The Wrestling Observer website is reporting that Knockout, Awesome Kong gave notice to TNA management at Tuesday night’s taping. They write:

as the wrestling observer mentions, it is pretty common (unfortunately) for the talent to request their release. i think in the past month alone, both homicide and frankie kazarian have done so, to no avail of course.
whether this is the case, or not, i guess she’s got her reasons *waves to bubba*. all the best to her whatever happens.

I can’t blame her, i just heard the last Bubba show (why am i listening to that crap?) and he still continues to call her names.
But to tell you the truth, TNA needs Kong more than Kong needs TNA. Ever since Gail left they had no idea on what to do with her. And she is a huge star, she can easily go to WWE, make lots of money in the indies, or dominate the scene in Japan (the joshi scene is desperate for new stars right now, and they love monster heels over there, see: Dump and Aja). So no matter what will happen, we haven’t heard the last of Kong ;-)
agreed, mikas. kong was pretty well known in both the indies and the japan scene long before tna wanted her. also, wasn’t it said that wwe made her an offer but she turned them down and chose tna instead? whatever happens, she’ll do just fine. as long as she’s happy, i guess.

This is a big development. Even bigger if she ends up going to the WWE, who I really think could be salivating on the opportunity to sign her. She would have an immediate impact on either RAW or Smackdown. The woman is someone you can build a division around.
Kong would annihilate the Diva’s division, they couldn’t add Kong to the mix without making her look like a jobber to weak divas or make the entire roster look like a jobber. Those girls aren’t booked to handle Awesome Kong.
Edazon – you are only as strong as you are booked by the creative team. It’s not a question of wether she CAN fit in, it’s wether the creative team WANTS to.
Kong SHOULD annihilate the Diva’s division for a while, effectively giving rub to the woman who can finally overcome her. Kong’s physicality will STUN casual fans and really give the division the “anti-piss break” star to keep people in their seats. Not to mention, Kong can revisit a feud with Gail Kim, which ironically is what initially propelled the Knockouts division past the WWE’s Womens division in the first place. Talk about coming full circle…
Beth could face Kong. Natalya, Katie!!! It would be awesome !

In all seriousness, this is completely shocking news. I think this could easily just be a ploy by Kong though to get some form of reaction and see how TNA officials react and whether they need her.
Mikas was right too, Kong doesn’t need TNA, they need her. She’s their top KO (besides Tara) and without her refreshing matches as of late, the KO division could easily become stale without her presence. Interesting to see where this will go.
Its really sad to see Kong go…but i guess she has to do what she has to do…Im gonna miss her in TNA.

Can’t say i blame her with that Bubba guy shitting all over her on his Radio show, she probably listens in.. it must be hurtful to hear all the things he ses, not to mention Hogan saying ‘You could take her’ must have ratteled her abit.
WTF? AGH. This is horrid, although I can’t really blame her…Hogan goes from praising her at a book signing to bashing her on Bubba’s show. Pardon my french but Fuck Hogan! He’s an overrated, over the hill camera hog who doesn’t know how to retire and let others have their time. She may as well get out before things go massively downhill as I’m sure they will now that the Band is back together and the old folks are running things.
Kong will be fine no matter where she goes. Although I really don’t see the WWE picking her up. They wouldn’t know what to do with her and I can see them just ruining her. She’s got other opportunities and her loyal fans will follow her no matter what!
Hogan can go kick rocks. Kong would murder the less capable Divas. And I’d be laughing the whole time.
Like I said in the other topic. If she does, I wish she’s hired by WWE.
