This week, we have two former WWE Divas going at it. They’ve had some memorable matches in WWE including a street fight on SmackDown but this match in Puerto Rican promotion International Wrestling Association perhaps raises the bar on anything they’ve done in WWE. Ironically, the match took place in December 1999 while both were still under contract to WWE in a time where the stars apparently got to book outside gigs here and there. Watch a preview below:
The match took place around the time Tori played Kane’s girlfriend on WWE television and we kick off with some teasing from Ivory on the microphone before Tori takes charge. After some fault starts with Ivory trying to high-tail it, there’s a great brawl on the outside of the ring with each Diva showing their intensity. A great match that shows just why Ivory is a celebrated Women’s Champion — her ring work and the way she plays off the crowd [even in a foreign country] is great.

IWA was a developmental territory for the WWE in the late 90′s.
Hey Melanie i think you are a wrong about the street fight thing unless i missed a SD episode back in 99
Ivory and Tori had a streetfight on RAW it was the first woman’s hardcore match in WWE
You are right, it was on RAW, not Smackdown. Just watched the match on tube. Kinda an insult to hardcore wrestling, it was just an excuse to see Tori walk around in her underwear for 5 minutes ;-)
Tori for me, was always underrated, I don’t know whether its because she was always on someones arm but she was a really talented wrestler and she was in some quite high profiled stuff, yet very few people mention her. I enjoyed these days of Diva matches where you had stuff going on with Jacqueline and Ivory before they were booted down a level later in their WWE careers.
I agree with Looking Glass. I started watching RAW in March of 1999, and saw her match at WM against Sable. Tori was always one of my favorites. I hate that she ended up at X-Pac’s arm candy. Her and Ivory had a great feud.
I’m surprised the WWE never did more with Tori. She was pretty big in the women’s scene, when she was Terri Power. Then again, they pretty much ignored Ivory’s past too.
Jennifer & Looking Glass: I share your sentiments. Her work with Sable, Ivory and PMS was awesome. Then with Kane and DX she took a backseat to let other divas come up, which is shame because I thought she had more to offer by then. I wonder where her final feud with Molly would have gone had she stuck around. Sigh, now I’m sad haha.
