The speaker does not in fact take the road "less traveled by" (he only intends to tell people he did) because he notes that both paths are "worn about the same." It is about making choices and how life is constantly moving on from one of those choices to the next, but nothing to do with risks and the way Mickie has it quoted does not really represent the reality of the poem. I am aware it is not about expressing how cool you are or about how your life choices have been unique because you "took the road less traveled by," but I'm not sure Mickie is. Maybe you should let her know. I also don't really care if she wrote any of the songs as long as she can sing well. From the little I've heard, though, she can't. That does not mean she won't have a hit on her hands. Computers are marvelous things. “The Road Not Taken” is not at all about taking risks.
