The scheduled Divas Championship match between Gail Kim and Maryse tonight was ‘postponed’ by SmackDown consultant, Vickie Guerrero. Guerrero changed the match to an interpromotional tag team match with the two rivals facing Michelle McCool and Layla as a result of Maryse’s ‘disparaging comments’ against the SmackDown Divas in recent weeks.
Maryse showed her true colours, not tagging in and allowing Gail to be beaten by Lay-Cool. Afterwards, Maryse hit her French Kiss DDT on an already fallen Kim.
The Divas Championship tournament continues…

to me i really am gonna declare gail kim the winner because they are only making gail look much much weaker then maryse at this point and they really havent build up on gail’s character and its obvious that she is just there to take melina’s spot until she comes back so this is acutally ok with me its been too long to crown a champion but hey it just might be worth the wait

I feel so bad for Gail Kim. Srsly she’s having to play a moronic role in a moronic feud and just get second fiddle every segment only to sacrifice Maryse in the fact that she can only do like 4 moves >_> I’m not meaning to insult Maryse to her fans, but if shes so restricted in her wrestling, why push her in the first place?
I’m more like the divas title is gonna be a Diva tag team champ..

Even though i wanted to see a title match and get this whole tournament finished with, I’m not too upset with the “twist”. That is, if the title match is set for wrestlemaina and that the weeks leading up to it are better than the weeks which lead up to this PPV.
Alot of people are hoping for the match on raw, but im not, if its tomorrow then it will be a 2 second match which maryse will win because Gail just got her ass kicked the night before.
As for the twist, i dont think it was a last minute thought, which i did orginally think. I was always wondering why Maryse kept mentioning the smackdown divas for the past couple of weeks. Now i know why.
Looks like I was right. As I stated in another thread here, the WWE is going to stall this Diva tourney until Melina is ready for a surprise return to reclaim her title in a triple threat match between Gail and Maryse.
Okay I wasn’t expecting much from this match to be honest but you have to be f’n kidding me to change this to a tag team match that was basically pointless. I’m sick of seeing McCool in the spotlot to the point where I have to turn my tv off. Its sickening to be honest! The only thing that impressed me was that Maryse got booed at the end and Gail did a great promo before the match. I’m honestly hesitant to order another wwe ppv to yet again waste my hard earned money…
vickie should just crown herself the divas champion seeing how much power she apparently has.

While i think post-poning the Match was wrong, It looks like they ae lookinf to build up a feud between Maryse & Gail at Wrestlemania, So i will rathe have a built up feud than a Match that has had no built up to the PPV. So this might be a good thing.
Since when does Vickie have power over the Raw divas title, she’s on smackdown. i think they’re gonna stall the finals until wrestlemania and have a divas tag team match.

hey did anyone know the divas were featured on the wwe.com 3count ? i dont remember the last time a divas match was on there & not only that but its the 1st story ! i think they’re tryna hype up the belt, because they’re making it seem like the divas keep fighting to try & get it …. i don’t mind they had vickie do this. more heat for her & the girls !
Everybody’s pissed off because it didn’t turn out to be the results you were all so sure to happen. A few hours ago everyone was pissed off saying that Maryse would win the title, and WWE is so predictable, and here are the results.
If they had the match, you would all be saying: I knew it, Maryse won. What a waste of time, what a predictable result. How boring.
They changed it to something you wouldn’t expect in a million years time, and you people keep bashing and bashing.

I agree Litafan2000 I am blown about this shit I just paid 44 dollars for….but I agree I’d rather see this match at wrestlemania instead of Raw…..I hope Mickie James doesn’t lose her belt Friday because I swear I cannot sit through another show seeing McDrool as champion.
Melina is no longer divas champion, even if she comes back early she’s still not the champion. The title is vacated which means she had to give it up

this is complete and utter bullcrap…..as much as I like melina, if all they’re doing is postponing the crowning of a new champion until she returns and takes the title, then watching raw has been a complete waste of time. Maryse is a lackluster wrestler and before Melina was put on the shelf, she was becoming a huge botchmonster. Gail should be champion. But i guess this IS wwe. The talented never get wat they deserve.

