With two spots left in the semi-finals, the Raw Divas soldiered on with the Divas Championship tournament, competing in two matches. After last week’s two tournament openers (one on Raw, the other on Superstars), would the underwhelming feeling improve with this weeks bouts? Let’s see.. The first bout of the night featured Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox battling to go on to the next round:
Kelly makes her entrance, dressed in Maria’s leftover fabric scraps and shoes that are definitely not meant for athletic competition. You’re just asking for a sprained ankle with those skater shoes, girl.. Alicia follows, and the match starts with a rough tie-up. Kelly backs Alicia into the ropes, and the referee gets between them (literally) to break it up. Alicia takes this pause in the match to blast Kelly with a forearm, kneeing her and tossing her into the corner. She smashes her face into the turnbuckle a few times before hitting a snapmare.
Alicia keeps her grasp on Kelly’s hair, latching her into a sleeper hold. She makes a grab for her nose, wrenching Kelly’s face and switching the hold to the mat, keeping her locked in. Alicia shows some great aggression with this, the hold punctuated by Kelly’s screams. Kelly might overdo the screaming most of the time, but it’s moments like these that they’re effective. Kelly fights to get free, and Alicia moves back onto her knees, not letting go. Kelly eventually gets to her feet, punching Alicia in the stomach and freeing herself from the hold.
Still, Alicia reclaims control, irish-whipping Kelly into the corner. Kelly stops herself with the top turnbuckle, attempting a hurricanrana on Alicia, but she catches Kelly’s legs and tosses her over the ropes onto the ring apron. Alicia goes for the attack, but Kelly lands a forearm, grabbing her and pulling her over the ropes. Alicia lands on the outside, and Kelly hits a crossbody from the ring apron, then quickly tossing Alicia back into the ring. Kelly goes on her textbook offense (press the up arrow and triangle on PS3 to trigger it), punctuated by a long, twirly hurricanrana. She attempts a frankensteiner, but Alicia stops her momentum, turning it into a sick powerbomb, folding up Kelly into a pin. She gets the 3-count and advances in the tournament! She will face Maryse next week in the semi-finals.
Needless to say, I was extremely surprised to see Alicia win. I was pretty confident in the fact that the WWE wanted to push Kelly as the top babyface, given the great crowd reactions she gets and the fact that they use her in their marketing more than any other Diva. That’s not to say that I’m not happy with Alicia winning–I was rooting for her, in fact. I’m glad that she won, and I feel that she’s much more deserving of the Divas Championship than Kelly. It’s a little strange to think that, given how much longer Kelly’s been in the WWE. Most are aware that the girls were hired at the same time, though, and Alicia just spent her time training in the developmental system while Kelly did stripteases on ECW.
The match, and the difference in skill it showed between Alicia and Kelly really demonstrates how much a little investment in the Divas can pay off. Instead of tossing them onto TV at the first chance, it’s much smarter to let them hone their craft out of the limelight. Alicia’s shining proof of that, and while she’s no where near her full potential yet, she has so much more ring presence and natural skill than Kelly. Kelly has certainly improved, but she seems stuck in the 5-move flashy move-set that benefits her rather bland babyface persona. If she could break out of that and develop some dimension (in both her character and ring work), she would be so much more interesting to watch and come across as a more serious wrestler. It probably doesn’t help that she’s wearing tiny outfits to wrestle in while wearing tennis shoes. It may not seem like much, but things like not wearing proper ring gear can send subconscious messages to viewers–her image, as it is now, makes her look like a girl who rarely wrestles, almost like someone they plucked out of the crowd. I might sound crazy, but a little thing like wearing boots really do make one look like a serious wrestler. Then again, she might not be going for that look. If so, she can continue being Professional Wrester Barbie and be on her merry way. I’m not looking to bash the girl–I just have trouble taking her seriously as a wrestler with her seemingly half-assed image.
