Reports circulating over the past few weeks suggest that former WWE Diva, Ashley Massaro could be heading to TNA in the near future. To clarify, we can confirm that Massaro has been telling friends she is heading to TNA after supposedly meeting with Dixie Carter.
However, given Massaro’s track record one shouldn’t be too quick to take her word as gospel. Massaro has previously made claims about a WWE return and a second Playboy cover shoot which as yet haven’t materialised. For what it’s worth, a source within the Playboy organisation who would know of such matters tells us that they haven’t heard anything about Massaro posing for the magazine again.
Not to say that it couldn’t happen but until it does, take it with a pinch of a salt.

If this is true, I’m really sad for the Knockouts future. Apparently after criticizing WWE to much, they’re doing the same terrible choices they once did. I mean, Ashley is just eye candy. She’s not a big deal of a wrestler.
I hope this is a lie, because I think TNA already as too many knockouts (and its already hard for them to use them all) and girls like Ashley would ruin even more the good reputation that TNA used to have.
Note: I’ve got nothing against Ashley, I just think she isn’t a good wrestler and her personality in the ring was just blah. Maybe she has been training in her absence from WWE, but I don’t know.

I never liked Ashley, one of the worst wrestlers ever in the Diva division. However, we can’t deny that she was very populair, and her look kinda fits in with the “TBP look”, so i wouldnt be surprised if it was true. I would hate if it’s true (it means even less airtime for Daffney, Hamada and Saritaylor), but from TNA’s pov it would actually make sense.

Ashley has already done the photoshoot for Playboy, they have their models do the shoots months in advance before the shoots are published. And Ashley was supposed to return but WWE cancelled on her because they had too many Divas in waiting.

And also Ashley has as much talent as the other Divas now a days. And she was very popular! TNA doesnt have that good of a reputation, so its sad to know she may go there. WWE is where the popular ones belong. TNA is for the nobodies like Brian Kendrick, Tara, Mr. Anderson, just to name a few. But I will say TNA has some good talent, just not much of a following. WWE has good talent, and a huge following. But seriously people pro wrestling is just acting, so talent isnt much to brag about. So quit insulting every Diva that isnt Trish Stratus!

I like TNA and I like WWE, but I have to say that TNA is not “for the nobodies”. It kills me whenever someone has an elitist comment against promotions/wrestlers that are trying to establish themselves or expand. These are very common but in a way they’re good because that means that TNA is getting more exposure whether people think them worthy of it or not. I hope they can grow to oneday become real competition for WWE so we can see the best of both brands. Still waiting to see that happen but I think that it can!

@mah, Yeah Tara is a GREAT wrestler. But her character has gotten stale. And remember Ashleys opponents? There is only so much you can do going up against Divas like Kristal, Jillian, rookie Layla, and rookie McCool. Plus, since she had a little bit of wrestling experience she didnt get to spend any time in OVW. Her training was the main roster, and thats respectable no matter what anyone says.

They are also the same people who think that Punk innovated the GTS, Kofi Kingston innovated the Ranhei-like move and Melina innovated the Last Call. And finally, they are the same kind of people who think that women as talented and world renowned as Cheerleader Melissa, Amazing Kong and Sarah Stock are NOBODIES.

And what was that, you said? “But seriously people pro-wrestling is just acting, so talent isnt much to brag about.” Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the ability to act considered a talent? And isn’t the acting of pro-wrestling a mixture of both the emotional aspect and the physical since it does not only help to sell stories but also keep things safer? And is it not a fact that ever since the beginning of pro-wrestling, ones talent to perform a physical maneuver (and to sell it) a considered a foundation that must not be negated because that is the very thing that separates it from other forms of entertainment?
But what do I know, right? I’m just someone who’d rather watch “nobodies” who can move well than girls who have no other contribution than to look pretty–a “talent” that doesn’t require as much hard work as in-ring acumen.

Also to WRESTLING WOMEN: Jillian was a beginner when she faced Ashley? lol. If you say so. Oh, but of course. When she was wrestling in independent promotions years before she joined the WWE, she was also, as you would say, “a nobody.” That explains it.
But please enlighten me… were Melina, Mickie James and Trish Stratus beginners as well? You do remember that those three talented women wrestled Ashley several times, right? And those matches were, well, not so pleasant considering that they were shown by the holier than thou WWE (you know… the company where all the “popular” ones are.) I’m sure you can remember those matches since they were not performed by “nobodies.”

