perfect10

The Perfect 10 counts down the ten Divas and Knockouts who have had the best week in television on Raw, SmackDown, ECW and TNA Impact. The Perfect 10 considers matches, promos, character development and more. Who’ll be #1 this week?

THIS
WEEK
MOVEMENT
DIVA
LAST
WEEK
AWESOME KONG & HAMADA
After a hard fought battle, Kongada took the Knockouts Tag Team Championships on Monday’s live 3-hour episode of Impact. It looks like the start of a lengthy reign for the duo.
ODB
ODB once again became the Knockouts Champion at TNA’s live three hour Impact, defeating Tara. The former champion is still hot on her heels though.
MARYSE
Continuing her winning streak from last week, Maryse defeated Brie Bella to become the first Diva to advance in the Divas Title tournament.
BETH PHOENIX
The Glamazon has been on a dominating streak on SmackDown showing the other Divas who’s boss and a win over Layla showed that this week. She may want to watch out for Mickie’s kick though.
GAIL KIM
Gail Kim scored a big win over Jillian on WWE Superstars and secured herself a spot in the next round of the Divas Championship tournament in a lengthy bout.
SARITA & TAYLOR WILDE
Saritaylor’s long reign as the first ever Knockouts Tag Team Champions came to an end on Monday night but they didn’t give up without a fight in their best tag bout so far.
LAYLA
Despite taking a beating from the Glamazon, Layla proved to be as entertaining as she is beautiful on this past week’s SmackDown, showing off her comedy chops and charisma.
MICKIE JAMES
The feisty SmackDown Diva helped clear house on Friday night and asserted her own dominance, kicking the mighty Beth Phoenix straight to the canvas.
TARA
Spare a thought for Tara, her second Knockouts Championship reign came to a shocking end on Monday’s live Impact. But she got the last laugh by hitting the Widow’s Peak on ODB.
MICHELLE MCCOOL
They may be called ‘Team Lay-Cool’ but there’s no kidding ourselves in who leads the duo. Michelle McCool directed traffic on SmackDown and arguably, led her lamb [Layla] to slaughter.

Can they maintain their positions until next week? Check back next Saturday for a new Perfect 10.

  1. If this is a weekly column, it will be look very weird. Take ODB, Tara, Saritaylor. They aren’t on TNA next week, so they will disappear from the top-10, and then 1 week later they will probably enter again. If it was a monthly column you get a much better view on how people are doing.

  2. ODB isn’t on impact next week? Sweet! :D

  3. @Mikas – it used to be a weekly column and its based on wwe’s power 25, both of which do just fine. its a ranking of them throughout the week, not their position in their respective divisions.

    - I think Tara’s should read hit the widow’s peak on ODB.

-Thank you for bringing this back. This was by far my favorite column on diva dirt (although eye candy has since tied it) and I am doing a touchdown dance that I get to read this once a week.

The Perfect 10 is back! I love this feature and I hope it’s back to stay.

I agree with all of these placements. I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head here. I think that this week was a good one for women’s wrestling.

  5. Typo on Tara & Yay Maryse x3

  6. great feature…

but.. gail kim wins one match and she’s ranked 5th? i don’t think she should be anywhere near the top 10 given how anonymous she is these days. certainly not the third highest ranked diva on the roster anyway.

also i reckon kong and hamada and sarita and taylor should all be ranked individually, rather than lumped together

    Melanie Reply:

And it begins. You guys realise this is just a little fun right, not exactly something that is scientifically calculated? No need to take it so seriously.

  7. How can Gail beating Jillian in any way be considered a “big win”? Jillian has been comic relief enhancement talent for years.

  8. @ Ed, its a “big win” because gail and maryse are one step closer to the divas championship

  9. socko & ed: The people lower ranked than Gail Kim either didnt wresle, or jobbed, or lost their titles. So Gail advancing a round in a tournament is a very accurate position.

  10. Wow i love this site and i think all the divas/knockouts are in their right places.

  11. its a weekly ranking anyway.

i love this feature melanie. please keep it up!

nice feature and overall it seems pretty fair. just like the wwe power 25, it’s annoying seeing somebody you don’t like up so high (hello, odb!), ha.

Would “Mr socko”(lmao) and co would you just put a socko in it! This is based on the WEEK! Gails win is big because she’s that much closer to the title and sarita and taylor are supposed to be “lumped” together because they are a TAG TEAM. Some people. *shakes head in dissapointment* I personally love the feature and hope its here to stay thanks again Diva-Dirt and I agree with every placement.

  14. Hopefully Gail will be top 3 if she wins again this week!
I really hope she takes that title and shows the Miz that she CAN keep up with Maryse, not that she can’t anyway, anything Maryse can do in the ring Gail can do 10 times better.

Warning, I’m about to embark on a random rant. I really can’t fathom why the WWE haven’t based the division around Gail Kim.

And before someone snaps that she isn’t over, I’m going to lay this little fact down. Either it speaks poorly of WWE or WWE fans that they find it easier for a pretty blonde stereotype with poor to no wrestling ability in the shape of Kelly Kelly to become a star than someone who already is the complete package. Vince McMahon doesn’t have a vision of women’s wrestling. So he should employ someone who does.

Anyway… now that I’ve been handed my medication, the feature seems pretty fair, though I’d probably expand it to a top twenty as it allows more room for Knockouts who aren’t featured every week on TV to exist. Awesome Kong and Hamada’s win over Saritaylor provided a really exciting match.

  16. Speak on it, adifferentsame! It amazes me that the WWE doesn’t utlize Gail more. They have a sound investment that they’re squandering.

  17. “Vince McMahon doesn’t have a vision of women’s wrestling. So he should employ someone who does.”

Why should he? It is well-known that he doesnt care about female wrestling. As a matter of fact, he doesnt even want the divas to outperform the male wrestlers. So as long as he is there nothing will change. Maybe in the future when Stephanie/HHH take over things will change a little bit, but until then its hoping we get to see 1 decent match/month.

  18. RKOyou

it’s about time TNA get some props, lol the hamada/kong picture is so funny haha

I think layla should be number 9 and mickie and tara should move up one spot

  19. adifferentsame

Mikas: Why shouldn’t he? If there is no incentive to provide good women’s wrestling, or even a credible division, then I personally don’t see the point in having one. No way are the Divas going to outshine the men. Women’s wrestling fans will always, in my opinion, be in the minority. But it’s stupid business sense to employ people to bring the product down.