As for the match itself, it felt (as is becoming the norm on Raw) like the match was on fast forward. The girls never got the chance to really develop a flow, and just flew from spot to spot. Alicia did great in dominating Kelly, showing some real tenacity in her sleeper hold, and Kelly did her usual moves as well as she has in every match in recent memory. I’d love to see Kelly grow out of the “clothesline, dropkick, hurricanrana” combo, but this match just didn’t have room to spare, so I don’t really blame her for using the same flurry of offense. It was just the typical “heel dominates, face fights back, heel pulls out the win” story–unimaginative, but entertaining for what it was. Kelly and Alicia seem to work well together, so it would be cool to see them feud sometime in the future. Alicia could really benefit from the insta-heat a heel tends to get for beating on Kelly. But that’s for another time, because Alicia a bigger things to worry about. Next week, as it is announced, she will face Gail Kim in the semi-finals.
The next (and last) first round match had Eve Torres taking on Katie Lea:
I find it kind of funny that the WWE punched a hole in their “Burchills get fired” storyline just because they needed a heel for Eve to face. Yeah, I’m sure Katie Lea is mourning her drop from ECW to Raw–what a step down! Personally, I’d feel shafted if I were Nikki Bella, but I suppose the WWE won’t risk exploding fans’ heads by pitting faces against each other–who would they cheer for??? Please, think of the children!
Anyways, Katie Lea surfaced on Raw to face Eve, and they are joined on commentary by Maryse. Of course the WWE had to find a way to put Maryse on television, but it just seems silly to have her do commentary when she’s on the same level playing field in the tournament as Gail and Alicia–or as the WWE would like us to think. I still believe that it’s painfully obvious that she will come out on top, and pulling stunts like putting her on commentary only serves to make it that much more obvious. Now, I know that she is set to face the winner of this match, but with this strategy, why didn’t Gail do commentary for the Alicia/Kelly match? Oh yeah, she was busy awkwardly talking to Carlito backstage. It just doesn’t make sense, storyline-wise, and just shows how the WWE will do whatever it takes, even exposing the outcome of the tournament, to get their hot commodity some screen time. I really will eat my hat if she doesn’t win the tournament.
But anywho, we need to focus on the match at hand. Katie Lea starts the match by taking down Eve and going for a quick, unsuccessful pin attempt. She pulls back Eve’s hands and drives her knee between her shoulder blades, wrenching her shoulders in the process. Meanwhile, Maryse is chatting on commentary, and it’s kind of fitting that she’s completely disregarding the match, talking about herself all the while. It certainly fits her character, but it’s insulting to Eve and Katie Lea to put her above the match we’re supposed to be watching. Again, it just demonstrates the “leg up” Maryse has on her competition, and how obvious it is that the tournament’s only serving to elevate Maryse. I’m almost expecting to see Maryse with the Divas Championship on her shoulder, surveying a #1 contendership match instead of a tournament match in which she has no advantage over the others. Listening to Maryse contradict herself (saying that Eve and Katie Lea are great competitors, then two seconds later complaining about being bored of the match) isn’t entertaining to me. It’s like they took her character and stretched it too thin–there’s not enough material to even fill up a 2 minute match, and it speaks volumes about her character.
In the ring (yes, there’s still a match going on!) Eve powers out of the hold, flipping forward and kicking Katie Lea in the face. Eve delivers some offense and goes for a cross-body, but Katie catches her, spinning her into a vicious-looking back breaker. She goes for the pin, but only gets a 2-count. Eve heads to the corner to regroup and Katie goes after her, but gets a kick to the gut for her troubles. She swings at Eve, but her clothesline is ducked, and Eve hits one of her own, going for the pin (on a clothesline??). She gets a 2-count.
Eve hits some dropkicks and goes for her front flip splash, but Katie brings her knees up, blocking it. She goes for a pin and gets 2, complaining to the referee. Eve takes advantage of this distraction, rolling her up into the pin, getting the 3-count.
This match, like the last, was ridiculously short, and featured impressive work by the heel. Katie Lea did great with the little she was given to do, and Eve made a more exciting “rallying babyface” than Kelly, though the roll-up ending totally took what little wind the match had in its sails. I’d love to see these girls have a match that’s longer than a few minutes and really see what they’re able to pull off together–it seems like an interesting dynamic to play off of.
