As the shocking release of Maria begins to set in, some of her co-workers have taken to Twitter to well-wish the now former Diva. Check out a few of the tweets below:
Fellow SmackDown Diva, Layla writes: “Here’s to your great future. I can’t wait to see all your success! I’m sad I will miss all our times to together. Our friendship will always be. Love ya!”
Maria’s recent on-screen love interest, Matt Hardy tweeted: “Also, best of luck to @MariaLKanellis – a really cool & fun to be around lady! I’ll miss ya at work MK!”
WWE NXT ring announcer, Savannah wrote: “I’m sorry to hear about the news. I have no doubt though that you will be amazing at anything you wanna do. You will be missed for sure!”
Celebrity WWE fan and former Raw guest host, Maria Menounos responded to Maria’s farewell message with: “Great attitude.”
Kanellis is due to appear on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice in just two weeks time. The show premieres on Sunday, March 14th at 9pm.
EDIT: Comments from WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross: “I’m surprised and sad to see her go without having the opportunity to say good bye. She’s a wonderful, young woman who will undoubtedly land on her feet. She was fun to be around.”

finally she’s gone.
i was never a fan of maria, i didn’t like or dislike her. i always thought she was competent in the ring (unlike ashley massaro) and her red hair stood out to me. she’s a cute girl, i hope this isn’t the last we’ll see of her.
I am going to make a good guess and say that Maria will end up in TNA, since some of her good friends are Victoria aka Tara and Christy (who was in the same diva search as Maria)
you know, i wouldn’t be totally against that, inferno, but i’d rather not see her actively wrestling over there. i’d be okay with her in a permanent valet role or backstage interviewer, but it looks like christy and val have all potential maria bases covered between them.
Like I said b4 , I was shocked 2 see her go but not sad! It is sad that she got released but she didnt really do anything for the womens divison at all. So there is not lost here now if they were to release Alicia , Layla ,or Eve. I would raise all kinds of Hell Lmao! Release Kelly kelly & The Bellas! So the Womens Division kan be at peace and some what get better

I really don’t understand the new fascination with Eve. She botches a lot and doesn’t know the basics. Sure, KK isn’t a great wrestler, but she’s popular. And the Bellas aren’t that bad. See their match on superstars or Nikkis match against Maryse.
I just checked WWE.com, and Maria’s page is still up and running on Smackdown and the Divas page.
I checked Gregory Helms & Paul Burchill, they aren’t on rosters anymore. Don’t you think they would of taken it down by now. I have a feeling something’s up
They wouldn’t invent something like this. Probably they still have her page to promote the Celebrity Apprentice. There’s a high chance that WWE has a deal with the show.

I understand where you’re coming from. But, I doubt you’ve seen her SD! matches because she was great on there (probably because it can be edited). Since coming to RAW, it seems like she’s lost her ability, giving us the greatest diva botch in years.
That’s what I hate about WWE, Melina and Eve were highly involved in SD!, Melina with McCool and Eve with Cryme Tyme and then they just take it all away because they saw that greatness and want them on the A show, and all current storylines go to waste. There’s one thing I liked about the Nancy O Dell trade which is moving Beth and Mickie to SD! which has revived them, especially Beth, but maybe because SD! cares about its divas.

I think this release will be good for maria, even though i did like hera and hate to see one of the fan favorites go.
She may not have been the best wrestler but most of them aren’t. she put her heart and effort.
The WWE really doesn’t know what to do with there divas honestly they would be better off leaving or getting some better writers because there storylines suck.
I don’t think they would release mickie, she would quit before they would release her, she’s one of the few good wrestlers they have i would hope they aren’t that dumb.
damn i hope then she goes 2 TNA, the ratings will go up a bit… hope she ends up coming back 2 WWE or go 2 TNA. Will miss her on WWE. :D
