Tonight, we crown a new Divas Champion after the title has been vacated for the past two months. Who will it be? Gail Kim or Maryse? The Diva Dirt writers weigh in:
Cryssi: Last time we did this, I sat there and listed all the reasons why I thought Maryse would win, and then picked Gail Kim. I still believe in everything I said, so I stand by my prediction of Gail Kim winning. Someone’s got to against the popular vote so it may as well be me! Go Gail go!
Erin: The WWE doesn’t seem to care enough to make this “feud” interesting or unpredictable, so it seems silly to think about this match in too much detail–why should we care about this when the WWE clearly doesn’t. It’s been elementary from the very beginning that this is Maryse‘s tournament. She’s going to win the Divas Championship, as has been predicted from the get-go. What’s not certain is where they’ll go with it from there. I’m just hoping Maryse will actually do a bit of wrestling rather than sneak out the win.. At least then, this tournament might feel somewhat worth the effort.
Melanie: It’s pretty obvious, right? I don’t see WWE caring enough to swerve us and have Gail win. WWE loves Maryse and this whole tournament has revolved around her in some way or another. People already think she’s the champion so why not just make it official? Totally unsurprisingly, I think Maryse takes it.
Steven: Since the first match of this Divas Title tournament, WWE has put a spotlight on Maryse and it hasn’t dimmed since. In fact, I’d wager that as you read this WWE is busy engraving her name on the butterfly belt. As much as I’d love for Gail to win the title and get the recognition she deserves, it ain’t happening tonight. Expect Maryse to leave the Elimintion Chamber PPV as our new Divas Champion.

well anyway, gail definitely deserves the title but there is no way in hell she is winning tonight. i bet my first child that maryse will win tonight, probably with a rollup or by cheating.
it’s so sad what the RAW divas division has become… 3 weeks in a row where there has been not enough material for the divadirt team to make post RAW audio shows… ugh.
All signs point to Maryse winning. But the WWE has fooled the IWC many times before. Gail did get a very impressive winning streak which is already at 18 i think. That can mean either of 2 things: a. they are making Gail look strong to give more value to Maryse’s victory, or b. WWE was rebuilding Gail as a ‘credible’ champion after a very bad 2009 for her. I pick Gail as winner (although i really should know better after all disappointments by WWE in 2009).

Yeah it will be maryse and you can bank on that. I expect Maryse to target Gail’s arm and that will eventually cost Gail IMO. I can definitely see Gail’s arm hiting the ring post and then Maryse connecting her DDT for the win

TBH i dont know whos gonna win i would say the usual MARYSE but that whole nice girl roll shes been playing lately is kinda wierd.
What if they had the MARYSE vs GAIL match and BETH interfered and glamslamed both of them and then that leads up to this 5 DIVA thing at WRESTLEMANIA with MICHELLE,GAIL,MARYSE,MICKIE, and BETH to determine the UNIFIED WOMENS CHAMP? ;)

Oh my gosh I wonder who is gonna win……YAWN! I knew from the start of the tournment. Mayrse is gonna win , this is the most predictable Divas Match in a while.
We all know WWE loves Maryse! Whats the point on getting our hopes up , but that dosent been i wont be cheering G-Kim ON!
As much as I wish Gail would be the one to walk away with the title, we all know it’s going to be Maryse. The WWE has been setting her up to get the title from the moment she got back.
I’m not going to lie, though, I’ll be overjoyed if I’m wrong!
Maryse will most likely win, there’s about 99.9% chance of that happening. However, I’d love to see Maryse do her “get out of my face” taunt thing at the end of a series of reversals or something and then out of nowhere, Gail grabs her arm, shoves her foot into her face and hits Eat Defeat. I’m gunning for the 00.1% of Gail winning. Anything is possible, so come on Gail!
I predict Melina will make a surprise return, turning it into a triple treat match and win her title back. Let’s face it, the WWE has delayed the crowning of a new Divas champion long enough for Melina to fully recover.
i’m so glad that this tournament will be over tonight. i’m so bored by the raw divas lately i really don’t care who wins. and that really sucks. i’ve actually built this match up to be nothing more than a two minute offensive flurry by gail with maryse performing one maybe if we’re lucky two moves. i’ve purposely lowered my expectations for this match. please surprise me, wwe.

Everyone is predicting Maryse will win, it’s pretty pedictable. But….., Everyone is suspecting Maryse will win. Like I said the last time weeks ago, WWE is not that smart but then again not that dumb. They’ll most likely make Gail come out on top because most people are counting on Maryse to win the match because of the huge push she’s gotten since her return. They probably make Gail win to make all the other people that thought otherwise feel stupid. Then again, all of us are not psychics!
