I’ve been thinking maybe it’s best for the WWE to just turn Maryse face. She’s not working as a heel cause no one boos her. Turn her face and see what happens.
Thank God for Gail. That’s about all I’ll say about that. LOL!
But Maryse is so goofy. Even her selling is weird. Who takes her seriously?

i think it was Eve’s fault with the absolute miss of a dropkick….
if you notice, Eve doesn’t leave her legs extended when she does
a dropkick, she pulls in her one foot that she uses for it like if
she is scared she is gonna hurt her opponent. u dnt see Gail
complaining when she nearly knocks her opponents across the
ring with her diving dropkick. Eve needs to get that fixed up asap,
Maryse needs to use the backbreaker more often, and her forward
russian leg-sweep.
The Eric I agree with the checking the shoulders thing. It slows the match down or something. I’m glad i’m not the only one bothered by that.
Wow Maryse was as awful as always. I srsly dont know how her constant crappy performances get so overlooked but she was awful. Her selling on Gail’s moves was dreadful, Gail had to oversell her lame kick, and she didn’t even hit the backbreaker right…it was more like a buttbreaker. Eve missed a dropkick and it sucks that Maryse will get another crappy performance overlooked due to one move that will be the talk of the town >_> Loved Gail tonight, liked eve and fox, hated the french pastry.
I think Maryse wears too much weave as well. I wish they’d pull it out like on TNA sometimes when it’s so obvious like that. About me saying Eve stepping up her game, I meant that finisher.
The RAW crowds are often dead or dead-ish during Diva (and other) matches to me. I kind of feel WWE is burying itself with this hosting/Hornswaggle/PG D-X stuff. These times right now are going to be looked back on with. Makes me think of the Rise and Fall of WCW (almost typed WWE :) DVD. The strongest can fall too, so let’s pick it up, WWE!
Thanks litaluva. And i agree with Maryse bringing back her old moves. I bust on her alot cause it saddens me to see her go backwards instead of forward & I know she can be a good wrestler.

Lady Sheamus that’s true. I’m just thinking back to the days when the women would get booed or cheered. I missed those days when the women would get reactions from the crowd & cared about the match. Any match.
@Teri – I wonder that sometimes; well, more like “Why do I still follow WWE Divas” Other women’s wrestling doesn’t make me feel like that. There is talent and potential amongst the Divas, though, so I continue.

Well, if you want quality womens wrestling, then check out Shimmer, NCW, WSU or try some Joshi like NEO, OZ, ICE RIBBON. Nothing wrong with womens wrestling, but unfortunately WWE and TNA have watered it down too much.
Maryse is getting a reaction because she’s hot and playing to the crowd. If Gail or Eve had stood on the apron, ignored the match, and teased the crowd, the front row would have been doing the same for them too. I have yet to see how Maryse’s character is getting her over with the crowd. Even her attack on Melina was getting crickets. Hell, even McCool could get the crowd riled when she would attack Melina.
Notes on the match:
Did Cole say that the semis will be in the upcoming Raws, as in plural? Isn’t next week the last Raw til the Rumble, which I assume will have the title match?
If I have to hear that Maryse went into a “self-imposed exile” one more time, I’m going to throw something at my TV! All Cole does is recap, recap, recap! It’s fucking annoying!

As much as I love Eve (and I think people here on DD know I’m the BIGGEST mark for her), that extremely sloppy of her. That said, I hope people don’t overblow this and use this as rationale to deny her a future push.
Kudos for that finish. I’m glad she added another move to her arsenal. Gives her depth.
Oh, and the crowd couldn’t have cared less when Gail and Eve won. It was dead in there!
Who in WWE management though it was a good idea to push Eve Torres over Alicia? Eve totally missed that dropkick & garnered no reaction when she came out! She’s god-awful! I highly doubt we are getting a divas match @ the RR guys sad to say. No face diva on RAW gets it done & the SD divas storyline doesnt even look like its nearing an end & if they push a triple threat match or w/e they’re trying tp do with this ”piggy james storyline” it will seem rushed. Yea i know! SUCKS. :(
I concur, Mikas. I follow WWE and TNA because I support most women’s wrestling, but I know that their product is sorely lacking and, in the case of the WWE, will probably never reach its full potential. For the good stuff, I second your recommendation of SHIMMER, WSU, NEO, and Oz Academy. Hell, I’d even recommend some old All Japan, JWP, or Arsion. LOL

JuicyJuiceBox, I don’t think people can rag on Eve for her botch when Maryse nearly breaking Gail’s tail bone with her botched backbreaker was just as bad! LOL
BTW — i know i said it already but SOMEONE IN WWE MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO BE SHOT!! EVE SUCKS. Kelly can look good and botch dropkicks too! LOL & she also gets a reaction from the crowd. Hey, atlease the divas title match will actually seem interesting to the crowd if shes in it.

litaluva06, because they would have been playing to people specifically in the front row. They were the only ways chanting for Maryse. The rest of the arena still didn’t care.
Alicia missing Gail when Gail was whipped into the ropes and Eve missing the dropkick was pretty rough. Otherwise, though, the match was okay.
With Eve winning, I think they may want her vs. Maryse to be the finals, which it would be if they have Gail vs. Alicia first and end it in a double-DQ or double-countout.

