So did she asked for release or not? I really hope she can change her mind.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Ok,seriously,I’m so confused right now.Is she released or not?
Oh crap.Just saw the end of the vid.I guess she did ask for release.
And “The dirt”,I think DD just got mentioned. There’s an upside, heh, heh :(
So, did she ask for her release or not? I’m all scared and confused!

It sounds like a confirmation to me but I don’t want to use the word ‘confirmation’ until it’s 100% confirmed by her. I don’t wanna go on a conversation that we’re only hearing a snippet of. At the end of the video, the driver/her friend says: “So what’s the dirt saying about your release soon?” which makes me think she has requested it and it’s been granted.
TrishMelinaFan, I don’t think they meant us. Probably meant ‘the dirt’ as in short for a dirtsheet.
I really can’t imagine TNA without her. :/
uck ilove kong :)
ill miss her
going to tna on 23rd in glasgow gona take a pics of the knockouts so ill send them to u diva dirt
wish kong was still going :(:(:(:(:(
It is 5:45 PM EST on Thursday, and the TNA Wrestling site still has Awesome Kong listed as participating in this weekends tour of the UK. I am not sure, but her name has not been removed yet.
Hope she is staying too.
If she leave TNA I’m going to cry.
Melanie-Well,we can dream,can’t we? *sigh*
I hope this news isn’t true, but judging from the video I think Kong did file for release.
What a trainwreck! I really hope she goes to WWE even if they book her terribly which I don’t think they would given how unique she is.
hogan is in tna since 3 weeks and 100000000 bullshits happens because his pals!!!!!.Tna might die soon…..
tna are usually quick on the trigger to remove talent from their website’s roster section, with kong still up, they’re either really slow today or she’s not gone yet. i hope for my sake, and i assume many of us here and worldwide, she and tna/dixie are in crisis talks of a sort.
if they do let her leave and keep bubba on their payroll, we need to organise some sort of boycott or something!
whatever happens, she gets a definite proverbial pat on the back from me. as far as i recall, talent usully only ask for their release if they’re sick of the direction their character is going in or there’s a severe lack of tv time for them. for kong to make a stand like this and stand up for what she believes in (assuming the whole thing stems from the bubba situation), she is one cool chick.
:( i hope not
i wonder who they would they switch the title too?
I support Kong 100% in whatever she decides to do.
Fuck Bubba and fuck Hogan.
WOOT! Kong to the E.
TBH I would love to see Kong in WWE and all, but no offense to her (I love her and All) she doesnt really fit the Diva Image and i couldnt even imagine what WWE would do with her
Its a damn shame she may be leaving because of some wanna be Howard Stern ass-hole!!!
i meant the tag tiles
Are you kidding me?some of you must be blinded by passion!Kong is never going to the WWE,you know why?Because Kong doesn’t even remotely fit their image, that’s why!
unless they change their direction,WWE will never hire Kong, and they don’t need to!Kong is too much of a great talent who could be blazing trails over in Japan to be wasted like Gail Kim in the E’.
I really hope they work it out as Kong has contributed so much to TNA. She will still continue to have a great career after this incident whether she is in TNA or not.

Maybe you haven’t noticed yet, but WWE stopped hiring “models” more than a year ago. They are once again focussing on good looking wrestlers and women with a bodybuilder/fitness/athletic background. The 2 last models were Tiffany and Courtney (both ‘hooter girls’). Since then we saw Serena get shaved, hire Sarona Snuka (definately not a diva look), and give tryouts to Becky Bayles and Amy Hennig, also neither have the diva look.
Well it’s obvious where Hogan’s loyalties lie, with that moronic tosser. Kong is the face of the KO’s and with Hogan making decisions to let her go (if that is the case), TNA’s is going downhill already. Good on Kong though for crossing the line (nice TNA pun there haha) and deciding she didn’t want to be there.
and Mikas, don’t forget Naomi Night (not the prettiest) and then Vickie Guerrero, who is the most hated “Diva”, and they’ve marketed her totally different to every other female in the company. If WWE wanted Kong, they could easily give her a niche as a female Umaga/Khali type, a total unstoppable force who wreaks havoc against the men aswell as the women. She could become totally feared. So in regards to TrishMelina fan, Kong could easily do well in WWE.
After previous incidents with Roxxi and Nash they were suspended for 60 days. I wouldn’t be surprised if TNA was trying to suspend Kong for her actions, and as a reaction Kong then asked for her release. Didnt something similair happen when Roxxi left?
Guys, asking for your release and being granted your release are two very different things. Awesome Kong may have requested her release, but TNA Wresting does not have to grant her the release.
this is terrible.
my heart broke when I read this.
TNAFan80 – We don’t know the contract details. Knockouts are allowed to work indy shows (although i think they need permission for that). They can’t really force her to sit at home to sit out her contract, because they say most wrestlers in TNA only get payed when they are used. So forcing a person to sit at home so they dont have an income is inpossible, that would a court case that you cant loose. But like i said, we dont know the contract details, so its all speculation.
please WHERE IS SHE GOING TO GO, WWE ain’t going to hire her in a million years
If she does leave, she will be back TRUST ME. THEY ALL COME BACK EVENTUALLY, Roxxi and Angelina are great examples
Oh no! :( If she does leave, maybe she’ll come back when Bubba (or Hogan–here’s hopin’) leaves. I wonder which on TNA fans value most. Hmm…
WWE will NEVER hire kong, WWE divas are supposed to be skinny and HOT and no offence to kong, she’s neither. She wears the same outfit every week and her moveset could literially injure all the divas
it’s nothing but wishiful thinking for you all
Mikas, Awesome Kong has a written contract with TNA Wrestling, therefore TNA Wrestling can tell her they will not grant her release and she will have to continue working for them. (It has happened with Homicide, Frankie Kazarian, and several others in TNA and it happens all the time in WWE.)
