Most would agree that Daffney‘s barbed wire fall at Bound for Glory was one of the most unforgettable Knockout moments of 2009, but don’t expect to see much more of that in the near future. While Dr. Stevie’s “most precious patient” loves taking those crazy risks, she tells IGN UK that TNA is likely putting a stop to them:
“Yeah, we don’t do that anymore. I don’t like to fall down and go boom, and hit my head. We did that for a while. A little craziness. Some fun with some tack-ery. A little pin-cushion action on the back. Yeah, I’m not indestructible. So we decided that we’re not going to be doing that too much anymore.”
Which is totally smart, given how delicate the human head can be. I believe she can still be that crazy, hardcore Knockout without putting herself at serious risk–showing it through her character could be more than enough. As for getting physical in the ring, it seems like TNA is holding back on that a bit too, much to Daffney’s lament:
“I don’t wrestle that much [any] more. It kind of sucks and I hate it”…”But yeah, I would like to fight more. I totally would. I mean I really did fall down and hit my head pretty hard”…”So maybe that’s why, as of late – since that happened – they’ve been more focused on me hanging out and not wrestling because they really wanted to protect my head.”
While we at Diva Dirt have loved seeing Daffney come so far in the ring, we agree that it’s best not to aggravate that injury. If in the future she can go full-blast again, cool, but as for now, I think her Harley Quinn-esque gimmick with Dr. Stevie is more than enough to entertain us. What about you, readers–do you agree?

Well, I think she’s already in her thirties, and even though she does what she does to entertain us, she must take care of herself, since the wrestling career is something that doesn’t last a lot but can mark you for the rest of your life. Most performers will probably suffer with excruciating pains when their old, thanks to all the bumps they take.
Wise decision by TNA. However she should have more in ring time, since she’s really talented.
Good news. It was ridiculous that TNA let her take those dangerous bumps, she is probably the only woman in mainstream wrestling who stilll took bumps like that. And Daffney is a good wrestler, she never needed the dangerous bumps to get over with the crowd.
A good first step by TNA, now they just need to have a talk with Homicide and explain him that doing unprotected chairshots are ‘not done’ anymore in modern wrestling.
Daffney really deserves to wrestler more, she would make a great knockout champion no doubt, but TNA is doing the right thing right now letting her recover and relax more

Well, that’s good. Daffney has been one of my favorite wrestlers/personalities for years. The last thing I want to see is her getting seriously injured and forced to retire early. Plus, she’s one of the few people in wrestling who can really play an off-the-wall character and get over with it.
she has a great character so im sure we wont mind seeing her take it easy,
anyway her most recent match wasn’t too long ago (knockouts eve)
My girl doesn’t need to do anything outlandish to entertain, she is the best all-round character out of any other female in the business today. I am so glad that she won’t be involved in such risky bumps anymore, TNA and the rest of us can’t afford to loose such a talent!
My fav Knockout! Hope to see her around for a long time!
This is a good move. Safety first.
Daffney really deserves a push for all the good work she’s done with little card payoff.