And calling Mr.Kennedy a nobody is rather stupid. Yes he was released from the WWE, but he was as or more popular (as a face and as a heel) than Ashley, and he actually knows how to wrestle. The only big popularity Ashley had was on the now extinct lets get the girls naked matches…and because she was on Playboy and gave her phone number on national tv. But that is rather normal, after all most of the wwe audience are guys who really don’t give a damn about the wrestling quality of the fans. Why do you think Maria won the Diva of the year thing? It wasn’t because of her supreme talent in the ring for sure. Why does Kelly Kelly so popular? Because she used to get naked and is a pretty blond.
In fact I’m sure that if Divas with no reaction whatsoever returned to the lets get naked times, they would all be as popular as Ashley. But that is not wrestling. That is a strip show and Im happy things like that ended. Its degrading.

there was a point when i really liked Ashley and got it into my head she was amazing, but after taking off the rose colored glasses (is the saying covered or colored) and going back and viewing her matches i realized she was awful, she moved like a plank of wood, when she threw a punch there was no movement from her upper body most the time it looked so fake,
however she seemed to have a natural confidence during promos so she could become another member of the beautiful people, or a manager,
i think it would be interesting to see what she brings to the table,
it’s fairly obvious hogan or bishoff wants more Diva-ish woman, after all there were all those models being used in promos and as managers a few weeks back

To be honest I would give Sshey another shot. Yeah OK shes not the best of wrestlers, but she knows the basics, she knows how the wrestling world is.
Im probably gonna get bashed for this but look at Kelly now and Kelly 3 years ago..Given the benefit of the doubt maybe Ashey can imporve if she is given the chance to. I read that she was or is still under going training..so maybe she has already improved just because she doesnt really have the best of track records in WWE dont mean that she will be like this in TNA….

Hate messages? Just because a lot of people think she’s a bad wrestler? That’s not hate, that’s judging her work. No one is insulting her as a person. So there’s no hate.
It annoys me when people call others haters just because they don’t like how their favorite wrestlers work.
It would be hate messages if someone would say: oh she sucks because she’s blond and dumb, or if we started calling her names, something that most of us don’t do (at least I rarely do that, because I don’t comment about the personality of people I don’t know)
People are just commenting on her ring skills and her wrestling character, not Ashley herself.

@ana_nattie_rules: as a long term ashley fan, i always pay attention to what people say about her and i have read SO MUCH unecessary, vicious, personal stuff about her over the years. “trashley” is one of the nicer comments that some on this site have referred to her as in the past.
but anyway, whatever people say about her she was the most popular diva in the wwe throughout her entire run (behind mickie james and maria) (in my opinion). she always got a good crowd reaction. but yes, promos etc are her strong point, not wrestling

Personally I liked Ashley, I think she was a huge hit with the fans and could’ve made a real impact in the WWE Divas division if she had not left. So if she’s heading to TNA good for her! Maybe she’ll be Angelina’s tag team partner. They’re lacking in the tag team department and some new talent will fill that out.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she is telling the truth this time, seeing as shes the kind of wrestler TNA seem to be looking for these days.
I was never a fan of Ashley as a wrestler, i wasn’t much of a womans wrestling fan when she was around, but the matches i have seen of hers seems really sloppy, for example her wrestlemania match against the then heel Melina.
She had a good look though,which i guess is why she was so popular with the fans.,
I dont see where she would fit in, in TNA. They dont seem to know what to do with most of the knockouts they already have.
I expect she would probablly just get into a feud the TBP, which id find very boring as its nohing new.

ok i have been an Ashley fan since her debut with the the Diva search , i think she is awosme , and also to let u all know , she never wen to a training place like Fcw or Ovw , so she didnt have time to train , right after she won she was already wreslting , so really for her to get 2 WM matches , u have to think she isnt that bad , she had to learn wreslting moves quickly , so think about that. Also the fans loved her and her promos where awosme , so i think TNA grab wat WWE doesnt seem to want , becuase Ashley there wil bring all of her fans , so yeah but i already like Tna and Wwe but yeah. and wen people right bad stuff about her personally , everyone needs to stop jugding her on how she wresltes and think of her as a person. Ashley was always so full of energy. It looks like the direction of the Knockouts division is changing, so maybe she would fit in. It baffles me though why TNA let Alissa Flash leave (who was popular in TNA a really good wrestler – future KO champ I thought) & are trying to bring in Ashley [if she is telling the truth]

And I’ll say again that there’s no excuse for someone not improving their skills, especially if you have other people who started out the same way and have made progress. When you can’t even do the basic skills correctly (and no, I’m not talking about Ashley in particular) then you’re better suited for something else, ’nuff said. Those ridiculous breasts aside, if anything, Ashley had a good look. I’ve never hated her or her ilk, but I DO hate what they represent, which is a laziness on the part of the companies to rely on that old standy-by: sex. And for people who go on about/mention TNA only having old WWE talent, they obviously don’t watch the program.

I don’t have any problems with Ashley. I actually thought she was very good as a character in WWE. But come on, don’t you think we’re jumping the gun a little here? As its been pointed out, this doesn’t seem to be the only project Ashley’s buzzing about. There’s Playboy, an album, reality show, another season of Survivor, a return to WWE. See a theme here? I’m sure a few months from now TNA debut will be ranked right up there with those other last ditch attempts at staying relevant to the public.

Ashley had good charisma. No doubt about it. However, she lacked the ability to wrestle and make it look good. She was sloppy and botchy when it came to performing wrestling moves. I don’t believe that she’s been in talks with TNA. She claimed to be in talks with WWE. Still, I’ve yet to see the woman return to her old company. So, I don’t expect to see her appear on TNA. She claimed that she did Playboy. Playboy does testing photo-shoots. However, that doesn’t mean that she’ll be in the magazine. The models for each month are known ahead of time and I have yet to hear of Ashley Massaro being listed as Miss whatever month. She talks a good one. However, she wishes that TNA would hire her.
