As we enter day two of the frenzy surrounding Awesome Kong and Bubba the Love Sponge, the former Knockouts Champion posted a couple of indirect tweets on her award-winning Twitter page:
“Kongfucious says: sometimes you must feed someone a fist to make them eat their own words.”
“Apologies to all of my supporters for the lack of tweets lately. Trying not to give certain talentless hacks publicity.”
Bubba responded via his radio show this morning. When asked if he was feeling better today, he said that he was until he saw the tweets from Kong, referring to her as ‘you know who’.
Sponge continued to make references to Kong throughout the show and welcomed guest Mick Foley, who had helped Kong’s Wrestlers 4 Haiti with a $2500 donation last week. Read below for notes on the show courtesy of Bubba Wrap Up.com:
* An e-mail said Bubba should’ve been able to hit Awesome Kong back. Bubba said he would’ve loved to blast her, but he thinks he made the right decision. Bubba said it didn’t hurt and would expect more from someone as fat and hideous as her.
* Bubba said he doesn’t care what happens with Kong and he doesn’t want to get a reputation of getting people fired. Awesome Kong continues to bad mouth Bubba on her Twitter page.
* Bubba said he was taken aback since he had just met Kong 15 minutes prior with Hogan, and he could’ve talked things out like he’s doing with Mick. Mick said he knew Bubba was a nice guy and would’ve been livid had he not known Bubba, and he wondered how this could’ve happened.
I love how he complains about her ‘bad mouthing’ him on Twitter after all the smack he’s been talking on his radio show.

Jeez…the guy really is jerk.

Bubba is not for real. She’s bad mouthing him? I’d hardly call those comments bad-mouthing. And she’s not being personal, and he’s calling her fat and hideous, which is wrong. Regardless of this, what you mentioned Melanie in D3 was right, she was in the wrong for hitting him. If he had slagged her off before hand, calling her personal jibes, I’d say she was in the right, yet she wasn’t. Still, good for her for standing up for what she believed in.

He’s a typical spineless faux-macho guy. He can dish it out, but he can’t take it. He needs to take a running jump.
January 20, 2010 at 5:23 pm
Of course a fat bloated wind bag will say he could have taken her but he doesn’t hit girls lol that’s what all egotistical men say when a woman puts them in there place but i also agree that any punishment if any (lets hope not to severe) she brought it upon herself
she should have said hey your asshole or whatever else lol but she should have used her words which by her twitter we can tell she good at lol
i dont get why when someone says something controversial that they don’t expect a negative reaction that so stupid
you say something asinine but don’t expect a negative reaction?
ppl are so delusional these days
but i hate saying this cause i love Kong not only she a good wrestler but she proves not matter shape and size u can be just as athletic
lol but my mean and vicious side hope there is security tape of the incident so i can get a bowl of popcorn and laugh watching the great Kong give this guy the what for.

I saw that tweet from her and responded to her. Coolness. I’d think that at this point there’s nothing wrong with her responding. He got his licks in (after she physically got hers) verbally, speaking much more disparagingly than her (by leaps and bounds). I feel like something had to be a build up to the actual altercation. I’d think it strange that she’d just crack. Even if it was just locker room discussion first before she confronted him. I wonder…
January 20, 2010 at 5:27 pm
I’m wondering about that to now he’s trying to make himself look like a tough guy saying I wanted to hit her back yeah sure ya did.
January 20, 2010 at 5:30 pm
lol this ass-wipe gives ppl like Stern bad name
i think he should have apologized for his comments about Haiti atleast “that was my opinion sorry if i offended anyone that wasn’t my intent” but a guy like him won’t
least ppl like Imus are smart to apologize lol
January 20, 2010 at 5:35 pm
He actually did apologize for the comments. On his Twitter he said: “I am going to say this one time and one time only. First of all a real man sometimes has to take a step back and maybe look at something they said or did so that being said I would like to apologize for my comments regarding Haiti in the world of live radio that I operate. Sometimes u say things that u can’t take back. So I’m man enough now to say I’m sorry for those I offended.”
But then he takes he all back by other things he’s said/done since then.

I wonder if they will turn this into a work. If i was a TNA executive i would order both Kong and Bubba to keep a low profile. But seeing them both continue to talk about it makes me wonder if it’s becoming a work.
January 20, 2010 at 5:59 pm
I doubt they’ll turn this into a work, yet with Hogan’s “you could take her” comment and his laid back, pathetic attitude, it wouldn’t suprise me.

mikas: “I wonder if they will turn this into a work.”
i would love to see kong utterly destroy him in the ring. apparently there’s a lot of tension in the impact zone with the “old” fans and the new hoganites/”bubba army” who have started to overflow the bleachers, i’m pretty sure the oldies in the crowd would mark out for it, too.
January 20, 2010 at 7:41 pm
lol i feel like Hogan himself might be a cancer to TNA
January 20, 2010 at 7:55 pm
Wow.People are so sad these days.
January 20, 2010 at 11:16 pm
I actually think this is a work. Remember when Hogan said he had huge plans for her? I’m guessing Bubba is apart of the HUGE plan (pun intended). I think it’s safe to assume that Kong might vs men this year a la Chyna so maybe this is a way of sorta getting into the storyline.
January 20, 2010 at 11:32 pm
Mannnnn, would I love to smash Bubba’s face right about now.
January 21, 2010 at 12:18 am
I really hope she doesn’t get fired over this. That douche bag is not worth it.
January 21, 2010 at 12:25 am
ReyStyle94, I wouldn’t be surprised if that theory was true at all.
January 21, 2010 at 1:41 am
SHE SHOULD’VE KNOCKED HIS DUMB ASS OUT!!!!
January 21, 2010 at 2:59 am
@Cyndi – Agreed.
I’d love to see Kong go against the men, but despite that I don’t think that Bubba even deserves any more TNA spotlight even if it would be because Kong was kicking his butt. He just needs to go away already.
