her,but Lita deserves this victory…
yeah i am so gald lita won she was truely a legend of wrestling, i respect what trish did as well she was great to (lita and trish certainly deserve to be in the hall of fame ) but so happy lita finally received the recognition she deserves!
Lita & Trish are both the best in my opinion! They both won awards this year.

Okay Trish had more charisma than Lita. Goodnightddtman if you didnt notice WWE is scripted and the creative team and vince decides who wins titles and wins any votings or awards. Also Stratusfaction is a bulldog off the rope nothing special. The Chick Kick was used by Miss Jones in WCW before Trish. Its just a Roundhouse kick. nothing special either.

also trish invented the stratusphere,the move where you do a cartwheel on your opponents head and bring them down from the top rope,thats another move trish invented

I’ll give props to Lita for what she did during her run in WWE. I believe she is/was a trend setter, seriously before her how many of the Diva’s were really doing a lucha style or the lightweight style? Lita brought something very different to the table then some of the other divas during her run in WWE and she was liked by a lot of fans.
I voted Lita (: really glad she got diva of the decade, i was expecting Trish to win -_- but yay she didn’t. (nothing against Trish, I’m just not a fan)
She was/is one of my idols cause she was so punk and rock and extreme! Lita was one of a kind.

Congrats to Lita. She was a great wrestler and exciting in the ring. However, diva of the decade? I dont think so. Trish Stratus deserved this title and and in my heart she is the diva of the decade. Trish exuded a presence that is where to find nowadays. Her mic skills were TOP NOTCH because when she was a face fans LOVED to LOVE her and the when she was a heel fans LOVED to HATE her. She was extremely innovative in the ring and not to mention beautiful. Lita lost her edge in the ring towards the end of her career in my opion. She botched many matches and just look boring in the ring. She really couldn’t speak on the mic well either. I commend Lita on her win, but there is only one female wrestler who TRULY deserves this title.

My God people get heated on here stop the bashing guys!!!!!!! Lita and Trish both took female wrestling to the next level but I am really pleased that Lita came out on top here!! Lita trained in Mexico, she worked ECW, and she was the first female in wwf to perform aerial moves and be a believable character that the fans could get behind (bar Sable) .
Not to take away from Trish but she was moulded by the company and trained while she was there, no denying she was great but Lita just had an edge which is why we all loved her so much. So sad she got such a rubbish send off!!!!
It’s just typical of Lita fans to use this poll as a way to try and get to fans of Trish Stratus, they have turned it into a slanging match as usual and you should have voted based purely upon who you feel all-in-all really is a Woman of the Decade, not just because you want to spite fans of another Diva.
I never liked Lita, mainly because of a lot of her fans who are incredibly childish and use playground-style name-calling and have some sort of vendetta against any other woman of wrestling who comes close to Lita’s popularity – why get so defensive if she is so “amazing and talented”?
People can not see past the over-hyped bravado that surrounded Lita when she was first part of WWE – she was NOT a good wrestler, she was NOT good on the mic or in storylines and just because she had red hair, a few tattoos and wore “punk” clothing, they think that made her original and unique. Well it didn’t.
Original and unique was when a blonde fitness model broke down barriers for women who look like her in professional wrestling by being able to prove critics and braindead fans wrong about women who look like her. She didn’t need a fake “punk” image or to be rammed down fans throats by the WWE marketing machine like Lita was. Lita just showed how any sub-par female wrestler can come into WWE and be made into a so-called icon and top female, just by tireless over-promotion and a few fans jumping on the bandwagon because their too idiotic to realize that there were women better than Lita before she came along and during that same time.
Oh brother, why can’t people be glad that Lita won and be done with it?! Not that it matters, but I did voted for Trish, but I wasn’t going to be the least bit upset if she lost to Lita, because mainly, you couldn’t have one without the other…to a point. It’s sad that super-hardcore fans of both Divas (who happen to be best friends, last time I checked) have to bitch and moan and complain about who the better Diva is everytime one or both ladies are mentioned for doing something. It’s worse than cats and dogs, I swear. Debating is cool and all, but seriously!

Congrats to Lita. I feel that Lita truly deserve this because she set the standard high for the Women’s division in 2000 and girls all over the world wanted to be her. She is/was one of the MOST popular divas to ever step foot in the wwe and always got a standing ovation that you never see nowadays in womens wrestling. I will go as far to say that she was just a popular as Stone Cold and The Rock. If there was no Lita the womens division would have not been the same. IMO…….I’m a fan of Trish Stratus but I feel many people overrate her wrestling skills, yes she improved and became one of the diva greats but people overlook Jazz, Victoria, Molly and my favorite diva of all time IVORY. The only reason I see Trish winning the Diva of the decade is because she was a 7-time Champion. Not taking anything away from Trish but people really need to give Jazz, Victoria, Ivory, Lita, Jacqueline, and Molly Holly credit for helping Trish get where she was because if it wasn’t for them Trish probably would have never improved.
I personally think its really awesome that Amy Dumas should actually win this award – especially as (weather its rightfully so or not…) Trish usually comes out on top.
This time around, Lita comes out on top and its to cover a total of 10years tooo!! Im really glad that she won xD.

Speaking (or writing, in this case) as a Lita fan, I am happy with her winning this award (albeit shocked, cause I did expect Trish to win again), since Trish won the Pro Illustrated one.
Trish has by far gone down as the most popular diva in history because of the buildup she received. Had Lita remained a face throughout her career, I think things would have ended differently for both divas. Looking back to late 2000-early 2001, Lita got chants and cheers like no other, including Trish. So, it’s a shame that her character ended the way it did, because given the proper development, she would have also had her story-book ending…
Comparing Lita to Trish and Trish to Lita, in my opinion, does not do either diva justice. As some of you have mention, they both helped each other. They started around the same time, and whether they were friends or foes, they fed off of each other. They were different… they had different images, different characters, different ring-styles and moves. So comparing one to the other, is like comparing apples and oranges…
I personally don’t think one is better than the other, they both contributed to the women’s division in different ways and ultimately both should be recognized for their hard work.
Yay! I was really expecting Trish to win but I’m very happy to see Lita get this one. After all the awards Trish has gotten it’s nice to see Lita get some recognition. I admit I’m a bigger fan of Lita than Trish but I fully admit without one the other wouldn’t have been as exciting to watch. Their feud was EPIC. Very very few feuds can hold up to it, especially in the women’s division, but their feud was exciting as any of the guys’. They had many great matches together because they knew and trusted each others’ abilities in the ring. Their chemistry was amazing – they told stories with their matches.
They’re like the bookends of this decade’s women’s division. Sure it might’ve been as fun to watch the division without one of them, but would it have been nearly as exciting? Nope. And hopefully Lita will find out about this and maybe it’ll bring a smile to her face, knowing that there are fans who know how much she contributed to the division and how this is a way of saying thank you for all you did.
Congrats to Lita. Personally, I think she’s wayyyyy overrated and was one of the WWE’s top botch queens for a while. But you can’t deny the crowd ate her up. Plus, I tip my hat to any woman willing to lace up the boots. So, yeah…congrats. LOL

Sorry, amare135, but I’d have to disagree. Lita had entire arenas chanting her name as a face, and had entire arenas throwing jibes at her as a heel. I don’t remember anyone starting a chant for Trish other than ‘We want puppies!’
