Six Divas locked up in the elimination chamber? Pigs would fly sooner, right? But that hasn’t stop SmackDown Diva Layla from expressing her desire to see the Divas lock up in the lethal cage match. Layla told NZPWI:
* Yes, I definitely think we should see the Divas in an elimination [chamber] match and I know there are plenty of the Divas that’d love to do it.
* And maybe one day we will get the Divas out there. I would love to do it. I would do it in a heartbeat.

Layla also comments on the changing roles of the Divas, saying that they push to compete in more physical matches like the men:
So you think it would be likely in the future if all the Divas got together and went to creative and said “hey, look! We think we could really make a go of it“? Do you think it’s likely?
I think, the Divas pushing that to creative and telling them we want to make a go of it, I think it’s happening already, I think there’s plenty of girls that wanna go out there and do it, whether it’s gonna happen… I don’t know. But fingers crossed, maybe one day there’ll be just that, y’know?
And in perhaps a trifecta, Layla is asked about women being in power in WWE and TNA and how that affects women’s wrestling:
Well hopefully I think it will have a great and positive experience because a woman with power is also going to understand another woman who’s working and wanting to attain that same kind of credibility, that same kind of power, so hopefully it’ll be a positive thing. But also I know, as a woman in power or any kind of woman who’s in charge, they’re going to be harder on the women, because that’s just – naturally we relate to women a lot more easier than, sometimes a man does so I think it’s going to be great, of course! Women can do the same things as men can do, I believe in that a hundred percent. I know society has changed where, y’know, equal rights and stuff like that but sometimes I feel like it’s not right there. We do live sometimes in more of a dominated male world but I think eventually women are going to get better and better and I think women’s wrestling as well. We’re hoping to be taken a lot more seriously in the future.
Really a great interview with lots of topics covered, I have just selected a few to post but Layla also talks about Twitter and the closure of ECW. I think if the right women were picked, a female elimantion chamber would be awsome.
I would pick Michelle McCool, Natalya, Mickie James, Beth Pheonix, Melina, and Gail Kim.

Is it even possible to have a 3 minute Diva EC match? I guess they could have the fist 2 Divas fight for 30 seconds and release the 4 other Divas out of their pods every 30 seconds. That give them a whopping 30 extra seconds to fill. :D
I think id want these 6 in an Elim Chamber Match: Mickie James, Beth Pheonix, Natalya, Katie Lea, Jillian and Gail Kim.
the 6 people I would want in the chamber match would be Gail, Jillian, Melina, Alicia, AJ Lee, Serena, and Mickie
I don’t think Layla will EVER be a champion, not even a 5-minute champion like Jillian. She’s just not championship material IMO
As for a divas elmination chamber, I’m sure everyone who wrestlers in WWE would love to be in a chamber match or a ladder match, or a steel cage etc but it’s obvious the WWE has a vision for the divas and I don’t think that will ever change

a lot of the divas seem more wiling to get more extreme now, although maybe spending time at ECW left an effect of layla
I agree with Layla, i would love to see a Diva EC match, why should the divas have to sit out all the time and let all the men have the fun( Does WWE even remember the Attuide era, esp 2000 to 2004?). Plus if TNA are going to move to monday nights (monday night wars 21st century style) WWE are going to have to step up their game in all areas , including the divas.
But if the Divas were to have a EC Match , the right Divas would have to in the match or it would just be a fluke. If i was one off the writer’s i would have it as the Divas version of the Royal Rumble , have Divas from Raw and Smackdown compete in matchs to get in to the EC(3 from raw and 3 from SD). Who ever wins the match gets to pick who they wanna face at Wrestlemaina for the championship of there brand. The Divas i would pick are – From Raw would be Melina, Gail Kim and Maryse and from Smackdown would be Mickie James , Beth Pheonix and Natalya.
But if u drop that storyline, then i would have Mickie, Beth , Melina , Gail , Natalya and Michelle.
What a nice interview from Layla, I don’t recall many from her, but this was a nice on indeed. Most interviews sound scripted but I have a feeling Layla was speaking from the heart in this one. Nice read, very nice… =)
I would love to Gave A Divas EC Match! Mickie,Melina,Beth,Natalya,Gail Kim & Jillian or Katie Lea. For The Womens Champion ship! The only Divas that i would even want to see in a EC Match is Mickie Beth , Melina,Natalya,Alicia,Layla,Katie Lea,Jillian & Gail Kim and Michelle Mccool! 6 of any of those divas i woudnt mind seeing them throw down for the womens champion not the divas
I would love a Diva EC as well. I think the best time to do it though would’ve been at the peek of the Women’s Division as I can’t see them doing it now. If they did do it now though i would like to see Michelle, Beth, Mickie, Melina, Natalya, Katie in it. I like some of the other divas more than the one I mentioned but i feel this is a strong group to put in there.
Go Layla! I’ve always been a big advocate of the women doing the same gimmick matches as the men. Beth’s been the main factor in two types we hadn’t seen before, an I Quit match and a Two Out of Three Falls match. Both times the crowd and the women were into it, giving it their all. They could easily do an EC match.
My six would be Mickie James, McCool, Natalya, Beth Phoenix, Melina & Gail Kim (to balance faces & heels). But I’d also think Katie Lea, Jillian, Serena and Layla could perform as well in the chamber. Layla comes across here as an incredibly smart, savvy woman. The higher up’s should realize what a talent they have in her, especially if her ring work continues to improve.

