TNA Knockout, Awesome Kong has filed a lawsuit against Bubba the Love Sponge and cell carrier AT&T after receiving a threatening phone call from an unidentified number. Courthouse News Service reports:
Stevens claims Clem called her at her Tampa home from a blocked number at 5 a.m. on Feb. 10. She says the caller said, “‘This is Bubba the Love Sponge here at (and at this point the caller named a radio station’ and then alluded to the fact that the call was being broadcast on the radio. “The caller then started talking in a stream, threatening to come to the petitioner’s house and ‘sucker punch’ her until she stopped breathing and then said, ‘You’ll be dead like all those other niggers in Haiti you fat black bitch … Fuck Haiti!”
Stevens claims that when she did not respond, “the male who had identified himself as ‘Bubba the Love Sponge’ stated ‘What d’ya think about that, Monkey Kong?’ … ‘What? Those big fat Jimmy Walker lips ain’t talking shit now, huh?’”
Kong is also going after AT&T after they refused to provide her the number when requested. To read the full details click here.
If true, it’s such a shame that after the whole unfortunate incident was dead and buried, Bubba tries to go after her again some weeks later. The act of a coward is making a threatening phone call with a witheld number. It’s all well and good to hide behind a phone, but I doubt he’d ever have the balls to say that to Kong in person.
His disgusting comments above are just proof of what a lowlife he is and I hope Kong gets justice for not only her but millions of African-Americans who will no doubt be offended by these heinous comments. It’s mind blowing to think racism still exists in 2010.

Oh my god! kong needs some serious justice for this!
this guy is a waist of oxygen and Kong could kick his ass anyway
There might be a chance that its a guy pretending to be Bubba or even a friend of him. Does anyone knows if this called was broadcasted?
Anyways, the company had the obligation to give Kong the number. After all she has threatened and insulted and even though I think its just some loser trying to act mean, imagine the guy was really a Anti-Kong dude? What if that guy really wants to hurt her? I know this seems dramatic, but a lot of unexpected crimes happen like this.
So, the safety of Kong should be more important than the anonymity of this loser.
I’m against anonymous calls. A lot of coward people used them to threat, bully and harass others. People might think they have the right to privacy, but not when their “privacy” does harm to others.
frankly I think this was just a stupid joke made by some idiot pretending to be Bubba, or at least I hope Bubba is not so stupid to do such a thing. He’s been punched already, does he really want more?
People might look at this and say “Meh, not that serious. Just some guy talking over a phone.” BUT it is pretty serious when you are a public figure like Kong. The public has access to her anytime she goes out there and wrestles. Anything can happen at a show. And let’s not forget that this is wrestling and some people still believe that it’s real and would try to harm any wrestlers they don’t like if they had gotten the chance.
oh, wow. i would love to believe bubba is smarter than that and it is one of his, ahem, “army” being an asshole (i’m pretty sure being an asshole is part of the bubba army criteria ;)), but bubba’s previous record doesn’t show him in too smart a light.
good luck to kong (and safety!) whatever happens.
AT & T (and any phone company) won’t give out the number unless the police are involved. Think about it, you block your number for a reason & it isn’t always because of a tool like this making nasty calls., there are legitimate uses for the service. What is the point of having a blocking service if someone can just call up & demand the number?

That’s why you get the authorities involved. What are you going to do with the number? Call back & escalate the situation?
Anyway I hope whoever it was gets into trouble, whether it was Bubba or someone pretending to be him.
Shanti, I’d worry more about the Bubba Army than I would about wrestling fans. There are some real crazies in that group.
if it was some random person, how did he get her number?
did yall ever think about that?
and kong, im more than sure, knoes what his voice sounds
like, so she wouldn’t file a lawsuit unless she knew it was
him she was fileing it on.
duhh
(:
Man, if this is true, TNA’s going to be a very, very interesting place to be…
It’s actually pretty easy to get someone’s phone number if you wanted it bad enough.
0___0 If it was Bubba or not he (and the guy who ‘claimed’ he was Bubba in that phone call) should both go to hell! >=( How can you talk trash about thousands of people who are losing their lives in poor Haiti? It’s pure sickness, anyone who talks trash about this sort of thing DESERVES to go to hell IMO. >=(
KONG’S GONNA KILL YOU! >=D KONG’S GONNA KILL YOU! >=D
Isn’t there any public page of that Buba dude so we can give him a peace of our mind? Not that it would help by any sort but I feel trully repulsed after reading this. It’s amazing how there’s still people like that in the world, and ADULTS for god’s sake.
Words sometimes are more harmful then anything. And that guy (whoever that asshole racist is) should really be punished.
“Paul Opdyke: In case y’all don’t know Bubba’s Twitter account has been hacked. DO NOT respond to BTLSRadio until further notice. The hacker is running a scam that will tack charges on to your cell bill.”

Took this from facebook.
…Sorry to post now 3 times in a row, but there’s also a lof of “F Haiti” comments in the group by fans also.
Wow. So much hate in the world. So very, very much. These kinds of things are not to be taken lightly. Sometimes words are not just words; sometimes they become actions and there is a infinite amount of examples being made at this very moment. And it always has to come back to that old standby: race baiting. So sad, not just for the incident itself but for the implication. Here we go again. :(
Well, if this is true, Kong should 100% press charges. Regardless of her size, those threats should not be made against a woman, or an african american.
and if this is true, it just further proves how big of a piece of shit Bubba is, and why Dixie should not want to be associated with this walking douche bag. Honestly he should probably be thrown off the air like anyone else would be for making those comments.
Bubba, you got your ass kicked by a woman, and deserved it, get over it bro!!!
I’m interested to see how this plays out….
thats seriously fucked up man. Whatever, Kong can just beat his ass like she did last :D
Hopefully Kong gets justice soon.. Its such a shame to know how many crazy people are in this world today.
I think it was someone pretending to be Bubba…..if not, well then that’s just stupid to be honest. It makes a public figure like Bubba look like even more of a dumbass.Either way,I hope Kong gets justice!
Anyone who needs to use an anonymous number to threaten someone is pathetic–a few inches away from being some 10 year old behind a computer condemning someone to hell for misspelling a finishing move. ;)
And if it was Bubba who made the call, then he has stepped on a new low–like from absolute parking lot trash to nothing. What’s the matter? Can’t he make it any further on life? ;) Such a shame.
As much as I love Kong and support her and wish she would beat Bubba’s ass to a pulp for his comments. I have to say good luck with the suit of ATT. I actually worked as a manager for an ATT call center for over 2 years and know that BY LAW, they are not allowed to release the details of a call to anyone even the account holder. This is due to a federal law about releasing identifying information and call details. The only way they would be able to give her that info is if a judge or officer contacted the companies legal department and would have to be able to provide a legal warrant approved by a jury. This would release the company from any liability for identity theft. The reason this is even a law is that a rep of Kong or friend with her account info could easily pose as her and call the company claiming to be her and then have access to who she calls, who calls her and all her personal details. Gotta love privacy acts. Not trying to be a smart ass and like I said I hope she does win the case since that company sucks balls, but I do know those laws since I had to obey them.
