Welcome to tonight’s edition of The Post-Raw Show! Tonight WWE threw us a curveball, booking a tag team match instead of the semi-final match we were promised. Aside from the match, we also discuss Maryse’s inactivity as of late, Eve’s new finisher and the possibility of two Divas matches at the Royal Rumble. As always, I’m joined by the rest of the Post-Raw team: Erin and David. Listen below and leave your thoughts in the comments!

WOW…..I’m sure this is all apart of Maryse’s Character look at her from 2008/2009 she was good….I am glad they had a tag match imo it does help build the storyline and take a break from single matches. I thought Maryse did pretty good compared to recent matches but she could do better if she had another grapple move. I think they all did decent.
Where has Melanie been? I miss her LOL. I could totally do the Post-Raw Show. Sign me up lmao.
Wait — is it Melanie or Tiffany that was on the Post-Raw Show with Stephen? LOL, either way..Bring her back! :)
& i totally agree with almost everything you guys we’re saying. As much as I love Maryse she hasn’t been getting into the ring much & it’s not because she’s incapable but more-so WWE is overprotecting her! & its not only on televised events. I went to a house show the day after Christmas & she started the match (which was good), stayed in for about 3 minutes then that was the end of it for her. She was on the apron taunting and posing & interupting pinfalls for the remaining 10 minutes LOL. IDK what to tell ya.
I agree with everything you guys said. but if ppl thought this week match was bad (which it really wasnt) imagine how the 2 matches will be next week becuz you know that their gonna rush them and with EVE already not being that experienced and MARYSE only doing 4 moves per match that should be a SLOPPY HOT MESS. but GAIL and ALICIA should be an ok 3 min match. and i would love for them to wait til WRESTLEMAINA for the MICHELLE vs BETH vs MICKIE kinda would remind me of the VICTORIA vs TRISH vs JAZZ.
Usually Eve’s dropkicks are on point. So I don’t no why everyone is making such a big deal about one botch, and to say if it were Mickie James it wouldn’t have happen? Really? lol EVERY diva has botched a move before.
Mel – fair point re: Eve and the dropkick, but the RAW Divas are not as polished in the ring as the SD ones and I find it odd that the WWE would put their “best” talent on a taped show.
IMO, the tag team match was just awful. Maryse backbreaker looks so sloppy and plainful looking(not in a good way) I think she does it wrong. Eve was so sloppy, Alicia messed up, and I can’t remember what Gail did in that match.
I agree that the all divas are train the same way it look like they teach them the same moves. All of the divas these days do monkey flips, dropkicks, headscissors, crossbody, backbreakers, and some type of suplexs. I just think that Michelle McCool and Alicia can do the same moves as the other divas but they have this swagger and unique to them that make a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker or a dropkick their own.
Like Eve can do dropkick, but Michelle did hers better. It just depends on the person and how they can make the move work. I think the divas match on RAW(and everwhere else) are now so predictable like you know what Alicia, Gail, Kelly Kelly, Eve, and Maryse would do next. If you do the same moves over and over again it gets boring just look at John Cena.
I didn’t like how they made Alicia tap out to Eve. When Eve botch like 4 times in that one match it didn’t make Eve look strong, but it made Alicia look really weak. I also don’t think that Alicia vs. Gail and Maryse vs. Eve would happen next week because Michael Cole said something like the divas would face in upcoming weeks.
The tag team was a great idea because ALL divas are still in the tournament but like Erin said whats the point of it when you team with the person you could be facing in couple more weeks? It would have been better if Maryse or Alicia would beat up each other at the end of the match, or did some type of “eww” to each other at the beginning; not working together, and not acting like they’re BBF samething with Gail Kim and Eve. Why was Gail Kim so happy that Eve pick up the win when two of them can be facing each other?
Good comments all! Christina, I like your point about the potential opponents in the tournament teaming and also how this made Alicia look weak.
lmaooo your comments about the creepy kelly palm reading thing were so funny! haha i thought the same thing.
Not trying to start an arguement or anything, I only saw one botch from Eve and that was the dropkick. Someone said she botched 4 times, where did those happen?? Could anyone point the others out to me if there were 3 other botches??
The crowd was so dead, even during the entrances, I officially hate Knoxville! The match wasn’t that bad, but the crowd just sucked all the energy out of that match that it made me want to shoot them all. Do you know what pisses me off? How they only tag out once, Gail starts the match, tags out 2 mins later and does jack shit til the end? WTF?
Well she didn’t botch a lot of time in that match but she was so sloppy. They was trying to make Eve looked strong once again but that didn’t happen.