I have to say that, while it was nice to see two Divas matches in one night, it felt like they took one of reasonable length and split it in two–both in content and length–in order to fit both matches into the show. In this match (as well as with Alicia/Kelly), the WWE just didn’t give them time to develop a compelling match. It’s like walking in on a movie halfway through; if you don’t see any of the characters’ development, you’re not going to give a shit about how it ends.
That’s exactly what happened in both of these matches, and while I’m happy with their outcomes (because, let’s face it, Katie Lea never stood a chance of advancing), it just sucks to see so little effort being put into this tournament. These four fractured, minuscule matches have brought very little excitement and in no way felt as if they’re building to something big. I hope the WWE decides to actually invest something into the remaining matches, because if not, they might as well have handed the Divas Championship to Maryse that very moment Melina tore her ACL–there will have been nothing achieved through this besides the elevation of Maryse, so why waste the time?

Thumbs Down – Personally I feel really let down by last nights Raw both the matches on paper sounded good, but i would have prefered Kelly vs Katie Lea and Eve vs Alicia. Both could have done with an extra few minutes. Kelly vs Alicia was the better, but Eve vs Katie was more of a interview with Maryse, the highlights of a match between the two and a short stare.
Alicia is the only heel WWE diva that actually wins matches when she’s not in the title picture, every other heel is a jobber……LUCKY! I guess she’s made friends with the right people backstage
I don’t think Gail will win the title because her win was on WWE superstars, you would think the next divas champion would win on Raw instead on WWE D show
I noticed something was said above about Kelly not wearing wrestling boots. The reason she didn’t have them was because her luggage was lost by the airport when she came in for last nights show. I actually liked her outfit.
Also, I think the match between Alicia and Kelly was pretty good. Alicia’s powerbomb was amazing. Eve vs. Katie made me mad because as much as I like Maryse, they kept putting the camera on her during the match and we barely got to see Eve and Katie wrestle.
I didn’t mind the Kelly/Alicia match, but the Eve/Katie one was a little disappointing. I think Maryse’s commentary kind of ruined it. They weren’t even focusing on the match, so I couldn’t either!
Maryse will win the contest. Duh. I really wish it were one of the other 3, but i KNOW it won’t be. It’s a shame, because this would be a great oppurtunity for the WWE to surprise us.
The WWE is really going to trap themselves in a corner if Maryse wins the tournament. Aggressive Maryse is the only one worth watching. Once she actually won the title the first time, she got boring.
I was thinking Gail would win just so the WWE can extend the feud, but RKOyou had a good point that Gail’s last win was on Superstars and not Raw. Who knows, maybe Alicia will actually come out on top next week. The WWE seems to like her. Face turn, perhaps? Ah, nevermind. There’s only like 2 heel divas.
also why is everyone saying that powerbomb by Alicia was good, it was terrible. i think are only saying it’s good because Alicia did it
You made a good point when you mentioned Nikki Bella…it would be so much logical to put her in the tournament and maybe instead of putting a random debut of Katie Lea.
However, it still pisses me off how WWE uses the female talent. Lets face it: there are two extremely talented Divas that aren’t well used: Natalya and Katie Lea. (I’m not talking about Gail, cus she’s not in a situation like the other two).
Both Natalya and Katie have a lot of technic and they’re probably more talented than most of the other girls. However they are used mainly as valets, when they could spice up the women’s division so easily. Katie as the weird like heel, instead of the I’m so good and pretty type of heel (like most of the girls portray) and Natalya as the dominant heel.
Do you remember the Kurt Angle matches in the WWE? Those win my medal, thing, where he would make everybody tap out? Natalya, with the sharpshooter would be perfect for that.
Or even putting Natalya as a face who tried to teach the heels how to respect her and the fans. They did it very well with Chris Benoit, who (despite what he has done) was one of the best technical wrestlers ever, so it shouldn’t be hard to pull of something like that with Natalya.
