Reports originated from ProWrestling.net suggest that TNA Knockout, Awesome Kong is currently serving a suspension following her altercation with Bubba the Love Sponge at the Impact tapings last month.
Jason Powell reports that Kong was suspended after she refused to compete on the company’s UK tour, which was part of the fallout of the Bubba situation. Kong is also said to be in a contractual dispute with TNA.
Meanwhile, TNA President showed no signs of dissension in the ranks with Kong as she playfully tweeted about the current Knockouts Tag Team Champion earlier this week. Dixie wrote: “I’ll admit a guilty pleasure… American Idol. Don’t laugh at me or my Idol buddy, Awesome Kong will take you out!”
Kong herself tweeted that she was taking guests to tomorrow’s TNA Against All Odds pay per view which could suggest that her suspension will be over by the time of the Impact tapings next week.

guess this is what hogan brings to the knockouts divison :/
well nobody should be suprised. it was only a matter of time that the knockouts division was going to be screwd. this reminds me of a time when a show was moving to monday and competed with wwe for ratings. runned by hogan and eric( what ever is last name is). and no real womens division. if i could only rember. oh wait yeah wcw. sadly i think the divsion will be gone by the end f the year. maybe traci, awesome kong, and angelina will go to wwe. and tara could take her ass back to wwe. i would love to see what wwe will do with them. kong could feud with beth over who is more dominant. traci competes for the divas title. angelina makes a reject beautiful people with maryse. and tara competes for the womens title. other girls could go to shimmer. or wrestlicious. oh yeah roxxi defanintly needs to go to wwe. if wwe stops the pg bullshit. and release the bellas.
So they Deny her release but suspend her ?. Wow Keeping a women in the company against her own will. Isnt that Illegal….Sad

why is everyone overeacting:|. sure what bubba said was bad but she hit him no wonder she got suspended she hit the guy^o)! and weve still been getting a match every week and people are ranting on and saying that theres going to be no womens division by the end of the year is bullshit! Hogan doesnt have full charge now if you remember dixie carter still makes decisions above hogan?!
At least she wasn’t fired. This is what usually happens in this cases.
unfortunately, it serves her right. this incident as well as the one reported around bound for glory time with her beating on some stranger who dissed her boyfriend, kong needs to calm down. especially as she is involved in charity work (setting up her own foundation, etc.). you’re only as successful as your reputation in this business.
if memory serves me right, roxxi and rhaka khan were suspended for 60 days for their backstage altercation, right? going by that, i don’t see kong being involed in the next tapings.
The suspension is actually very normal (and acceptable). She DID hit a co-worker, and if Roxxi, Rhaka Khan and Kevin Nash, and several others were suspended for much lesser things, then it’s only right to suspend her for 30 days. If she would get away with it, you will get chaos.
The only thing which isnt right is TNA refusing to release her. There is no immediate danger she will go to WWE, and they havent really used her properly since 2009, so releasing her wouldnt matter. And when other wrestlers asked for their release in the past they were given it, so why not her?
goodnightddtmnm, if she really wanted to leave, she could. she’d just likely be sued for breaking her contract. they’re not exactly holding her hostage.
To be fair, they clearly see value in her. She requested her release but it wasn’t granted. I guess they consider her a far too valuable commodity for the Knockouts Division.
Reports are also saying that people in TNA have apparently talked Kong into staying with TNA so thats good news
But they’re not holding her against her will, if she really wants to leave, she can once her contract expires
I don’t see this suspension as big news. In fact, I wouldn’t even be surprised if they suspended her WITH pay. TNA’s image is hurt more if they release her, because it will come off as them choosing Bubba (and his comments) over Kong. Plus they’re worried Vince would sign her immediately.
Well she did deserve it. I just hope they don’t make this into a storyline.
Personally, If I was Awesome Kong, I would wait for my contract to expire and move to somewhere that will treat me better.
WWE have said to have been interested in Kong, after they’ve seen her in ring work, but that was months ago, and also they said that they don’t care that she doesn’t look like your typical Diva. So this would work- WWE are interested, pay better money than TNA and will allow Kong to do as she wants (as I’ve read here on Diva Dirt about the booking styles; the Divas do their matches freely and not as strongly scripted as TNA) . So it’s a win-win situation.
Or, Kong could return to the Indys.
Im surprised that Kong didn’t just get out of there and say “F it”. After Bubba’s crude remarks about Haiti, I would have gotten affended too.
But, instead of Kong quiting, I think Kong should make them sweat and beg. The Woman’s Division is practically nothing without Kong. She built and created this division with Gail, ODB, and Angelina (Well they weren’t the first ones but you know what I mean). They may not fight for one Knockout but it’s worth a shot!