I 100% completely agree with you. I feel like ending my life whenever I hear him say “You are watching the longest running episodic show in television history!”.

I also forgot to mention, I didn’t TRULY realize how valuable Melina was to Raw’s womens division until tonight.

Seriously guys that match wasn’t that bad. Yes I know Eve screwed up the match, but at least she rebounded. I personally thought it was a good match for Raw Divas. You all expect wayyyyyyy tooo much from the wwe divas……You can tell she wears extentions like half of the diva roster does.

AJW Dreamslam I !!! Too bad modern wrestling fans have no idea what Dreamslam is. Even on divadirt i doubt many people even saw that classic. Cuty Suzuki/Mayumi Ozaki vs Kyoko/Takako Inoui, Akira Hokuto vs Shinobu Kandori. 2 of the few 5-star womens matches in wrestling history. And to think you can watch them for free on youtube!
I’ve never been crazy for Melina, though she is talented. When Melina was there, these same kinds of complaints were here too (botched moves, dead crowds, etc). But it changes how things work when certain (especially dominant) wrestlers aren’t there.
I think Michael Cole is not into it (anymore). He’s gotten way too much heat from inside and outside. Now he’s been reduced to a robot. For all we know, he WAS replaced by a robot.

I don’t think Eve “ruined” the match. It was just one mistake and at least I think she’s not prone to making it often. Eve’s improving. I’m impressed by her.
Eve is so awful. The best thing of that match was Alicia back breaker and the ending which was bad as well.
If WWE push Eve over Alicia or Gail they will be so stupid.

@xxChristinaxx: My predictions confirmed. Eve isn’t “awful.” This is the first major (as in completely obvious) slip-up of her TV career. If you want to get super picky, second if you count the “blame” placed on her over injuring Michelle. Everyone needs to cut her some slack.

@ Mikas- I wish Youtube had been around, when I first started getting joshi tapes. would have saved me some money! LOL! I loved Cuty Suzuki/Mayumi Ozaki vs The Inoues. And Hokuto is my absolute favorite wrestler of all time. It’s a shame that most people only know her from her WCW stint as she had some awesome matches in Japan.
@ Lady Sheamus- You should definitely check it out. The current joshi scene isn’t nearly like it used to be. But there are still good wrestlers and matches.
I don’t think Eve will get a lot of heat. If Maryse can still be considered a front-runner in this tournament, after that terrible Bella match, then Eve shouldn’t be punished for her flub.

The match wasnt that bad i mean its better than what we are usually used to. ALICIA went back to straight hair but for some reason i think i liked the crazy hair better. and speaking of CRAZY did anyone notice when MARYSE was on the floor lookin like she was crying and then 3 seconds later shes up normal fixing her hair and doing the hand thingy to the crowd lol shes a hot mess but i love her tho :)
JuicyJuicBox…I wholeheartedly agree with you, but…as I’ve mentioned on here before, Eve is from Diva Search, not the Indys, so she’s gonna get ratted on for her goof-ups. Really, it’s nothing new. Had it been someone who’s been around the block a few times (Gail, Natalya, etc.) It would have been called “a small mis-hap”. All you can do is hope Eve learns from it and knocks it out of the park next time.
BTW, I digged the submission move Eve did at the end. :)

I’m pretty sure Michael Cole has to repeat those things guys, because if he didnt McMahon would be up his ass like a g-string (& i mean worst then what he is now). What sucks is the fact the Melina is going to be gone so long that the WWE draft will have come & passed. By the time she comes back she OBVIOUSLY isn’t going to be the top face on RAW anymore & we probably won’t get that fued with Maryse like we were dying to see. (*tear*). Also, someone said that Eve rebounded after that botched dropkick? Wellllllll, FACT 101 — I didn’t. When that happened the match went from mediocre to me, down to god-awful. Sorry!
Hopefully she’ll do better in her match with Maryse next week…..Hopefully it’s down to Maryse and Gail Kim!
iLUVMARYSE: Haha, true with McMahon part. He can at least stop saying “vintage” before every other move though, I’m pretty sure at least THAT part is all him.
As I live in NZ and don’t get to see this match till it is posted on You Tube pretty much I get that they threw all four finalists in a match together where Maryse flaunted herself, Gail got pummeled, Eve was sloppy and Alicia was impressive but still got pinned. I like the sounds of that… not. I’m hoping that WWE used this match to decide who should come out on top in the tournament. I’m becoming more and more of an Alicia mark though I’m still gunning for Gail.

I thought the match was weird. At leas the camera angles were. When Alicia got tagged in, they had a shot where Maryse was taunting and posing on the right while Alicia and Gail were trying to be all super serious at wrestling. For you guys hating on Maryse, hate to break it to ya, but Maryse being an attention whore was entertaining. haha Eve pulling a Mickie and missing her dropkick was interesting. Especially since the one following looked bad. That move Eve pulled off didn’t look right. Even has a really thick/strong built and for her to try to wrestle like Alicia should be doing doesn’t look right to me.
Someone brought up the Bellas.. I think they are the only DS chicks capable of doing a dropkick the old fashion way of “both legs high in the air”. lol
But the shocker of the whole thing is ALICIA GOT A NEW WEAVE THAT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE A DEAD ANIMAL!
Everyone is entitled to least one bad match or a botch we most also remember that a veteran like Melina even Trish have their mess ups.
