In a pretty cool vote of confidence in the young Diva, Alicia Fox ranks #2 on a new WWE.com feature in which they count down the ten Superstars who are destined to win championship gold this year. They write:
Ever since moving on from being Edge’s wedding planner, Alicia Fox has shown she is capable of so much more. This fiery Diva epitomizes what it means to be sexy, smart and powerful. It’s a safe bet that every Diva on the roster has taken notice.
It’s nice to see WWE take notice of Alicia Fierce, who really arrived in 2009 — even taking ‘Best Newcomer’ in our Year-End Awards. I expected to see at least or two Divas on the list but never did I think one would be ranked so high. As trivial as it may be, I think it’s a nice little recognition for Alicia. I expected them to go for someone like Kelly or Eve as they are babyfaces, but I have to say the rest of the list is pretty spot on also. Company for Alicia includes Evan Bourne, Dolph Ziggler, Ted DiBiase and The Hart Dynasty, all of whom are also great young talents waiting for a break.
Could 2010 be the year of the Fox?

Glad to see WWE showing A. Fox some love. I think, out of the recent model types, she’s shown the most potential. And she has amazing chemistry with Gail Kim and Melina. Love her.

Omg. I really think she would get some gold or that purple and pink belt in 2010. I’m happy that WWE is notice Alicia because she’s decent and more training she would be AMAZING in the ring I will give her three more years. I look at Alicia as the next Trish more than any other diva. I would think that spot would be for Eve since WWE is high on her but oh well. I’m so shock that she ranked so high I would think she would be #8 but #2 cool.
Dolph Ziggler, Ted DiBiase, and The Hart Dynasty I know for fact she would get some gold because of those names special The Hart Dynasty.
Was Alicia the only diva on that list?

I do hope Alicia gets the belt this year. She’s probably one of the best well rounded womens wrestler on RAW (Gail is the best wrestler, but has little charisma, Melina is a decent wrestler and has good heel charisma, Maryse has great charisma but lacks real skill). Alicia is good in the ring and has good charisma, and was able to get the crowd to boo her during her earlier push, something Marse hasn’t really achieved despite being very charismatic.
So Alicia would be the first black Diva’s champ as well. The last black women champs, Jacqueline and Jazz, were good wrestlers but bland charismatically (I always felt sorry for Jackie who even in wrestling hottest period never had the crowd behind her). I did think Sharmell would get a run with the belt when she and Booker moved over to RAW, ala HHH and Steph, but that never happened. Shaniqua would have been interesting too, a pre-Beth Phoenix. She was an amazon after all.