But, stopping my random critics: its almost painfully obvious that the final will be Maryse vs. Gail, with Maryse winning. But somehow, I gotta a feeling (go Jillian go) that Gail will lose not because of Maryse’s talent, but because A. Fox will interfere in a very heelish way.
While this tournament seems to be just delaying Maryse’s title win, I think her not winning wouldn’t be much different as I doubt you’ll someone else win the title and then feud with someone besides Maryse. WWE did the “delay the title win” deal with Jazz in 2002 and Beth in 2007 by having them lose on the first shot, then win the title less than a month later.
@ divaknockout0913 – That makes sense. Still, she has a history of wrestling in tennis shoes, and I’m not a fan of it when she or Mickie (who often wrestles in Chucks) does it.
I hated Maryse on commentary. All it did was take away from the match. Granted, the match wasn’t much LOL But it was still irritating. I hate when commentators gloss over what’s going on in the ring. Probably because it’s usually the women’s matches that get that treatment.
Please for those who are saying that Gail will probably lose because she won on superstars is dumb the only reason they put her on superstars is because of time constrants look at it this way superstars has had title matches on them like The U.S title. With Gail Kim being on wwe supertars 2 wks in a Row I say thy are trying to push her as the new babyface and with Kelly Kelly losing last nite we can see that also I would not count out a Alicia v Msryse champ match just look at Orton and Sheamus. But I stillsay it will be Gail v Maryse with Gail coming away with the win the Monday before Royal Rumble. Gail may not get the same chances to destroy the English Language like Maryse does but she had the talent the resume and I fell it’s her time. Gail had feuded with maryse before for the divas title and will agail.
RKOyou-We’re saying it was good because it was to US.If you didn’t like it,oh well.
Alicia vs Kelly overshadowed Katie vs eve because it was actually focused on.
@RKOyou – I completely agree. That powerbomb WAS awful, and anyone who says otherwise is obviously blinded by their love for Alicia Fox.
Furthermore, I never really understood why so many people here love Fox. She’s okay, but definitely not the second coming of Trish which many make her out to be…
Although I love Katie Lea, I must say that both matches on this week’s Raw were a disappointment. Obviously, it’s going to come down to Gail and Maryse in the finals. That being said, my money is on Maryse to walk away with the Divas Championship.
alicia vs kelly was really good match for me but the other was a big WTF
wht is maryse doin she is just like them as erin said she isnt a champ or something…and the end of the match why did eve and maryse look at each others like this its not even the final??
and katie didnt even get an entrance!!
i think eve vs nikki was goin to make more sense and then they can move katie to raw later
out of the two matches i preferred Kelly vs Alicia, i was surprised Alicia won i thought the tournament would end with Maryse vs Kelly so it was a pleasant surprise that it’s not as predictable
the Katie lea vs Eve match was ok but got annoying when the camera angles kept changing to focus on Maryse, i found it hard to pay attention, they even cut to Maryse wile Eve was doing her finisher, i think Maryse will win this still, shes getting to much attention put on her.
I’m kinda sad to see Katie on raw, i would have preferred her to go to SD, shes probably going to become another Jillian on raw (minus any kind of title rein)
They must’ve knew how bad that Eve vs Katie match was going to be. Why else would they bring in Maryse to add something positive to that segment? I think the worst part of that Katie vs Eve match is that Katie looked like a poor man’s Maria. Cheesy hair, ugly red leather tights, trashy fishnets. The whole shabang. haha
I don’t get the Alicia buzz either. That match with her and Kelly was a lot better then their last match. That powerbomb was bad and I wonder how tough Kelly really is. She has been taking some ugly lookin’ bumps that seem to require her to sell by default. I am talking just flat out painful.
And not that I think it’s a bad thing, but I think Kelly has peaked as a performer. She has been following the same formula for the past year and a half. I don’t see her adding anything new to her matches.