I think this new development is very good for whoever is going to win the title. It makes winning it much more meaningful than the very lame tournament we had. And instead of “just a tournament finale” its turning into a real feud.
Usually the face always wins in the end, so who knows, maybe Gail’s chances to win are much higher now. It doesn’t really make sense to let Gail loose after everything that happened. Although you never know with WWE.
I can understand why people would be dissapointed but I actually don’t mind. This match has had poor build-up from day one. So, if the WWE is actually working to make this a legitimate feud, then I won’t be so upset. It looks like they’re trying to give people a reason to cheer Gail and boo Maryse, which is a step in the right direction.

well, gail was the queen at TNA, she left to go back to WWE, i hope as hell she got paid very very much for going back, because they sure are screwing up her wrestling career!! just my opinion…lol why do people even bother watching these pay per views? the storylines for both men and women suck, the wrestlers suck, and it isnt even worth watching on real tv!! and yes i do dump TNA into that mix so dont hate for me attacking WWE, i hate TNA tooo..lol
Something tells me that the two main diva related feuds are going to be fused with the Vickie issue in the center. I don’t know… like there’s gonna be an army of pro and anti-Vickies or something. Nothing new of course… I won’t be that impressed. Anyway…the match was such a let down considering the fact that they should’ve built this one weeks ago instead of letting it go a little stale and then reviving it. It merely makes the Divas Division look like a filler. Lame. :)

Well, maybe we will get a small Smackdown vs Raw feud with the Divas and maybe they’ll be able to build up tension between Gail and Maryse during it. So then it can actually be called a feud.
wrestlemania is 5-6 weeks away and I can’t wait that long, I’ll seriously die. I’m actually happy the match wasn’t tonight because now it gives Gail a chance of actually winning the title but the thought of waiting even longer is just way to painiful, I WANT A NEW DIVA CHAMPION ALREADY
This is a good situation IMO. They are actually pushing a fued between the two…or 4…or 5…or whatever. But with gail as the only face….this could actually mean they are legitimately pushing Gail as an underdog who will eventually win the title, which is great! Finally, they are building some heat…and although they could have done this on raw or something of the sort…I still didn’t mind it. Do you know how easily WWE could have just had maryse win and have her have mini title challenges with kelly or eve or the bellas until melina came back? That would have been lame.

Although RAW sucks nowadays, there are plenty of good storylines (Shawn Michaels becoming obsessed, the Batista/Cena feud is going somewhere, Miz/Showmiz/Mvp going somewhere, well-build legacy breakup) etc. And when it comes to wrestling, you still see good matches on regular basis on Smackdown and the ppvs. On this ppv you had 2 good elimination matches and the Miz/mvp match was good too. So only the kane/drew match and the diva match sucked. Thats 15 minutes of crappy wrestling out of a 3 hour ppv. If NONE of that interests you, then i suggest you stop watching wrestling completely.

I’ll judge this move depending on how Raw goes. There’s no use speculating any more because WWE either goes the painfully obvious route or throws a fastball. That’s the only moves in their story writing arsenal. I mean, I understand the need to keep fans on their feet but when you do a suprise like this EVERY PPV, it loses its value.

Now everyone, while this move by creative is annoying it is a good idea. Gail Kim and Maryse had no build up to this match whatsoever, this is called story line progression and in my eyes I see this as a great opportunity for the Divas leading up to Wrestlemania! If we don’t see a championship match till then all good, as long as they have a decent storyline building towards it!
Speaking on my behalf, I’m not as mad at the fact Maryse didn’t win, as much as the fact they found yet another way to get around the fact she can not work a match by changing it to a tag where she didn’t do anything >_>
well at least now hopefully we’ll get some sort of build up to this match
