TNA is currently in Europe for an overseas tour which kicked off in Glasgow, Scotland on Saturday night. Diva Dirt reader Gavin sent in these pictures and his own report of the show which featured Hamada vs Sarita in Knockouts action. He writes:
I have to say the match wasn’t as good as they are on TV, both were sloppy and the crowd weren’t into the match. I was shouting so loud, I got a killer sore throat after it lol. Hamada worked the match as a heel grabbing hair, pulling tights… that sort of thing. She had some heat at times but the match was dead compared to the other matches on the card. Hamada started with a couple of headbutts and punches and Sarita came back with some punches then a hearscissors. In the end, Hamada won.

i was at the event and i completely disagree. the crowd maybe wasnt as lively as they were for the other matches but it was definately not dead. there was this is wrestling chants and a lot of clapping. i was screaming loudly to ha. i agree though that it wasn’t as good as there television performances but wasn’t sloppy at all.
well for what i saw i thought the match could have been better :) the crowed maybe where clapping and shouting but they where dead at times the row i was sitting in was near the ring and the people there couldnt wait to this match was done i was not wanting it to end me my self a big knockouts fan they never put much into the match
as i thought they would have
same really if awsome kong maybe been there could have been better
There seems to be conflicting reports regarding the match between Hamada and Sarita. Most reports praise the Knockouts for actually WRESTLING and a select few say the match was bad. I think it’s going to come down to what kind of women’s wrestling you actually like.
i love knockouts wrestling but there wasnt much that night it was rushed like what happend on tna on thurs
alot of people next to me wernt into it like i was
i was shouting and balling my head off
started a clap right after taylor did and got my whole row to clap for sarita
dont get me wrong i did enjoy it better than the 1 i saw of the divas a few years back but i think tna should have put morefire into this match
the match was on after the three way, which has been said to be motn. plus, with it starting after intermission, i’m assuming some if not most fans were still in lines for drinks/food, which could explain the quietness. i’m more disappointed with the reported botchiness of the match, though, rather than the crowd response. i heard reports of there being a “we want kong” chant?
speaking of kong, with her not being on the tour, velvet and madison are flying out tonight to join tna midway. i’m assuming they’ll be putting on tag matches (ttbp vs saritaylor) for the rest of the tour.. feel kinda sorry for hamada.
melanie/erin, just a heads up, i’m attending the london show on saturday, i’ll likely email you any photos/video i get.
yeah maybe kaledrina
i did see some botches
wis tbp were there wen i was
and yeah i heard we want kong
any way i did enjoy it but
i didnt hear we want kong.. but i definately dont think it was a bad match at all. and i cant understand why people were chanting that though haha
Anyone else think morale may be down amongst the knockouts?
I was at the event and I think most of us expected more from Hamada and Sarita, due to what we have seen of them on Impact. The match was not bad, but I kept waiting for it to pick up pace and get going, which it didn’t really do. I wanted to see Taylor wrestle aswell, I kind of thought they would have brought another Knockout over to tag with Hamada since they took Kong off the tour. But no such luck.
@Michael, if they’re gonna scale down on them because of all the changes in TNA I think it’s a possibility. And with Kong handing in her notice it could be a really tricky time for the Knockouts. I cannot believe Dixie Carter the birdbrain is letting Hogan and Bischoff change the produce she worked so hard to build. If the Knockouts sucked before they came in I could possibly understand if they scaled back on them….but they were doing strong numbers for a good 2 years and there’s a good selection of really strong matches to choose from. Plus their DVD in 2008 sold well (especially compared with the rest of their releases).
I say add a second show for those wrestlers getting less time on Impact, including some Knockouts.
I think the problem with Hamada and Sarita as I’ve always said is that they were just shoved into the company under the ‘foreign talent’ gimmicks in which automatically cuts down their character as they’re not allowed to talk because of it, despite the fact that unlike Hamada on television we know that Sarita speaks English etc.
Another problem is that Hamada is still in her rookie year in the company and she’s had sporadic rivalries and has acted tweeneriesh despite intiially seeming face and now she’s heel, its like they don’t know what to do with her, because they can’t allow her to talk now and so it seems like they did with Sarita, they’ve anchored her with a more popular and well known Knockout that can gain them some personality and appeal. If I had it my way, I’d have paired both Hamada and Sarita together as they both have similiar styles and wrestling backgrounds, not to mentiuon the fact they entered the company at the same time. If Kong ever left, I’d love to see this happen, for Sarita to turn on Taylor, whose character has just become dull as ditchwater anyway, plus with Alissa and possibly Kong going, they need a new heel around the place that isnt a member of the Beautiful People.