I thought the Alicia/Kelly match was pretty good. I loved the powerbomb counter that was done by Alicia. As I said before I like Kelly but I think her kicks & clotheslines look weak sometimes. She can work on that though. The Eve/Katie match was more like the Maryse Show. I can’t remember the match at all but I remember her. I liked her but she didn’t needed to be there. Her weave was looking nice though. As far as some people acting like Alicia is the seconded coming of Trish I don’t think that’s true. If you ask me Maryse is the one that people seem to think is the second coming of Trish. I mean the girl gets praised just because she flips her hair.
while i appreciate kelly moving on from wearing 50 shades of hot pink, zebra print really isn’t much of a step-up. however, i enjoyed the alicia/kelly match. maryse calling cole a “vintage nerd” was the best part of the second match sadly…
Why can’t the WWE just realise the great female athlete they have in Katie Lea?
i think a lot of the love for alicia stems from her not coming up from the indies. i mean, if she wasn’t a former model/dancer, she wouldn’t be half as impressive as she is (whereas if she was hired through the indies, she’d be pretty rubbish). i guess it’s refreshing, as well as pretty cool, that she, as well as the likes of mccool, can prove they’re so much more than eye candy. if anything, alicia makes me have even less respect for kelly, rosa and maria ;) they could learn a thing or two from her.
the matches were.. pretty typical for raw, i guess. smackdown is definitely where it’s at right now, wwe wise. i would actually really like it if they were to let eve advance rather than maryse, i love a good swerve and it would be a way of putting eve on the raw map so to speak – i’d take a guess at most raw viewers not even knowing who she is.
*PhoenixFan9000 @RKOyou – I completely agree. That powerbomb WAS awful, and anyone who says otherwise is obviously blinded by their love for Alicia Fox*
You’re Obvioulsy Blind coz’ that Power Bomb was fine and I aint even an Alicia Mark.
Good matches but come on! hey shoulda make it longer!!! o thumbs down! Damn!
The powerbomb looked a bit awkward in the set up, but it was executed well and it was nice to see a more innovative version with the roll up, rather than the usual sitout pin. I must say I expected both the girls to go through, however I’m pleased that Alicia took the lead in this one, though we all know its going to be…
Maryse def. Eve
Gail Kim def. Alicia Fox
Maryse def. Gail Kim
Because they had to shove Maryse down our throats again as stated in the Eve and Katie Lea match which completely downplayed the abilities of both Divas. Eve has some really wowing moves, with her moonsaults etc and yet she wins with a roll-up. Plus I actually hate the endless dropkicks she does, I really like Eve but Raw has made her so samey. Its a nice mini push but she’ll go back to being Masters arm-piece, though I don’t see that lasting as Eve really doesnt have any chemistry with him when you compare it to Cryme Tyme. Back to the match anyway, it might have well have been a Maryse segment with this match airing for longer on Superstars, though notice Gail features on Superstars this week in victory. A not so subtle hint that she’s going to advance given her ‘winning streak’, methinks.
@Kaledrina – I see where you’re coming from in regards to Alicia Fox. Still, I think that our expectations have been lowered in recent years in the absence of great performers such as Trish Stratus and Lita. I definitely agree with your point that Smackdown is the place to go for solid Divas action these days. I love what they’ve been doing with Beth Phoenix lately, for instance.
@MrStaceyWood – Actually, I felt that Alicia’s powerbomb looked clumsy/dangerous. Then again, you’re entitled to your own opinion.
The powerbomb looked bad because Kelly goes down unevenly if that makes sense. She lands on one side of her body and, looking at a few times now, definitely on her head.
I think the powerbomb Alicia did was pretty nice, IMO.
i’m not sure i understand katie lea’s personality…i’ve never watched ecw, but i did like her when she was on raw a few years ago…now it just seems like shes weird for the sake of being weird…i don’t get the odd hand movements she does and i don’t understand what’s going on with her look…she’s a good wrestler, but i think she needs to be repackaged…
this is the first week where i really liked Alicia, i havn’t gotten what the buzz has been about her but after this match I really see it. She’s so physical and takes & delivers moves better then a lot of the other girls. I’m finally jumpin to the Foxy Train!!
I never heard anyone say Alicia was the second coming of Trish; Alicia can/will be her own kind of star. People become fans of Alicia Fox because they like what they see and are not fans of people in who they don’t like what they see (and vice versa), end of story.
