We’re back with another Wrestlicious exclusive ahead of the series premiere of Wrestlicious TakeDown on Monday night. Our guest this time is a former ROH and SHIMMER star who was coaxed out of retirement to play the voodoo queen White Magic in Wrestlicious. You know her as The Lovely Lacey — not to be confused with Lacey Von Erich — but in Wrestlicious, she’s considered as one of the company’s star attractions. Sort of like an Undertaker or as Felony (her former tag partner, Rain) described her, sort of like The Boogeyman — a mysterious, captivating character that may not appear often but is always a sight to see.

hey, Diva-Dirt staff i was wondering if you could get a interview with Malibu Mackenzie, since she has been in the wrestling industry for almost 10 years
Great interview. I think this was the first time Lacey talks about her “retirement”. When she retired it kinda came as a surprise, and nobody was talking about it when they were asked about it. People speculated about her school + possible injuries, but nobody knew for sure (as far as i heard/read).
I hope to see her back in the ring someday though, she and Rain were the most entertaining heel tagteam.
Agreed Mikas, I remember being shocked when Lacey “retired”.
Glad to know she’ll be wrestling again for Wrestlicious, sadly my satellite company doesn’t carry the station it’s on.
I’m pretty sure if Lacey is liking it, it’ll be good.
I’ll have to check out the DVDs when they come out.
I miss Lacey SO much. She’s one of my favorite female wrestlers.
I can’t listen right now but I downloaded it & I’ll def check it out later.
Fun interview with The Lovely Lacey. Looks like she had some good experience down in Louisiana which helped with her character. If “Wrestlicious TakeDown” will be anything like “Hee Haw” I think it will last a long time especially down in the South with some of these types of characters. I thought the last part of this interview was interesting concerning old school wrestling-and showcasing women as the stars of the show (not taking a backseat to bigger promotions) with their wrestling abilities.
Erin great interview. The Lovely Lacey is a real talented athlete. But Erin, you had stated in the past that you would like to see more female wrestlers known for their talent instead of some ridiculous gimick. And Wrestlicious is just that. Don’t you find yourself being a lttle bit hypocritical?
darkmarvel – I don’t recall ever being opposed that much to things like this, especially so much to deserve to be called a hypocrite. Where did you read me hating on gimmicks? Maybe it was something to do with Maryse relying on her gimmick rather than her wrestling? Even so, Wrestlicious is a whole different animal and this is not a matter of gimmicks vs. talent–it’s a show where gimmicks are the driving force. I would never object to that in something like this.
I’ll admit that I thought Wrestlicious was silly to being with (with the rapping and what not), but the more I hear about it the more I like it. It’s supposed to be fun and light, and I get it. I like that they’re offering something different.
“THE TWILIGHT NONSENSE…” LOL. :) I loved Lacey then and I love her more now.