TNAFan80 : You are right.
Because Homicide(my baby) asked for his release, but TNA turn him down.
Zephyr5326: IMO, I think Naomi Night is super pretty if you see her pictures on her myspace. But I think that Aksana(who they signed couple months ago) is not that cute at all. But I do agree what you said about Kong.
This sucks! Hogan said he loved Kong just before he did the press conference about his signing with TNA – so if he has any influence on this situation now, he is a two-faced asshole and he is using backstage politics like he did in WCW.
I agree that she’s not what WWE is looking for. There’s already been comments about Serena changing her image after getting with them, and many other Divas have done the same–but how could they make over Kong to fit…? I agree that it’d be cool if she came on and ran through the WWE roster, but tbh Kong is too good a talent to be wasted by WWE.
Oh, man. I hope this isn’t true. I’ve followed Kong’s career since the AJW days and she has been phenomenal in TNA. I think it could be argued that, if it weren’t for her and Gail Kim, the Knockouts Division wouldn’t be what it is now. If TNA really let her slip away then they’re fools.
I would never want to see Kong in WWE. Could you imagine her jobbing to Maryse!?! Ugh. LOL
WWE already has their version of Kong in Beth, and honestly I would rather watch Beth wrestle as she is more flexible in what she can do with her opponents.
Best of luck to Kong. She has Shimmer and a big name in Japan so she shouldn’t have a problem finding work.
To say that WWE would NEVER hire Kong you taking it to far. 1) Never say Never 2)You don’t work for WWE so you don’t know who they would hire or not.
Kong can be great for WWE and the divas.
Sorry for us having wishful thinking, RKOyou. Disagreeing’s fine but sometimes it’s not what you say but it’s the way you say it, I swear. :)
I think that if WWE ever DID do a swerve and hired Kong I would feel encouraged about what direction they were going in b/c honestly if they amped up their women’s division it could increase interest. So long as there’s a good story/good wrestling then people who want that won’t care if it’s a women’s match. TNA is an example of this.
I think Kong is unclassifiable in her appearance and that’s why I can still see WWE picking her up. She’s too unique in her appearance to say they’d never give it a shot. There isn’t another female wrestler on the planet with Kong’s physical stats.
Lady Sheamus – The WWE is the most globally recognised wrestling company in the world, so how can you say she will be wasted there? Even the biggest jobber in the WWE [Chavo, Evan] are more known than TNA’s best, and with the right booking, she could become their top diva. I’m assuming that your assuming they will make her job, but if they did hire her, there is no way you could make her job. Her sheer size and mass will make it look completely fake and I know the WWE aint that stupid.
@Lady Sheamus:
I agree I don’t want to see Kong in WWE serious. Because she would just be a jobber and she’s to great for that.
ReyStyle94 – Yes they’re the most globally recognised wrestling company in the world but have you seen Raw, the whole is painiful to watch
I remember when Angelina got released and everyone started getting excited saying WWE will offer her a contract in no time and THEN, 4 months went by and still no offer
Yes but that was because she had visa issues. She didn’t leave the company, she was forced out, and that’s different, because if you leave, you’re saying you don’t like how you’re being used, and would like to be used in a better way. I do agree with RAW, this guest host era is one I can’t wait to forget. RAW has just become a platform for stars to advertise their crappy movies no one will watch, so there’s one thing we agree on.
The talk of Kong becoming a jobber is just silly. It wouldn’t happen. Hell, it didn’t even happen to Beth, and Kong can be portrayed as 10 times as dominant.
Matt said it perfectly. Kong is unclassifiable/unique to the point of being an “attraction”. I would put money on the WWE trying to sign her, if she is indeed granted her release.
I don’t think WWE cares enough about their women’s division to hire someone as unique and talented as Kong, a wrestler that could put many of their males to shame. Plus, she’s quite frankly too good for them. If she doesn’t return to TNA, I’d much rather see her in the indies or Japan.
@Jamal, that is the point I meant, that right now WWE doesn’t seem to value Divas enough to give talents like Kong the range she could have. I kinda feel it’s too bad that a lot of people think that bigger is better. Yes WWE is the biggest promotion in the world but when that happens sometimes companies get complacent and it has bad results. Case and point: RAW right now. I couldn’t care less about the size or glossiness of a promotion but it seems like WWE is less about wrestling and more about the “E”. I agree that I’d rather see her elsewhere dominating than marginalized in a big company. She’s too good because she deserves more than that. My opinion.
I agree with Undi, i wouldnt be surprised if WWE is offering her a contract, why would she ask for her release from a compamy that she is a champion of, and if the wwe offered Kong a try out in 2007 before her TNA run and know that she one of TNA biggest stars and is on the market i, think wwe is talking to kong, Just think Wrestlemania kong Vs Phoenix dream match or more Kong Vs Gail
Like i said the part that is getting me is the champion part?????
Plus just a little fact i read somewhere with all of Raw and Smackdown diva equal 103 years in experience, TNA (without Kong and Flash) have 115 years experience for knockouts, only 12 year difference.
Also with wwe signing indy women now (Aj, Serena, Jemma, and Sarona) they are changing there way alittle and plus they signed Sarona Snuka who is not the WWE diva type