Anyway, work ethic, work ethic, work ethic. That’s what WWE is looking at and can see in a way that we can’t, and it goes a long way in determining who’ll become (and remain) successful in WWE (e.g. who gets a “push”). Think about it, if a person comes in later than someone else and works their butt off harder than the ones who’ve been there for a while it says something.
And I agree, Kalderina, that that’s part of why Alicia is so impressive. She’s come in around the same time as some other girls (as a former model) and have improved over them. If people want to get mad because some fans recognize that then that’s their misfortune. By the way, I’ve NEVER seen people go on and on about Alicia doing something like some do for Maryse doing nothing. If me saying so hurts someone’s feelings then that’s a weird reaction to have. lol :P My opinion.
I liked the Eve/Katie Lea match…well what I saw of it anyways. Thankfully after having alot of family I’ve learned to block things out; namely Maryse on commentary. I have no idea what she said nor do I care. I absolutely LOVED that back-breaker Katie Lea did on EVE. It definitely looked painfully believable and is one of the thousands of reasons they need to stop making her JOB and give her a PUSH DANGIT!!!
… Sorry about that. I tend to get annoyed when good wrestlers are overlooked for some other random pretty face. The Kelly/Alicia match was ok. I’ve never been overly impressed with Kelly’s moves but I do like the aggressiveness/technicality of Alicia. I’m on the Foxagon (lol my version of the Fox Bandwagon)because the woman shows promise. Seriously, how many women wrestlers in the WWE today can you say can both act in a segment (and actually make it believable and enjoyable) and wrestle well? Of all the women without wrestling backgrounds that came in she (and Michelle) has given me a smidgen of hope.
@RKOyou – Everytime someone mentions something good about Alicia Fox, you drink more and more of your haterade. I know you have a soft spot for Jillian, as you should. But c’mon – face it. She had her time to shine and she completely ruined it. She was a legitimate wrestler and she let these model-turned-wrestlers show her up. Her fault, not no one else’s.
Its kind of annoying that week after week the RAW divas come out and disappoint all of us long-time wrestling fans who remember the days where divas main evented in the WWE. But I’ve come to accept the changing times so I’ve come to look at the positives in the matches. Alicia Fox’s power bomb LOOKED impressive. Mainly because it came out of no where and Kelly looked hurt! Kelly gets bigger pops then some of the male superstars and IS actually really improving, that hurricanrana-thing followed by the drop kick was executed really well. Maryse is really improving on the mic. I loved what she said to Michael Cole in the opening of the Eve vs Katie match. Eve didn’t show me much spark though, I kinda felt like she really didn’t deserve that win considering how friggin good that back breaker from Katie looked.
All in all I’m holding out hope for Gail Kim to win this tournament.. but I’ll accept if Maryse does because at least that means we’ll be nearly guaranteed to see a new face push.
Both matches werent bad for what they were, but they were way too short. Welcome to Raw Katie Lea, have fun jobbing and not being used.
lol @ MarBu13!
A lotta people probably don’t like what J.R. has to say but I think that he’s right when he says that a wrestler really has to put themselves out there to be noticed (more) by the management in a significant way. *WE notice them, but we don’t know what exactly management is looking for.* They need to sell themselves in such a way that makes them seem valuable enough to give (more/an) opportunity. As much as we love the Divas, who in the world aside from them knows what management, etc. is seeing on the other side.
No offense, but I hate when people mention bandwagons in relation to liking a wrestler. Is it really to jump on a bandwagon when you like a wrestler that other people happen to like as well? People change their minds about wrestlers all the time because they see something they like in them, (and granted, sometimes when people mention something that they didn’t notice before). I’ve liked/disliked people from the get-go but sometimes they can change my mind. Alicia, I liked from the time I saw her first match; others I’ve changed my opinion about. But I don’t need help to change it. :P
Kelly Kelly said on her Twitter account over the weekend that the airline she traveled on lost her bags, which should explain why she wore sneakers for her match!!
