Diva Dirt has just received word that TNA Knockout, Alissa Flash — real name Melissa Anderson — has parted ways with TNA.
Anderson made her debut in January 2008 as Raisha Saeed, manager of Awesome Kong before debuting a second character, ‘The Future Legend’ Alissa Flash in July 2009. Saeed was written out in October last year and Anderson continued to compete as Flash until her departure.
During her time in the company, Alissa has competed in memorable matches with Sarita, Hamada, Awesome Kong and Tara.

I know hey? I’m more of a WWE fan but still, WTF? I do hope they (her and Kong) come to the E. If you think about it, this isn’t a big blow as she wasn’t involved in any feuds and was being under-utilised.

I don’t think TNA released her, I think she either asked for her release or she asked for her release and they also agreed it was time

I was afraid things like this were going to start happening once Hogan and Bischoff got involved with TNA. (I’m not saying that they are soley responsible for the two of them leaving.) I’m not a fan of TNA but I did watch on occasion (spelled wrong, sorry) because of the Knockouts being different. Meaning, the women did not look like the “Barbie, caked on make-up, dyed blonde and stick thin” Divas of the WWE. Now that the six sided ring is gone, Awesome Kong has reportedly given her notice and Alyssa Flash is gone…..watch. WWE part 2. It was already going that way with all the former WWE wrestlers there. :-(
This is horrifying!!!! Alissa is such a brilliant wrestler! Why, WHY!?!? I can pray for her to go to WWE but that sadly wont happen. ): She would do amazing on Smackdown!! Beth, Mickie, Natalya, Michelle, Serena & ALISSA. She should be on Tv. UGHHH.

She hadn’t been on tv for almost 2 months, so probably this is the best for her. She has jobbed for 2 years straight in TNA, under 3 different names. And let’s face it, if you arent going to be used, then you might as well leave.
Just like for Kong goes, that Cheerleader Melissa was already a big name -before- signing with TNA. So this wont effect her much. She is one of the most wanted women in the indies, and a mainstay on the SHIMMER roster, and also active on NCW Femme Fatales.
This is a huge loss for TNA, the MsChif-Melissa feud from 4 years ago (Shimmer #1-#6) has opened the eyes of many fans of female wrestling. Shame on TNA for not using such an extremely talented wrestler.

Can’t really say I blame her though. I had a feeling she was going to leave TNA, but I thought they would release. Either way TNA really dropped the ball. I’m really sad because she was truly wasted and it’s a damn shame because she is a true gem in women pro wrestling.

I was thinking the same thing. Both Melissa and Kong would be perfect SHIMMER champions, but that would be impossible while they were under contract with TNA.
It’s seems TNA is more worried about signing big stars rather then developing there own talent. Alissa could have easily been a front runner for the Knockout’s division but they constantly put her on the back burner for new talent. That is solely TNA’s loss… The once fun family work environment i’ve heard so much about has turned into cut throat chaos. Dixie needs to be more cautious about Hogan/Bishoff running things. Yes they have that wrestler/manager business experience but didn’t WCW fall.

Mikas, so true. Last weekend I just watched SHIMMER Vol 4 with the MsChif/Melissa match with falls count anywhere (I’m late to SHIMMER and have Vols 1 – 6 and have watched 1 – 4 so far)…
I don’t think my eyes ever left the screen. IT WAS FANTASTIC! Those two are beautiful to watch in the ring, their match on Vol 1 was awesome but this one on 4 was 10x better. And the main event Knox vs Haze was a real wrestling clinic, it was the best techincal match I’ve ever seen. SHIMMER shows what women are really capable of, and if Melissa doesn’t get picked up by WWE (which I kinda hope doesn’t happen because the women of the ‘E don’t get to show what their skill set really consists of), then SHIMMER and other indies will only profit from her release.
This is sad news but not totally unexpected. TNA didn’t deserve her talent.
Could it be that they are seeing the direction TNA is going? Hmmm… this is sad news. I don’t think the Knockouts would ever be the same without Kong. And without Alissa, that just pretty much butchered their chances in the future. But hey, there is still LVE. (place sarcastic face here.)
And yes, I’m fully aware of the grand debate about LVE a couple of posts ago. Still, it didn’t change the way I see her. And there really isn’t anything that anybody can do should I wish to complain about her skills. Sorry. ;)
