WWE.com have finally acknowledged Melina’s injury, announcing that the now former Divas Champion will be out for six months. They write:
After suffering an injury in a match on Dec. 29 in Manchester, N.H., Melina underwent an MRI today, which confirmed that she tore her left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Due to this, she will be out of action for six months and have to forfeit her Divas Championship.
Melina actually had an MRI last week, I’m guessing results came in today is what they mean. Anyway, get well soon, Melina!

Try more like a year. WWE always gives out the least amount of time for the divas. Remember Candice’s 4-6 weeks she was supposed to be out? It was 5 months and she still wasn’t cleared. Same with Maryse. 3 months turned into 5.

What the hell is going to happen to the RAW Divas????? I have been thee biggest Maryse fan but I still can’t understand why shes not wrestling!?? Week after week she just doesn’t wrestle AT ALL I don’t understand, we know she can I mean I LOVED her matches with Michelle and her matches on Smackdown. If its got to do with her injury she should just be doing backstage promos or something if shes not ready for the ring because its just getting ridiculous. I can’t believe I’m saying this but Maryse is NOT ready for that title. If we look at our options though its pretty slim pickins … The only ones Id pick would be Gail or Jillian, PLEASE GOD NOT KELLY, obviously not those twins and in a few more months maybe Alicia or Jillian. PLEASE GET WELL SOON MELINA!!

As much as I love Maryse, she’s not Melina. Melina is a great talent, someone with charisma and who can carry Maryse nicely. With WWE’s next most popular choice Kelly probably going to be rivals with Maryse over the title (assuming the inevitable happens and she wins), that fued would totally suck. Eve could help keep the division strong, yet once again she’s not Melina. Gail is RAW’s only real Face hope of having a great match with Maryse, yet she’ll not be pushed due to her being constantly overlooked. I hope Melina returns quicker as RAW needs her.