I Dont Think Alicia Deserve The Title More Than Kelly Just Because She Was ON ECW In The Extreme Expose, Kelly Deserve The Title Because Of Her Reaction With The Fans And With Improvement That She Has Since She Left ECW. Because Any Diva Start In The WWE With A Great Roll Or In The Top. And If Kelly Is Less Than Aicia Just Because She Was On The Extreme Expose Then Alicia Start In The WWE As An Unkown Cheater.
Lady Sheamus You’re Right Because When I Saw Torrie For First Time I Start To Like Her Because In Her Personality And In Her Charisma I Found Something In Common With Me And That How My Love For Her Start Growing Deeper But After Saw That WWE Think Thta The Best Was Relesead Her. I Think That See The Matches And Divas Never Gonna Be The Same Without Torrie. And Few Weeks Later Kelly Kelly Was Draft To Raw And Then I Saw In Her Something Common But No Equal That I Saw In Torrie.
I Dont Care If Kelly Never Get A Title Because Torrie Do And Doesnt Change My Opinion About Her.
I Think That My First Comment Was Just For Angry Because I Want So Badly See Kelly Kelly As Champion. Sorry That it Dont Depends On Me Or Even On The Fans.
Well Now That Kelly Is Eliminated I Think Alicia Deserve It Because In Spite Of That She Is A Heel She Work Hard For it.
T, I think katie should have been treated better, but that does not mean she should have won cuz Eve sold the neckbraker or because of one move, they both seemed a little out if it and I guess when you’ve been training and all you get is a one minute match, you can’t help but feel a little jipped (in their minds sorta speak)
Then I guess mickie shouldn’t been winning either since last summer for that reason, but personally I do, but they all looked lovely for what it’s worth lol!
I must admit, i’m thrilled to see Eve advance.
I’m personally hoping that Gail could pull through – she needs to get a push, and then hopefully gain the fan fare she should’ve had months ago.
Any reason why Katie Lea wasn’t given much to work with??
MarBu13-Theres no rule that has I have to like Alicia fox. I don’t hate her but people seriously overrate her, she’s okay but people act like she’s the second coming of Jesus which she’s not. It’s fine if your fan of her but you don’t have to reply everyone who posts an anti-Alicia comment, not everyone loves her. Just my opinion
and Jillian never blew anything because she’s never been pushed…EVER. Even during her short program with melina she was losing every week, thats not a push, thats WWE stalling until maryse comes back.
@TorrieFan12 – your second comment, I can understand, because I couldn’t care less if my favs never won a title (THEY would care, yeah), so long as I got to see them wrestle. :)
@RKOyou – “Maryseus”, anyone? (Not saying you said it, but.) That woman’s been given divine status, apparently. I personally reserve that status for actual divinities, but oh well. lol :P
RKOYOU – Jillian’s boring in all honesty, even if she does lose all the time.. and ppl feel bad for her becuase she’s a jobber it’s no excuse to think shes so great and not being used well enough.. she’s had her chance with melina but those were cring worthy match’s. In reality she’s very limited in her move set and bland It’s like… gahhh end the match all ready.. she isn’t that Good at selling moves, she’s okay at delivering them.. but I don’t see Greatness in her ability to entertain us each week with some thing new.. moveset wise. I used to like her but then i realised truely she isn’t all that any more. that match where she lost the divas title to melina she totally botched the split leg drop.. it was painful and cringe worthy to watch, and that ses to wwe she isn’t capable of having high standard wrestling match’s.. she’s done okay with gail a couple of times even then it looked iffy becuase of awkwad spots between the two.
Alicia in all honesty sells moves very well, when she was on smackdown and she faced gail she sold every move with 110% effort, she delivers moves very well also. And is a believable heel character a serious one at that.
and as you saw here she’s trying new things ‘the powerbomb’.. it’s nice to see atleast one Diva on Raw other than Gail Kim adding new moves to her arsenal, Not to mention a Polished Scissor Kick for a finisher! – it’s sick.
well those are my opnions any ways.. everyones has a right to exspress them. I will say though in all fairness I’m not an Alicia Mark but shes very young and shows Great promise in many area’s of wrestling.
Tom I meant to type in