Note to Layla, at the end of the interview, she said that she wants to become the first Diva Search contestant & Britsh Woman to hold a title in WWE. But Candice Michelle actually became the first Diva Search contestant to hold the Women’s title!

I know these divas may not be the most experienced but it’s a great selection for getting the fans into it. Plus, most of these divas will still be here in 5 years, so it would skyrocket their popularity and help them get to main-event diva status, no point in putting the oldies in their even though their careers are nearly over. There aren’t many good face choices so I just put Beth as a face to sorta even it out. Maryse would just be a classic waiting in the pod, I could just imagine her sitting down, getting bored. Well there are my picks, the ones I believe should be in their if it EVER happens, and I use the term loosely.
That was a cool interview. Layla’s a cool girl and that Elimination Chamber idea gawwd we gota get that! That would be ace! :D
I love Layla, and despite the fact WWE only seems to see her as a sidekick, I could totally see her as a champion one day. If there were a divas elimination chamber, my picks would be:

A Divas Elimination Chamber? That would’ve been good when it first was used- we could’ve had:
Trish vs. Lita vs. Victoria vs. Molly vs. Gail vs. Jazz
but nowadays, WWE would most likely keep with kayfabe, and therefore put in Divas like Kelly, and Maryse, when they really should make it:
Mickie vs. Beth vs. Natalya vs. Katie Lea vs. Jillian vs. Gail

I agree with Layla in so many things. It would be awesome to see good female performers in more dangerous and complicated matches, instead of the regular singles and tag teams matches.

I agree with layla I would love to see that and she’s right about the twitt comments like yesterday morning that was hilarious who ever twitted that to Layla had alot of nerve calling layla the N word.
Layla truly has spoken out for the divas. i love her thoughts and what she thinks should happen with the division. it seems the divas are really fighting for a change in the division. first i hear kelly saying she wants to do more and then layla. a divas elimination chamber match would be awesome. Layla had totally made my day. sd! divas has been doing good and well. but raw has really made the division suck. atleast sd! has a storyline (although confusing at times). And Layla i could see as divas champion. she would make a good heel or face champ. as a heel she would be like melina when melina first got the title and some what cheated to get it and keep it. as a face she would be like michelle mccool when she won the divas title. oh and btw my EC match are gail kim, melina, mickie james, beth phoenix, natalya and michelle for the not so experienced girls i would pick savannah, kelly, eve, alicia, serena and maryse. ( if some girls couldn’t make it to the match i would pick layla, katie lea and jillian).
With the right ones, you could have a great women’s EC match. For me, it would be Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Mickie James, Michelle McCool, Gail Kim and probably Alicia Fox, filling in for the injured Melina. Katie Lea Burchill and Jillian Hall are good in-ring performers, but they only seem to get used as jobbers. Knowing WWE, they’d put Maryse, Kelly Kelly, Tiffany and the Bella Twins in with Beth Phoenix, with Beth the last one to enter, and have her squash everyone.