The last time both titles were on the line was at NOC 2009.
How was Eve’s submission unique. It’s a cross-arm breaker.
She didn’t need to go to the top-rope and roll threw with it because it made it look lame. And when she was on the mat, she seemed to forget that you’re supposed to lay back and stretch the arm.
On another note, does anyone else think that WWE may pull a ‘Trish’ on us and have Eve win the title?
What I don’t like in Tag Matches is that they aren’t good for the Heel characters. A good heel, most of the times, thinks they are too good to be paired up with some loser.
Reading most comments are really amusing. Most of you look like you don’t give a shit to the WWE Divas, they always botch this, and botch that. They suck, and oh Alicia lost by submission to Eve now she looks so weak blahblahblah
The interesting part is that you ALL keep watching the divas over the knockouts.
In my opinion the match was great. The crowd was crap (as they were obviously not into it since they want to judge the botches instead of cheering like you all do.)
Yes Eve botched, but since they obviously needed to rush things up maybe Alicia should’ve get up faster or just keep standed up. That way they could cover the botch and just say Eve missed it. So stop bitching over that too.
The finisher was pretty cool. Maryse did good, Gail did good, Alicia did good.
It was a good match, don’t blame the girls over something that obviously isn’t their fault.
I liked that they booked a tag match. It helped build to the finals by showcasing the contenders. I also didn’t have a problem with them teaming with someone they might be facing later. That’s pretty standard in wrestling. Even UFC kinda does it with their The Ultimate Fighter show, and that’s real.
great show, i love hearing the 3 of u!!
@dunk20 ur sense of superiority is amusing. think ur better than other people here? oh yeah, acting big on the internet is a real character trait.
One criticism of the tag match was that it doesn’t make me care for the upcoming semis (whether both next week or next week and the Raw after the Rumble, I’m not sure if it was a slip but Cole did say RawS). I feel like they could’ve used this to build up some animosity between the two sets of combatants and it just wasn’t there.
And yeah, I’m done talking about “the” dropkick. She messed up, everyone does, let’s move on but keep in the back of our minds. Eve’s an athlete and the passion for the business is there. She’ll bounce back.
I think there’s too much over-analyzing that goes on here at DD and I’m guilty of it too. Believe it or not, I don’t think Eve winning means anything just because WWE changes things week to week. We can’t assume this means a push for her. Or even that finisher: I doubt we’ll see it for a while. If she tries to do it out of the turnbuckle like that again, it’s going to be hard to get her opponents in that position because the elaborate set up. Think about the moonsault, we saw it once and never again. That all said, I do think she needs a regular finisher. The handspring flip has gotten kind of stale and doesn’t feel all that impactful for me personally. It’d be cool if she brought her Brazilian Jiu Jiujitsu into her moveset though. She could be known as the grappling diva on the roster and seperate herself from the lot as you hinted the divas needed to do.
Wow, that was long. Did I mention I like to talk about Eve? haha

There are many different types of heels. This match was good in defining Maryse and Alicia as heels, the heel-tactics they used were very well done in this match, you dont see that much lately in WWE/TNA (at least not with the women).
my first thought in the match was “did Alica steal Layla’s weave?”
i agree with what Erin said about making the Divas over use a move, Gail use to get a pop when she did the turnbuckle dropkick now she does it so often that the crowd just doesn’t seem to respond
I’m still hoping someone unexpected wins, i like Maryse but i don’t think she deserves the title yet
and regarding the two divas matches on PPV question, the last time there were two matches on one PPV was at night of champions :S
Juicy – “And yeah, I’m done talking about “the” dropkick. She messed up, everyone does, let’s move on but keep in the back of our minds. Eve’s an athlete and the passion for the business is there. She’ll bounce back.”
I like Eve…I like the fact that she is a strong athletic girl who works hard…but it is fair to criticize her for missing a move that blatantly. Actually…maybe the blame should go to Alicia…should she have just stayed upright and then got hit with the next one? Maybe she was wrong? Thoughts?
Mr. Glamazon my first thought was that maybe Alicia had a little fault in that. I thought maybe she wasn’t close enough to Eve or something. Then I thought maybe Eve moves too fast and was just head of things. either way it was botch that happens and i’m not going to throw Eve or Alicia under the bus for it.
Good show!
TBH,all I remember from the match was Eve’s msised dropkick and the end.Eve is good at coming up with unique moces like her handspring moonsault,or her flipping senton.I especially love the way her dropkicks look. They seem crisp and fun.
