Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley has written an indepth blog about the incident between Awesome Kong and Bubba the Hate Sponge which took place nearly two weeks ago. Interestingly, the blog was for TNA’s official website — I say interestingly, because it breaks the company’s kayfabe.
Here’s some excerpts:
* She probably should have handled the situation differently, and in retrospect, I think even Kia would admit that she may have let her emotions get the best of her. I happen to like both people involved – and, no, I’m not just saying that because Bubba is Hogan’s buddy. But I do think this situation illustrates how certain situations -tragedies, natural disasters – effect different people in such extremely different ways; how different people, or types of people are moved differently (or not at all) by certain situations.
* Like I wrote earlier, Kia may have let her emotions get the best of her. But I hope people –TNA management, Bubba himself – can understand why the situation was so emotional for her. I don’t want this situation to hurt anyone involved, Bubba included.
It’s a super long read but honestly, it’s worth reading every single word so click here to do so.
Foley, despite having friendships with both parties, stands firmly in the middle and I think points out extremely well how the situation was both of their fault. I particularly love the end of the blog where Foley discusses how he vehemently disagrees with Bubba’s position on Haiti, which to me is the most important factor.
This whole situation can make one lose sight of what’s truly important here and that’s the people of Haiti. Wrestlers 4 Haiti is still accepting your donations via PayPal so send your donation to Wrestlers4Haiti@gmail.com.

I love Mick Foley. :)
best said by mick foley. this sounds terribly obnoxious, but i never knew he was so articulate (ive never read his book). he seems like a really great guy. hopefully kong stays with tna
I always thought Mick foley was a stand-up guy!this proves so. :)
Just finished reading his blog post in full. I was very touched by what he said and he couldn’t have been more truthful. It’s so sad to think of people being that way. :(
I did read his first book and so I wasn’t surprised by his words. In Foley’s case, you can’t judge a book by its cover (pun intended).
I like Foley and he was extremely wise in his opinions. Its good to see that some of the “oldies” aren’t completely jerks.
I think it was what it was and Bubba should be grateful for the publicity. Kong is no doubt a top athlete by any standard but she is not perfect. In her situation, most of us would her probably done the same. I think TNA should give time and space to BOTH and in time, all will be forgotten. It is up to Bubba to let it die and if he doesn’t, then he is just as responsible!
Damn. Can you get anymore neutral?
