Just an hour or so after it’s premiere on the Special Delivery radio show, Maria Kanellis‘ debut single has hit YouTube. The track, ‘Fantasy’ will be the recently departed Diva’s first record from her debut EP ‘Sevin Sins’ which is due on April 13th. Listen to the song below:
The song is expected to be serviced to radio and be released digitally next month. Maria has already shot a video which will also premiere next month.
We’ve posted snippets before, but having now heard the full version we can get a real feel for what Maria’s music will sound like. I have to say, this has grown on me with each snippet and having now heard the full version, it’s listenable. It’s not my usual type of music but it’s catchy and has a great hook. Good luck to her.

The timing of her WWE release was unfortunate, but I honestly think this is the best thing for Maria. Let’s face it, she was never really a “wrestler.” She didn’t do much in the ring, and was often painful to watch when she was getting any offense. Although she has a really good personality (more so than most of the Divas) and is absolutely beautiful, there wasn’t really anything left for her to do in the WWE. At least this way, she’ll be able to focus on her music or whatever else she wants to do. She’ll always have a fanbase, and I’m sure she’ll find sucess at something.
I’ll be honest, this song is actually starting to grow on me. I may have to download it if it goes on iTunes.

i think it’s very unfortunate that she has gotten released, and at a bad time as well. she’s popular and fun so why the hell did WWE release her?? although she does have celebrity apprentice and her music career, so she won’t be out of the spotlight. :) i wish her the best of luck!!
The only thing bad about her being released is that Mickie is the only face on Smackdown and Mickie looks terrible in the ring right now. <_<
I this song isn't to bad, I can see it being something I listen to when driving. . .and I can see me singing along. . . I'm sure she'll have a good music career. She also has a pretty nice voice, it's refreshing to see her center it in her lower register. There aren't very many good altos out there. :]
I prefer Mickie’s song if I have to choose between the two. This tweenybop fare TO ME so that’s probably why I don’t like it. I say “ick”. I’d say sorry but I’d be lying, and why should I be? :)
I like it…tbh it sounds like a Hilary duff song, it sounds like her singing tbh…just a little edgier.
Shannymac — i agree 100%. Even though Maria never won any titles she will ALWAYS be remembered in the WWE. She was just so popular! Diva of The Year? What an accolade to have. Maria will be missed — no doubt.

Very tweeny-bopper; I could totally imagine Hilary Duff doing it, but it’s quite good actually. She has quite a good voice, and I think with the right promotion, she could do quite well with her music career. After her release from the WWE, I hope she’s successful with her singing :)
Not bad at all. She’s a better singer than I thought. The pop-rock route is a safe move as it seems to be quite in at the moment.

I prefer Maria’s song to Mickie’s,. At first I didn’t like it and is still to commercial for my taste, but like Melanie said in her post, is listenable.
I believe she can have some success. There are a lot of worst songs that make it to the top, so she might have a chance.
My advice for her would be to work more on the lyrics. They are a little bit to simple and ordinary. But is not bad. The sound is cool, just work on you’re writing and project you’re voice more and you can be great.

I don’t like it at all. Sounds like all the other crappy top 40 songs on the radio right now. Way too pop for me. I think if she were to sing live it would sound horrible.
Hmm, I don’t listen to the radio much, but if people are saying this is “pop” and sounds too much like it, I’m going to have to start listening again.
I love it.
Admittedly I’d prefer a more sort of melodic-metal style (think early Lacuna Coil, or modern Within Temptation) but Marias voice is definitely good and the songs pretty good too.
I’ll have to keep an eye out for her EP when it comes out.
It’s definitely better than Mickies…but then again the only country artists I have ever liked are Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash.
