Stew and Lee: So where in the world has the Women of Wrestling Podcast been for these last couple of months? Good question, dear listener… but while we ponder that one, why not sit back and enjoy a stopgap chat with WWE’s very own Kelly Kelly. Yes, you read that correctly. An abbreviated interview, but nevertheless, Lee had a lot of fun. Find out about breaking into the business, where she sees herself now and who her closest friends are on the road. Don’t forget to check out the Royal Rumble, on Worldwide PPV on January 31st. Also on the show, find out about the 2009 match of the year and news of a forthcoming all women’s promotion in the United Kingdom.

For show feedback, you can contact Stew and Lee at wowhosts@gmail.com.

Melanie: This really is a great listen and perhaps will open eyes towards Kelly for the majority of Diva fans. She came across extremely friendly, personable, sweet and funny. I can’t say she didn’t grow on me just that little bit more after listening. Lots of great talk about how she feels about short TV matches on Raw, what it’s like in the Divas lockerroom and also listen out for a funny Maryse comment! Thank you to the wonderful Stew and Lee as always and a round of applause is in order for Lee I think, what a fabulous interviewer!

Good interview guys. I really enjoyed it and knowing that they don’t really appeal to the shorter match times is cool. I’d love to see a houseshow match with some of the current crop to see what they can do, and definitely enjoyed listening to her. =]

Wow,just goes to show how much power the internet has.

I could have sworn at the start of the interview it was Erin not kelly. :p

Kelly sounded a bit tired in the interview, and if she was, props for going through it.

OK… is it me or didn’t it seem like Kelly was throwing some major shade to Alicia and Maryse. Maybe its me but joking about Maryse needing to take a shower seems kinda personal. As well as saying Alicia was in training for three years while she was put on TV right away. Mmm….

    @CuteBoiMd82
I don’t think that’s what she meant by the shower comment.
She just meant that Maryse feels like she needs her own space, ala the shower.
I wouldn’t read into things like that.
Also, I got the vibe that she was being nice about Alicia, calling her a very skilled diva, just that Kelly had been on TV longer, which is an actual fact.

i wonder if Kelly was being in character when she referred to the Maryse bit, or if Maryse is actually difficult to deal with, its probably the first one

I’m looking forward to the UK female wrestling show it will be nice to see what talent we may have in the UK

I’m impressed that she said that she learned a lot of stuff from the old generation of WWE Divas especially stuff from Sunny, Sable and Chyna

Of course she’s just in kayfabe-mode when she talked about Maryse, thought that was pretty obvious.

Oh, and great interview by the way.

Kelly seems really cool and really nice and it makes me wish she was a good wrestler so I could get behind her. I think shes a really cool person but she’s still rubbish at wrestling sorry but true. She has come along way and good for her but backflips and cartwheels aren’t wrestling. I do see her as a divas champ though the belt would suit her just keep her away from the womens title.

I agree with Bee_Miller on this. That’s not to take away from her as a person. It’s no surprise that she got on television first, given the capacity in which they wanted her to be used. She did sound really tired, something. He’s a great interviewer.

Thanks for the feedback guys and girls, it’s all appreciated and we take it all on board, be it good or bad comments.

Kelly was great to talk to, and I thought she was really candid considering her appearance was to plug the Rumble. It’s not the most probing interview WoW has done or will do, but it was nice to get a couple of exclusive comments out of it.

Yes, the Maryse talk was kayfabe, I thought that was pretty clear.

And she was a bit jetlagged, as she’d only got off a plane the night before and then was ferried in to do interviews. I praise her work ethic for doing that.

Like most of you have said, she does seem totally sweet, but I agree with Bee_Miller, she’s not that good but I still hope to see Kelly get the Divas title in 2010, after Gail & Alicia get lengthy runs.

OMG I think I may have a girl crush on Kelly Kelly she seems like a such a sweet girl and for her to take the this interview us just awsome! I honestly would like to see her withthe title like she said it’s been four years, Maybe with a little morering work she could take it this year! Ha doubt that the whole Maryse thing is true! Go team Kelly!

I’d like to echo Lee’s thanks for feedback. It’s all appreciated.

Armando, just to let you know – the theme music we use was my choice – it’s a song called “Chick Habit” by April March. It first came to my attention when it was on the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Death Proof’ soundtrack. Death Proof is one of my cult favourites, and the soundtrack is tremendous.

Anyway, it’s a quirky, fun and memorable little song, and the title amused me, given the content of the podcast.

great interview hope to see interviews with molly holly and lita one day

also jim ross had the folowing to say On Lita:
Emailers also frequently ask about Amy “Lita” Dumas who is traveling with her band and living in Atlanta the last I heard being a Guest Host on Raw. For the umpteenth time, I do not have any prior knowledge of who will be guest hosting Raw or what else may or may not occur on Raw or any other broadcast. I like it that way, for the record. Amy had a great run in WWE, was a pleasure to work with and one of my favorite hires.icant understand if he is saying she will be a geaust host ‘last i heard being a geust host on raw’ or wheter he has bad gramma and means he dosent know ?
