Welcome to this week’s edition of Unwrapped! As always, we will be grading all of the new photoshoots (or “eye candy”, as we like to call them) from the week gone by, judging them like so:
You, the reader, will also get the chance to grade the “eye candy” yourself by giving your opinion on each shoot and voting for your favorite out of the whole bunch. Now, dive in!
Brie & Nikki Bella‘s Bronzed
Grade: Sweet. For all their matchy-matchy photoshoots, the Bellas usually find a way to differentiate their looks. Here, Nikki’s wearing boots while Brie’s got on heels. Both go great with the dress, which is quite pretty on its own. It’s rather simple in design, but the shiny bronze color looks spectacular against their skin and hair, and the requisite flower in the hair is a pretty cream color that compliments the rest of the outfit greatly, not looking as tacked-on as their “hair flowers” have in the past. The poses aren’t very exciting, but I love the different ways they pose with one another. The poses may not always work, but it’s cute to see them leaning on one another as they often do, and the chair poses (that would probably look awkward with any other pair of Divas) are cool too. Cute outfit, cute poses? It might not make for a groundbreaking shoot, but I think that makes for a nice Bella twins shoot. I guess the old adage applies here–two heads are better than one–because if this were occurring with only one Diva (the outfit and particularly the stoic poses), it wouldn’t be half as interesting.

Katie Lea‘s Redrum
Grade: Bland. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Katie Lea shoot (thanks to her ECW departure, I’m sure), but now she’s back to her old tricks–literally. This shoot is no different than the dozens we’ve seen before–spooky makeup, creepy poses, dark clothing. That said, it’s her forté, so she certainly does it well, but it’s just not that exciting when you’ve seen it so many times before. I’m not asking her to dramatically change her look, not at all. But it would probably help add some excitement to her photoshoots if she branched out into different clothing–still the same gothic feel, but more than just a top and trousers. Most Divas are able to mix up their looks without forsaking their characters, so it shouldn’t be impossible for Katie to do the same. She’s clearly perfected this photoshoot shtick, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t ever waver from it.

Maria‘s Razor’s Edge
Grade: Sweet. It’s a bit of a blast from the past, as Maria looks like a lost 80s child here. That’s not meant to be an insult, though! After all, if she can’t go all out in photoshoots, where can she? Maria’s got the big 80s hair, a cropped leather jacket, black tank top tucked into skinny jeans, and sky high heels. It’s certainly costume-y, but I really like it. Her poses help it too, with a range of emotions and sexy looks that help sell that retro feel. She kind of looks like an 80s pop star, now that I think about it. All that remains is a mall tour where she can belt out her sugary songs for the teenaged masses. Also, can I say that I love that she’s wearing two gloves instead of just one? Symmetry at last!!

Melina‘s Ripped
Grade: Sweet. I’m not enamored by the outfit by any means–I’ve never been a fan of tights under too-short tops, and the holes are something that kind of take away from the look rather than add to it. However, the boots are gorgeous and the purple theme she’s got going in her accessories is great. Her hair and makeup are pretty as well. I have a sneaking suspicion that if there weren’t holes in the tights or top (and the top were a wee bit longer), I’d love the look. The poses are great too, with Melina really working the camera and moving about for some really interesting shots. She really puts thought into her poses, and that’s on display here. I also like that they’re not too sexy–after all, this look is rather casual, so it would look silly for her to be writhing about like she’s in a Whitesnake video. There’s a causalness about the poses that compliment the look, so I like that it’s not forced into being some cookie cutter “sexpot” shoot. Still, the holes! Why the holes??

NOTE ON TNA PHOTOSHOOTS – I tend to only cover photoshoots with a decent amount of photos. So if TNA has a new shoot with Tara, but there’s only 3 photos, I’m going to skip it. No hard feelings. They all looked great i liked melina’s the best. i dont like those blonde dread things that katies got in her hair they kinda creep me out.

Katie Lea: The gothic look is good for her, it just that it’s not very photo friendly. Or at least, they haven’t found a way for it to be photo friendly.
Maria: The outfit and the hair make her look like a watered down punk rock witch or something. Tis ok overall.
Melina: I’m convinced this girl just can’t look bad! It’s that face, so radiant! My favourite this week for sure.
Melina looks like a Kardashian in a lot of these pictures–and that’s not a bad thing, just a comment. It’s a really different look for her and I like it!

Bella’s: So bored of them. Same old faces and poses. They bring nothing to the table.
Katie: She’s gorgeous and has nice bone structure, but it’s another boring shoot. I hate her bronde dreads and the tacky makeup.
Maria: Once again, she over accessorizes. It would be much better with just one of two. She has some really great faces and poses in some shots.
Melina: Pretty, but overrated.

My favorite shoot has to be Melina’s. She looked amazing as always and was really rocking it. I’m just upset we won’t be seeing her for awhile :*( As for those Bella Twins, can we please stop having pictures of them every week! Maria’s shoot was kind of 80′s rocker chick, and I liked it. As for Katie Lee, I just wished was saw her in the ring as much as we do in pictures. I think she’s very talented but we don’t get to see it so much.

Katie Lea looks a hot ass mess. Melina looks cute though.
The Bellas know how to show off their, um, “assets”; so glad to see that they’re proud of that curviness cause it looks great! I LOVE Katie Lea’s look; always have.
LOVE the Melina shoot.
I graded them all bland yet I only graded the Bellas that due to Nikki’s weird facial expressions as Brie looked stunning, shame about Nikki’s face. I love Melina, yet the shoot wasn’t that good. Maria looked good yet her face is off putting and Katie Lea was same old, same old unfortunetly.
I didn’t like none of the shoots, they were kinda bland to me. Melina’s outfit was used a long time ago in a Raw show. And even though I love Katie’s look, she always does the same bland poses.
Maria to me, always looks like a poser. Trying to look like something she isn’t. The Bellas were cute, but those dresses are just trashy.
